We chose this special spot because it offers everything we love about Louisiana’s coast—peace and quiet, unforgettable sunsets, and some of the best inshore fishing in the state. Located on Big Lake (Calcasieu Lake), this island community feels like a true escape, where life slows down and the water is always just steps away.

Big Lake is nationally known for its incredible fishing, attracting anglers from all over the country in search of trophy speckled trout, redfish, flounder, and black drum. The island’s relaxed atmosphere, waterfront homes, and easy access to Calcasieu Lake and the Gulf make it a favorite destination for fishermen, boaters, birdwatchers, and families looking to reconnect with nature.

What we love most, though, is the feeling you get here. Mornings are peaceful with coffee by the water, afternoons are spent fishing, crabbing, or exploring the lake, and evenings bring breathtaking sunsets that never seem to get old. It’s a place where kids can put down their screens, families gather around a campfire, and memories are made long after the fish stories are told.
