It is also very close to the pool! I would also like to compliment the front office of Sand Cay. They were so welcoming and friendly! We will definitely stay at Sand Cay again, hopefully in #115!!

Loveley resort (except for trash) and disappointing unit.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would describe this property with one word, "Worn". It REALLY needs some TLC in terms of painting, repairing paint cracks/chips, fixing the leaky kitchen sink faucet, and cleaning the smelly traps in all the bathroom sinks. Especially problematic was the very squeaky and broken down bed frames and mattresses. They were the worst I have ever slept on in a vacation rental and this is really saying something because we have rented all over the world. I am still nursing my sore back and shoulder after returning home 3 days ago. Additionally, all the couches and pillows were stained and in need of a good cleaning. The bottom line is this - if the owners do not or cannot maintain their rental, they need to reconsider using it as a rental. OR....using it less. It was the most worn out and overused unit that I have stayed in at Sand Cay to date. Also noted was a large amount of trash that was in and under the bushes near the buildings. We have never seen this in the 4 years that we have been coming to your resort. I thought that it might be related to the hurricane or just neglected? We thought that it was being blown their by the gardening guys.

Longboat lovely

This place was better than advertised! Great location steps from the beach. Unit extremely clean and great decor. Extras such as beach toys, coolers make this a plus. Grounds were in great shape considering the recent storm. Just the break we needed after spending 4 days in the Orlando Chaos. Very comfortable and accommodating property, we will be back!

Unit 115 did not disappoint

Reviewer Comments: It was our first visit to Sand Cay Beach Resort and it was wonderful! Unit 115 was very well equipped with everything we needed. Having the washer and dryer was a huge bonus! The unit is beautifully decorated and location is perfect. We didn't use the pool but were steps away, and were never bothered by noise at the pool. Not much of an ocean view but we knew that going in. Still very centrally located and a short walk to the gorgeous beach! Overall, we had an amazing week!! We'll be back!

Red Tide and Dead Fish Beach Closed by Local Officials

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nightmare of a vacation; paid to have condo cleaned; the floors were so dirty had to wear socks all the time. Red tide hit the beach along with a chemical smell like fertilizers; couldn't breathe outside; pool crowded with smokers and foul language guests definitely not good for kids. Tons of dead fish on beach and could NOT be outside. Checked out after two nights and had to paid for the entire week. Will not be going back to Sand Cay at Longboat Key, Florida
