Casa Luminosa Compound

Our stay in this beautiful home was memorable. We enjoyed our stay and our property manager was wonderful. Although there were a few minor issues, the property manger was very attentive to our needs.

Taos escape

comfortable, rambling home that easily accommodated the 10 of us. Six adults and four kids eight and under. The two pups loved the freedom to Rome. Communication with Terra was direct, immediate and informative. We have forwarded the link to friends we believe may also enjoy escaping Albuquerque’s noise, traffic, and in this case heat.

Beautiful home for large family

Well stocked kitchen and plenty of sleeping places. The house has obviously been used many times as evident in the wear and tear. The location was outstanding.

Great property - convenient location

This is a wonderful property that is easily accessible to both Taos ski Valley and the town of Taos. I do recommend stopping for groceries before you arrive at the property as there is not a convenient grocery store close to the facility. The property is as described and actually even a little better. The hot tub is a wonderful place to relax at the end of the day to look out over the sunset

We’ve stayed in lots of VRBOs for big groups and cleanliness is always a little iffy. The only other thing I would say is that the property definitely needs some pest control. The spiders inside were a little excessive. Overall though a great place to stay close to Taos with a large group.

Casa Luminosa

Well stocked house - lacked large fry pan and cereal bowls but caretaker quickly provided. No hot tub towels. Property tidy and fairly clean but a thorough cleaning was needed of the kitchen cupboards and tables (we washed them down - quite sticky and dirty) also the oven and overhead fan was not clean. Thorough cleaning necessary for future. Dining room light bulbs were out and the smoke alarm had been removed from the casita, plus flickering light in the casita. Despite the above, our stay was great. The large living room was fabulous for our family reunion.

Could Be So Much Better -- A Mixed Bag

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this property (house + casita) for a family reunion with 12 adults + one small child and dog attending. Pros: The location was great, the living/dining/kitchen area was perfect and in good condition for a reunion that had lots of conversation and eating. The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking for large groups. There was a nice patio and it was an easy trip into Taos. The Cons: This house needs, at a minimum, a deep clean, but, more to the point, lots of TLC. Many lights were broken or did not work, window shades in several bedrooms were inoperable, windows were hard to open (a problem especially as it was 10 degrees above normal), and everyone complained that their bed was uncomfortable (a mattress topper is a bandaid on a mattress that needs to be replaced). The property manager is very good and responded to questions and problems as rapidly as they could - e.g. by delivering new lamps - which was much appreciated. Happily, our event was a success and everyone rolled with the discomfort. Indeed, the cousins who ended up migrating to sleep on the very large L shaped sofa said IT was very comfortable. We're just sad that a house with such lovely bones isn't kept up. I give this property an average grade because it's got good karma even as it needs a reno.

Three week stay

This was a great house that allowed our dogs, and the location was perfect. Because of our time there it was half way to the ski valley and also to Taos for easy access to museums and shopping. We needed a couple of things during our stay and the management company was very responsive. The kitchen was well equipped which was important to us. We would stay there again.

Great potential

Great property in between downtown Taos and Taos Ski Valley base. The house itself and the views of the mountains and the valley are breathtaking. However, the property needs some TLC. Pros: - Cool house for multiple families. - Separate casita was great if you want separate living quarters for part of group - Incredible views - Private hot tub - Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dining ware and cooking ware Cons: - Needs deep cleaning. Tables and cabinets were grungy. Remote controls were dirty. - Old sheets in beds - Missing smoke alarms - Some door locks/handles did not work - Some TVs did not work - Community pool heater was broken and did not work entire stay - Multiple light bulbs out - Coffee maker needed deep cleaning - Hood above range was very dirty and needed filter change. Overall, pretty good value. The housekeeper was very responsive. When we arrived, there was no water to the house. The housekeeper addressed it quickly and got it fixed. She also quickly stocked more items that when there were not enough at check-in (I.e. - pool towels, paper towels, Kleenex, etc.). She sent a tech to fix TVs, but not all were fixed. We later discovered that one of the issues was corroded batteries in TV remote that were not addressed by technician. The biggest disappointment was that the indoor community pool was not operable. We had 10 boys in our group and that was one amenity that drew us to this property when we booked it. The property manager should have let us know that it wasn’t working before we traveled to home or offered some type of credit. If you are looking for a place for a big family to stay for Taos skiing, its pretty good. 20 minute drive to slopes and parking is free at slopes. Just needs some TLC.

The kitchen was amply stocked, the living space perfectly comfortable for the whole family to hang out in, and there were more than enough beds. Location is great as it's halfway between town and the ski area for quick trips to both. And the hot tub with views out over the mesa was well subscribed to. Overall, this place had everything we wanted.

Lovely place

We had a family reunion for a wedding in Velarde. All of the cousins were able to stay together and catch up. They enjoyed the hot tub and amazing star gazing.

Our Family Reunion Was Magical And Special Beyond Words!

The house was beautiful, spacious, we had 14 people, and there was plenty of room for more people. We had two dogs and they had a blast! WE had incredible evening meals outside, with a perfect breeze and ended it with a fun soak in the hot tub. I have no complaints. the pool was awesome, and the neighbors were all friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Overall the property is an excellent rental. My only issue because I am a neat freak is cleaning could be a little better under sofa and rugs- found some left overs from prior guests.
