Great Stay in Vieux Lyon

We had an amazing time staying at Emma’s place. Emma was a perfect host with great recommendations. The location is ideal and so was the view. The apartment was also quite spacious and everything you need. If you don’t mind a few stairs, then we would highly recommend Emma’s place.

Perfect location

Couldn’t have asked for a better place. Emmanuel was a very good host. Loved our location. Metro station right around the corner. Several restaurants right outside the apartment.

Charming and cozy!

Loved this cute little apartment in Vieux Lyon. It was close to the metro stop and everything we wanted to visit while there. Emma was friendly and easy to communicate with. The stairs are serious business, so if you have lots of luggage, opt for approaching the apartment from the high street (Emma will explain how when you book).

Great little apartment in Old Lyon

Quite an experience living in a “traboule”. Lots of steps to work off the wonderful food, and situated in the heart of the old city. Highly recommended.

Cozy apartment great for exploring the city!

Our family of 3 loved very much enjoyed our stay in Emma's apartment. The location was fantastic for exploring the city, and we enjoyed the views from the dining table. The pull out sofa bed was perfect for our child. Emma was very responsive when we asked her questions, but otherwise she left us alone. Would recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a feel of the old city!

Old Lyon Apartment

This property was located in a great neighborhood, close to everything and yet away from the crowds. Emmanuelle was a charming and very accommodating hostess. The only concern would be if one couldn’t do stairs easily. There are 6 flights of steep, circular stairs to get up to the apartment.

"sous le charme"...

Appartement charmant, bien équipé, douillet et très bien situé pour découvrir le Vieux Lyon à pied. Accueil très sympathique Nous ne connaissions pas Lyon et nous sommes "sous le charme" Une belle adresse à recommander mais pas trop!sinon nous n'aurons plus de date pour réserver à nouveau!!!

A great little flat in Vieux Lyon

We really enjoyed our stay in this little apartment in historic Vieux Lyon. The flat was calm and peaceful with a beautiful view over the city and to the mountains beyond. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The climb up the 7 flights of stone steps through the traboule added to the charm of the place. We would definitely stay here again.

Heart of Vieux Lyon- Fabulous location

The location is ideal; close to Metro stop, and within a few steps of great restaurants with authentic French cuisine. Looks of shopping options close by, short walk to major museums and silk companies. There are many stairs, but good exercise, and as the apt is in the middle of a hillside it was cool despite 100 deg temperatures outside. Great hostess, and friends who helped us get luggage up and down stairs and provided transportation to airport for a fee. We would stay there again.

Aufregende Wohnung am Steilhang

Die Wohnung liegt in einem Komplex von Gebäuden an einem steilen Hang in der Altstadt von Lyon (Vieux Lyon), also der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden (wovon auch unser Hund profitierte) . Von oben her ist die Wohnung über circa 70 Stufen erreichbar, nach unten hin sind es 115 Stufen, man muss also wirklich gut zu Fuß sein. Das Apartment selber ist zweckmäßig ausgestattet mit fast allem was man braucht, könnt ihr noch ergänzt werden durch Weingläser und zwei Handtücher mehr. Die Wohnungsinhaberin Emma war immer erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns viele praktische Tipps gegeben, auch hat sie uns großzügige Konditionen für einen späten Check out geboten. Außerdem bot sie uns für 13 € pro Tag einen Tiefgaragenplatz für unser Auto in der Nähe an. Insgesamt würde ich die Wohnung weiter empfehlen, aber wie schon gesagt, nur für sportliche Leute.

Très bien mais pas un 5 étoiles

Très bien situé dans la partie la plus intéressante de Lyon, le métro tout près. Il faut noter par contre les 115 marches à monter, donc on évite les aller-retours à l'apartement. Un peu chaud la première nuit et avec les fenêtres ouvertes quelques petits moustiques en ont profité ;-)

Slice of life in Vieux Lyon!

Emmanelle's flat is very quiet - it opens onto a courtyard with a view of rooftops and the cathedral - you'll hear birdsong in the morning and church bells in the evening. It's a super location - walk up the famous "montées" - stairways to the Basilica on the hill, the Roman Ruins, the pretty, serene park built into the side of the hill ... all lovely, with the added benefit (requirement, really) of working off the rich but amazing food in Lyon. The flat is stocked with all the basics, plus guidebooks and suggestions by Emmanuelle of her favourite non-touristy bakeries and restaurants. The heat and hot water are excellent. Emmanuelle is a great host - not obtrusive, but full of ideas, help, and information should you need it (or even if you look like you need it but are too shy to ask!) We also walked to the central part of Lyon and over to the other side of the river easily. A great stay!

Très bon accueil. Vue magnifique. Appartement atypique au milieu des toits du vieux Lyon et d'une traboule. Endroit parfait pour profiter du 5ème arrondissement. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Appartement spacieux , lumineux et très bien équipé

Idéalement placé près de la Saône, de la basilique de Fourvière et des amphithéâtres romains, au coeur de la vieille ville sans aucuns bruits. Station de métro au bas de la rue et, venant de Paris en voiture nous sommes arrivés tout près de l'appartement sans avoir à se perdre dans Lyon. Secteur piétonnier très vivant, marchés bouquinistes etc... il y a fort à faire. Très belle ville on aimerait y vivre à l'année. Nous gardons l'adresse, tant il nous reste de choses à voir.

situation idéale plein de charme

Au cœur du Vieux Lyon, un magnifique deux pièces très lumineux, très bien équipée, avec tout le confort, ainsi que les produits de 1ere nécessité pour la cuisine (sel, poivre, café, sucre, etc) et la salle de bain (gel douche, savon, sèche cheveux, etc...). Javais un peu peur mais en fait les six étages ne sont pas si compliqués à monter finalement ! Et il y a des petites courettes qui vous permettent de faire une pause. J'y retournerai sans hésiter.

A beautiful perch atop a beautiful city

This charming apartment has a rustic, loft-like feel and a ton of space to unwind after a full day of dining and sight-seeing. Yes - it truly is 6 flights of stairs, but with Lyon's rich food, that's a good thing! It's only steps to the metro and the funicular railways that go to the Roman Amphitheater and the wonderful Basilica. There are restaurants galore nearby specializing in traditional Lyonnaise fare, but also tapas, Asian and lovely bakeries as well. The shower was nice and big, and the views from the bedroom and living room/kitchen were great. There isn't a full grocery on the Vieux Lyon side of the Soane river, so keep that in mind if you can stock up on a few staples that the little Casino convenience store a few blocks away might not have. Being so close to the metro made accessing the train station a snap for the TGV from Paris, a day trip to Annecy and catching a bus to Bordeaux. I highly recommend the property, the neighborhood and our wonderful hostess Emmanuelle - Merci beaucoup!

Very comfortable apartment in the vieux Lyon area

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. It’s location above the old town was a great base to explore from. Cafes and restaurants close by and easy walk across to morning market on the other side of the River Soane. Metro station very close by and also good access for Velos bike hire station. Anyone with any mobility issues or who doesn’t like stairs needs to be aware there are approximately 115 steps to wind your way up from Monte du Courguillon up to the apartment and approximately 40 steps down if you access the apartment from Monte du Chenin neuf. Worth it though as stunning view and a very comfortable apartment. Very hospitable owner.
