Villa Poinciana es dos estructuras de madera independientes pero conectadas al estilo de las Indias Occidentales que se acurrucan cómodamente en la flora natural y las formaciones rocosas de la costa de Chalk Sound. Poinciana viene con tres kayaks para su disfrute explorando las islas en Chalk Sound.

What an incredible experience! The location is absolutely STUNNING! The host was so pleasant and answered any questions we had quickly. Everything you need is all in one place. Wonderful accommodations, easy water access, kayaks for the entire family, snorkel gear, super fun floats and beach chairs! We wanted for nothing! The kitchen is nice and big and the views just took our breath away! The walkability to Sapodilla Bay and the delicious La Brisa restaurant was so convenient. The home was clean and exactly as described! We can’t wait to come back!!

Beautiful location for a beach getaway!!

Booked this property for a getaway with friends having never stayed in Provo. We had the best time, and it was the perfect location! It is a treehouse like atmosphere, but equipped had all the amenities we needed for the week and it was only a short drive away from a number of restaurants and activities. We loved Taylor Beach, which was only a short distance from the property and walkable. We can’t wait to visit Poinciana again!

My daughter selected Colin’s place and we were very happy with our stay. Beautiful views and accommodations. Colin was very responsive to questions prior to our arrival as well as during our week stay. The iguanas were so much fun to watch! The area was calm and low key. We ordered in for meals. Loved the swifteats delivery app. Chartered a boat from Okeanos: wonderful! Mostly just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves on our deck and in the water! We had little lizard visitors every day that were fun to watch. Thank you Colin!

Perfect Caribbean Vibe

We loved this place! The vibe and open air was perfect. Felt like we were actually at home and not at some apartment building atmosphere. All the glass in the living area not only provided an A view of the sound but the breeze was heavenly. Absolutely no need for AC. I actually wore a light sweater. The separate building for bedrooms was perfect. My friend was in heaven with the open sliders in her room at night. This was no more inconvenient than a two story building, the stairs are just in the open air. We loved it. The location is two very nice beaches with one having a very fun little tiki bar. Using the kayaks and paddleboard on the beautiful Sound was perfect for me. Lots of privacy surrounded by natural beauty of the Sound water was truly a slice of paradise. If I ever come back to Turks and Caicos I hope this gem is available.

Beautiful house with everything you need to have fun!

We spent a good time at Collin’s house. Everything was perfect and beautiful. The view was spectacular. Every morning was like a dream. Collin is very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this rental to everybody. We rented a car and did not even use it a lot since everything was in the house and the location is perfect. Thank you again, our family had a wonderful time

A great family vacation

We had a great time at Colin’s place for our family of four. Absolutely loved paddling out and visiting the iguanas in the kayaks and sitting out on the dock reading. The kitchen had everything we needed to make the majority of our meals.

Heaven on Earth!

This our second time staying at Colin’s villa and will not be the last. Nestled on a quiet strip in beautiful Chalk Sound, it’s close to two beautiful beaches and well connected to the rest of the island. You’ll never tire of the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore.

Fantastic Property in a Beautiful, Quiet Spot

Staying on Chalk Sound is immensely different from staying in the resorts on Grace Bay beach. It's so quiet with stunning views, super close to Sapodilla & Taylor Bay beach which are shallower and calmer for children. Great views of planes landing and taking off but far enough away from the airport that you didn't hear the noise. We loved everything about this property. The main house was perfectly appointed. The house with bedrooms was amazing with 2 separate entrances and a bathroom in each. Our children are old enough that this worked well for us but might be an issue for people with smaller kids. This would also make for an amazing stay for 2 couples as you could each have your own entrance / exit to the outside. We felt safe enough to leave the door open to take the breeze at night. The gear that was available for use was beyond - multiple kayaks, a SUP, life jackets, plentiful beach towels, chairs, floaties, etc. We loved the decks, the gear, the ability to slide open the doors for a breeze, the views, the easy access to quieter, calmer beaches. Honestly, this afforded us the best vacation we have had as a family in quite a few years and a huge part of that had to do with our tremendous stay here at Colin's amazing property on Chalk Sound.

Perfect beach getaway

This property was beautiful! We loved using the kayaks to venture out and see more of Chalk Sound. The views from the deck are STUNNING- even on cloudy days. Endless towels, ice chest bags, kitchen supplies and a washing machine were all great to have. Thanks!! Would love to come back.

Perfect Family Vacation

Loved waking up to such a beautiful view every morning! The house was perfect for our family of 3- 2 adults and 1 teenager. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding in the sound. We did a lot of exploring around the island and everything we needed was available at the house: beach towels, beach chairs, snorkels, floats,And small coolers to pack drinks and snacks!

Another Wonderful Stay

This was our second time staying at Poinciana and it was even better than the first! First off the Villa is beautiful and Colin provides everything needed to have an amazing stay. The kitchen is well stocked and we always found anything we needed while cooking, including when baking my son his annual birthday cake! There are extra linens, travel sized toiletries, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, portable speaker, etc. Anything and everything that you need they have thought of. The home is very well appointed and the layout worked great for our family of five, three of which are teens (18,16,14). Next LOCATION!!! The beauty of Chalk Sound which offers kayaking and paddle boarding right off the dock plus having Taylor Bay and Sopadilla Beach which are right down the street was everything that we wanted. Do not hesitate to book! You will not regret it!

Perfect Vacation Home

We enjoyed everything about Poincianna! Being so close to Taylor Bay was great. The kids loved taking the kayaks out to the little islands. Colin was very responsive and helpful. I hope we get to go back again someday!

Magical week at Poinciana

My family and I had an amazing stay at Poinciana. The setting was breathtaking, you are truly right on the water. We sat out on the dock each night and dangled our feet in Chalk Sound, and Taylor Bay is right down the road for late afternoon swims. We were often the only ones on the beach. The host was extremely responsive and helpful and the house had absolutely everything that you could need. This place is a gem!

Colin Whyte, President of Martha's Vineyard Construction, left his happy childhood home near Biscayne Bay, FL to start a wonderful and varied journey that would one day lead him to sailboat summers, Martha’s Vineyard mansions and a company built from fortitude and perseverance. “I had enough support and stability at home that I could just go. I never knew that when I left home at age 16, I’d never be back again.” Choosing to go to an all boys boarding school in Tennessee, McCallie School taught hard lessons of discipline and survival. It was there that Colin made life-long friends and began to desire the mysteries that life and experience had to offer.

In hope of avoiding a sojourn in Vietnam Colin took off on his motorcycle, partnered with friends, and threw himself into education and small-time enterprises. Self-taught, he learned how to run a successful business from varied jaunts including: house moving, dictionary selling, surfboard renting, interning in the Senate, and—finally, construction clean up. Graduating from Brown University with a liberal arts degree led him to a winter at Law School, and a stint back at Brown Graduate School in art. “Applying to schools, I was really just a kid trying to stay out of Vietnam; little did I know, it was the motorcycle that would save me. A serious accident taught me the power of the motorcycle. My back was handed a lesson and Martha’s Vineyard became my home.”
