The Shack is an original holiday home located on the edge of Eagle Point Bay, opposite the Eagle point jetty and playground, which follows the shoreline around to Paynesville in one direction, and the world-famous silt jetties the other direction.

This comfortable, 2 bedroom, original beach cottage is suitable for a small family or two couples with plenty of space to park your car and boat or have a family cricket match. Take a short stroll down to the lakefront at the end of the road to swim, boat, kayak or fish!

Enjoy this ideal location with only a ten-minute drive to the town centre of Paynesville and its restaurants, bars, and cafes. Handy to local boat ramps, golf courses and all the natural attractions on offer. With easy access to Lake King from the public boat ramp, the location is perfect for boating and fishing enthusiasts.

We loved staying at The Shack. The views of the water from the property were stunning and we loved the walks around the lake with our dogs. We also loved the Hub Cafe just a couple of minutes walk, right on the waterfront with a beautiful outlook, and we could sit outside with our dogs. The Shack is cute, quirky and retro. Brilliant location. We fell in love with Eagle Point - so beautiful and quiet.

Excellent position near the water

Super easy check-in. The property is older but very cute. We had a lovely stay with our 2 dog's and it had a very secure yard. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks

Love the shack!

Comfy cottage, beautifully styled, nice views of the water. Big enclosed yard, good for kids and dogs. We loved the location, so close to the water.

Great location

Our stay in this house was great. The location was perfect for walks along the foreshore with the dogs and we witnessed some amazing sunrises. The garden was good for pets and the house was comfortable for our family. Key collection was easy.

Good location

The place was situated in a really nice location, wth beautiful views over the lake. Got some great suggestions when check in on things to do around the area. The place is a little run down and felt like it needed a deep clean but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Not worth the amount charged to expensive, To hard to get to fridge, microwave to high on top of fridge.Not really suited for older people, front and back steps high, fences not suited for dogs as all palings are falling off to bad to try and fix as rotted. curtain rail in lounge kept falling off near front door. Dishwasher outside ,Was clean and lovely views ,just not suitable for us .

Amazing

The house is so cute and was perfect for us and our Dog. Great location and everything was at the property that we needed. We even got gifted some local honey and coffee for our stay, which was such a nice gesture. Relaxing getaway was just what we needed and the shack definitely provided that. Thank you 😊 Will definitely be booking again in the future!

So close to the beach , views from every windows which showed beautiful sunrises each day .The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was well thought out and had everything you could need.The yard was huge and my dogs loved it ,they could play and run . We will definitely choose to stay here again .

This cute 1950s beach house has all the charm of a bygone era but with modern amenities. I found the master bed too hard for my liking, however, the second bedroom featured a softer mattress so I ended up having a comfortable stay. An easy drive to Bairnsdale, Paynesville and Raymond Island.

Location, location!

The property is very simple but in a fantastic location. It was all we needed and we had a fantastic week exploring around Paynesville. The community centre just opened across the road and looks like it is serving coffees (though we did not make it there). The main bed was very hard and there wasn’t enough PowerPoints for the bedside lights - not so great for reading in bed, but easily fixed. There was a mould problem in the toilet that really needs fixing to stop long term rot. It’s a classic 1960’s place. Overall we loved our time there and would definitely go back!

The Shack review

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was comfortable. Unfortunately we came for a family funeral not a holiday. Being 3 oldies we did have concerns that no non slip mats for shower and the changing area. These two areas very slippery when wet even for younger folks. We had to use the bath mat in the shower so we would not slip. We were 84, 74 and 77. Found lots of utensils in the kitchen we had to wash before we could use them and overall the floor was very dirty. The floorboards need a good micro fibre cloth (slightly damp). Beds and linen all nice and clean and comfortable. Washing machine good but no where to hang the clothes as the line is broken.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the rental. The beds were clean, but the doors inside and out were dirty and scratched. The walls were scratched and grubby. The toilet had a leak behind it and blue mould was growing on the skirting board. There was a blocked drain just outside the back door.The cover on the couch was dusty and soiled.We had only booked for two nights and although the location was fine it was overpriced for the state of the house.The second bedroom was very untidy with bedding on spare beds not even folded neatly, mattress covers not even tucked in properly.

Gorgeous getaway
