West House is a newly renovated and stylish property sitting on 12 acres and 1000 ft of water front, offering complete privacy. The home consists of 2 large fully furnished bedrooms with ensuite baths located on opposite sides of the house.
This charming rental home is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes away from the GGT Int’l airport and about the same distance from the center of activity on the island, Georgetown. It is nestled on one of the most beautiful beaches on all of Exuma, Tar bay.
The house is very spacious and airy with elevated ceilings in the living room and kitchen area. Screened sliding doors all around offer eye catching ocean and garden views and easy access to the furnished outside deck areas. Perfect to relax and enjoy the ocean breezes with an ice cold beer in hand from the mini bar! The house is also fitted with A/C units throughout the Great room as well as each bedroom.
The kitchen is equipped with all your basic needs for preparing breakfast, lunch or dinner. From new modern appliances, cookware and silverware to potholders and washcloths.
The bedrooms are huge with large ensuite baths. The bathrooms are creatively tiled with colours of the ocean and have double entryways which can be accessed from the bedroom or the living room. Each bathroom has a sink, wall mirror and a shower.
The Master suite bath has a shower and deep tub combination.
West house sits on 12 acres of land with lush and healthy greenery, fruit & coconut trees and a stone pathway to the beach.
There is sensored outdoor lighting in place for those who are looking for that romantic moment with that loved one as you sit out on the patio watching the stars and listening to the gentle breezes and waves lapping at the shore.
The house is equipped with a washer and dryer which is available for your use and is located in the lower garage. There is also a gas grill that is ready to be used at your leisure.
West house is truly the place to have a quiet island experience while visiting Exuma. It´s suitable for a family vacation or a couple’s retreat.
When booked at West house you will have available concierge Services from “The Good Life Bahamas” who are the property managers for the beautiful accommodation. We will assist you with planning and arrange all the necessary aspects and services needed during your stay. My husband and I spent our anniversary at West House and oh what a view from the moment we arrived. The house is spacious, open and private. Although not much of a beach directly in front of the house a short walk and all the beach you could want absolutely beautiful!

The house cleaning is very bad, kitchen appliances no wood, The bathroom sink was clogged, the house needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance, the ceiling is full of leaks, it's a shame because the beach is beautiful

Great location- you turn off of the main road and go down aways, as opposed to some other rentals that are right on the road- so this feels more private, secluded, safe. Great layout for two couples- two mostly identical bedrooms on opposite sides each with their own en-suite. The central kitchen, living and dining. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of cookware/utensils/plates & bowls. Amenities: the house had beach chairs, beach mats, snorkel equipment, a soft sided cooler, books/puzzles/games and kayaks. A washer and dryer located under the front porch. Some beach towels, bathroom towels, a hair dryer. A few laundry pods, some dishwasher pods. Very responsive management: one of the air conditioners wasn’t working upon arrival- they had it fixed within a few hours of me notifying them. There was some supplied drinking water by the bar in a little dispenser and an assortment of sunscreen/soap left by previous renters. However: - no throw blankets or extra bed blankets - Slow internet (worse of an evening- if you’re wanting to stream a movie you better have it downloaded) - DVD player didn’t work - The dishwasher doesn’t do the best job- a lot of things we hand washed or ran through twice - Uncomfortable furniture- two evenings we wanted to spend indoors due to rain/wind/bugs- outdoor furniture in the living room was not conducive to kicking back and relaxing on. All in all a house we'd stay at again.

Die Unterkunft liegt in der Nähe der Stadt ca. 10min. mit dem Auto und trotzdem Abgeschieden von allen anderen. Direkt oberhalb des Meeres, jedoch ist der Strand (Tar Bay Beach) nicht direkt vor der Unterkunft und man muss über Felsen hinunterlaufen. Der Strand ist sauber, Menschenleer und das Wasser kristallklar und atemberaubend türkis wie niergends auf dieser Welt! Die Unterkunft ist grossräumig mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf das Meer von allen Räumen. Sehr enttäuschend war; Der Geschirrspüler in der Küche war total verkalkt und hat das Geschirr nicht sauber gewaschen, das Geschirr war in der gesammten Küche schmutzig/verkalkt und alt. Ein NO-GO war die Dusche, viel zu wenig/kein Druck in der Duschbrause - nach 60min. Duschen hatte man immernoch das Schampoo in den Haaren! Auch das Wasser in der gesammten Unterkunft stinkt abartig nach Schwefel!! Nach einer Reklamation wurde Chlor dazugemischt, danach stank es gemischt nach faulen Eiern und Chlor! Der Manager ist leider sehr unzuverlässig und unpüntklich. Auch die Kaution haben wir seit der Abreise (6.3.23) bis heute nicht erhalten, trotz mehrmahligen Kontakt!

Perfect Couples Getaway!

House was in a great location- near markets, downtown, etc, but is in total privacy. The beach is just a short walk down the grass and some rocks. Communication with the owner/manager was superb upon booking the house. I would absolutely recommend this property for a couples getaway for some fun, relaxation and exploring the island!

Ocean Front Property

Awesome house and stay in Exuma, we will be back! House is big with a great 'beach' theme. Huge kitchen and living room area with big windows that overlook the blue-er than blue ocean. Kitchen is modern and well furnished and has bbq grill. We cooked all but one dinner at the house. Smittys, RNK liquor and Prime Meats are only a few minutes away. Bedrooms are huge with comfortable King beds. Same with the bathrooms and multi-head showers. Backyard leading to the ocean is fantastic, with two hammocks and 4 loungers that overlook the water, which are perfect for a drink and book at the end of the day. Rocky entrance to the ocean, but you can walk with bare feet and there is sand as you get in the ocean. Roughness of water depends on which way the wind is blowing that day; we got in three of the days and passed on four days. But irregardless of whether you get in, you will not believe the visual of how blue the water is. Sandy beach 100 yards to left and right of house. No neighbors within sight of the house, so very private. House came with 3 kayaks, lifevests, plenty of beach towels/chairs/umbrellas, cooler and snorkel gear. Management company was fantastic to work with before and during visit. They even meet you at the airport and have you follow them to the house. House location is perfect. 10 min south of airport and 10 min north of Georgetown, ie middle of the island. Can't wait to come back.

J'étais à la recherche d'une maison de rêve isolée dans les exumas pour ma femme et moi et nous sommes tombé sur cette annonce et nos recherches se sont arrêtées ici. La maison est magnifique si vous cherchez un endroit isolé avec sa plage "privé". Lors de notre séjour, le niveau de l'eau était haut donc il n'y avait pas une grande zone de plage mais cela ne pose vraiment pas de problème car il y a des chaises longues pour bronzer dans le jardin. La maison est très bien aménagée, on trouve tout ce qu'on a besoin. Chaque chambre est connectée à sa propre salle de bain avec toilette et les chambres sont à l'opposé l'une de l'autre. La vue est incroyable, il y a des hamacs, des canoës, les équipements de snorkeling... La cuisine est bien équipé et il y a beaucoup de placards pour ranger vos courses. Si vous louez une petite voiture faite attention au chemin d'accès de la route à la villa car il y a beaucoup de troues et les roues peuvent subir des dégâts si vous roulez trop vite. Si vous avez le moindre problème, la gérante immobilière est toujours disponible pour aider ou conseiller. Pour résumé, si vous cherchez un endroit paradisiaque pour s'évader pour quelques jours dans un havre de paix, réserver vite West Villa Mi Dundee : )

We had a very positive experience at this property.

Everything very clean. Nicely furnished. Good sized bedrooms and baths with comfortable mattresses. Living area very large for a two bedroom house. Kitchen fully applianced. Basic provisions were all there. Caretaker was attentive if you needed her. Great location on the island. Just a few minutes from stores where you can buy food and supplies. 10-15 minutes or so to Georgetown. We were there for 2 weeks. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for private location (no other houses on top of you). The view is spectacular. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of the beach or lack thereof. The sand moves around a lot in the Bahamas and while we were there.there was none in front of the property. You can walk down the coral 100 yards or so to get to a beach but it is not an easy walk. Overall, this was a very good value.

Beautiful is the word I kept repeating to myself...Great Stay and Tremendous Hosts

As described (if not better). You will not be disappointed. No regrets in booking this wonderful house. Very secluded and spacious. Thoroughly enjoyed. Only negative is that we had to leave. Favorite spot was the hammocks, second was the lounge chairs. I would definitely stay again only longer next time.

Loved the West House and Exuma

We just returned from a wonderful 8-night stay at the West House on Tarbay. The home and location was perfect for us (two couples). We loved the island central and secluded location. Other homes along Tarbay are closer together and many sit right on Queens Highway. West House sits alone and off the road. The views were stunning, including the early morning sunrise. The stretch of beach allowed us to take long walks that are a must when we vacation on the beach. I came very close to booking a different rental closer to Georgetown in February Point (lovely villas with a great restaurant) but realized waterfront is not the same as beach front and we would have been disappointed. So happy I made the right choice for our vacation style. The home came well furnished with extras that made the stay very comfortable. There were plenty of beach towels, snorkels (we brought our own) and fins (we didn't bring our own), beach mats, umbrellas, and portable beach chairs. We loaded up our SUV with snorkel gear, umbrellas and a beach mat and headed out to the other wonderful beaches on Little Exuma and Great Exuma. We did not take along the portable beach chairs (nice camping type chairs) only because we knew we really would not sit for long on a beach. It was nice to take a break on the beach mat and umbrellas when needed though. Kayaks were provided, but we've never done that and it was quite windy (great breezes) during our visit so we didn't attempt to use them. They looked very nice however. I believe there was a soft sided cooler, but we had brought two of our own. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed to cook with. We prepared most breakfasts and three evening meals at home and had everything we needed, even a few spices and olive oils left behind from other guests. Good Life Bahamas were great to deal with. Onike contacted me soon after I booked the home last summer with a lot of information I could begin thinking about. She met us at the airport upon arrival and could not have been sweeter. They have a wonderful representative in Onike. I provided her a list of grocery/drink items to purchase for us ahead of time so we didn't have to spend the first days shopping. It was so nice to not have to think about that for the first several days actually. Prime Meats and Smitty's are very close by and had everything else we needed the rest of the week. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the West House and Exuma and hope to return!

Breathtaking views

The views from this house go on for miles from both the interior and exterior. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and we cooked every meal there. The beds were comfortable Serta’s. We loved the overly large sunken showers after a day in the sun and sand. The stretch of beach is straight so there is not a lot of protection from the wind. We didn’t get to kayak because the waters were way too choppy. Onike and her sister were very friendly and organized to get us all set up. The owner was also prompt to respond and easy to deal with. We loved playing cards every night at the round table, it was a perfect set up. No neighbors so there is total privacy. It was neat being on an estate and envisioning what it was like there 40 years ago! We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to Exuma and rent from Good Life Bahamas.

Very nice, peaceful and calm, great location. Great open area inside with everything you need. Prime meats just down the road, great meat market. This is a quite out of the way place if, like us, you are here to relax and want privacy. Very good manager, very attentive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we are back in Exuma.

Perfect location for a tranquil escape

A beautiful quiet setting smack in the middle of Great Exuma. Décor and interior finishes are delightfully retro, a mix of modern amenities and classic old-Bahama furnishings that made us feel at home. The kitchen is well appointed and the baths are spa-like. Check the cupboards before buying supplies, foodies should bring any special spices or food items with you as the grocery stores have limited inventory. Remember that on most out islands roads can be sketchy, and the driveway entry here is rough; renting a Jeep is a good idea. Another reviewer suggests the inclusion of kayaks would be a big plus, but being avid 'yakkers and divers with a long history visiting many other out islands, paddling from the beach at this property is not for the average vacationer. The closest rocky islets aren't far, but water conditions can change quickly so we appreciate the owner's preference in avoiding liability issues. Quality beach gear is provided, and there are several snorkeling or kayak excursion providers. Boat rental is easy but local knowledge counts... don't if you're a novice. Take the water taxi (which can be a short adventure itself) to Stocking Island and dive off the beach since there are only two good spots on the main island, both at the north end. Explore, hope you find others! Though we weren't visiting the Exumas to watch television, something more than rabbit ears IS warranted. Satellite service is a must for a luxury rental, 5 or 6 channels isn't enough. Overall the property is gorgeous, but some deferred maintenance should be addressed. During two days of heavy rain it became obvious the home needs a new roof and facias, and at minimum, a gutter over the front door. If it were my house, I'd redesign the porte cochere as well, it's a VERY tight space to drive under with ill-placed supports. But honestly, I'm picking nits because of my old profession. This property is exactly the type we wanted and expected. Staff are responsive and very helpful. If you want privacy and comfort with easy access to everything the island offers, this is probably the best private rental available on Great Exuma.

Very private and well equipped

We stayed here for a week at the end of June 2017. It is probably the most well equipped home we have stayed in. We loved having the large rooms & beautiful views. The best part by far was the seclusion of the beach. Not once did we have to share it with anyone! It was also great having the deposit back in my account before I even left the property.

Beautiful Turn Key Home!

This home shows like a new home. The furniture and decor is beautiful. There is ocean views in every room. The living room is spacious, you almost feel as if your outside indoors. The airconditioner works fantastic. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need (coffee maker, toaster, baking pans, blender etc.) There was also cooler bags, chairs, umbrellas, and mats for beach days. We loved the huge bedrooms and bathrooms. We gave this home 4 stars as oppose to 5 because it would have been nice to have kayaks and/or snorkel equipment available for guests in the home. Other homes come with kayaks and/or snorkel gear included. It would have been a nice touch. However the water outside this home is amazing!

Absolutey Fabulous Exuma Rental House

This property was amazing. The view, the house, the location....EVERYTHING. Good Life Bahamas Realty was wonderful to deal with. Onike was the BEST. A few issues arose while we were there that are not a surprise on a small island, but she was on top of them and they were quickly resolved! We had a fabulous week and will stay at West House again!

Peace, Quite, and Perfection!!

The photos really do not do this rental justice. The size of the house and property are amazing. The living room could seat 20 people. Large open floor plan totally remodeled. Everything is new and works like a charm!! Well equipped and had everything you would need to cook a 7 course meal, grill, and Board Games all night!! Great outdoor seating for a nice afternoon drink, huge bedrooms, and a view that goes on for miles. It really is your own private beach, a 100 feet from the house. Once on the beach you cannot see a house in any direction. It is you, nature and nobody else. I did notice other houses on my drive in from the airport that were sitting right on the road. I was a bit worried about what we rented until we pulled up to the main entrance. Then I realized this was not your normal beach cottage rental. This is a true house sitting on an Estate. This house is very secluded way off the road with lots of acreage between you and anyone else. This property is in a very up scale residential part of the island. As we explored our other original potential rentals, we realized many houses we originally looked at were up on bluffs, off the water, or close to business and population. You would have no issue sitting on the beach and exploring the property and never get bored. That said with everything else this island has to offer, on and off land, we had a spectacular once in a lifetime real vacation!!!!! I was tan, rested, and ready to face the world once again!!! Have fun!!

Best experience of my life to date!

Everything about this house, property and island in general were magnificent. The house itself is super clean, everything worked the way it should and it felt like I was in a new house. We spent plenty of time cooking (which is very easy to do in a kitchen a well equipped as this!) and just relaxing around the house. If I had to pick, I'd say the best part is having our own private beach! Ithe was a total new experience for us and we loved it!
