Unique Romantic Beach Style Cottage close to Folly Beach & historic Charleston!

If you like island living and are seeking a unique romantic get-a-way, you will LOVE our property. With a Caribbean/surfing theme you will be able to enjoy your stay with us in a private setting. Our ADULT ONLY cozy cottage has two rooms but all you need to relax and unwind. The outside area has tropical trees along the pathway to our pool and sun deck for your enjoyment. Music is also an added pleasure around the pool area with outdoor sound system. The garden shower (and only shower) is just outside the cottage doors, completely private and unique as you can see in the photos. Our guests have a private entrance to the cottage on the back of the property. There is a cozy porch with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bicycles, Beach chairs, surfboard, and cooler are provided for your beach fun. The property is located behind our home on a quiet cul-de-sac with no noise except for the songbirds chirping in the mornings. Short 10 minute drive to either Folly Beach or to downtown historic Charleston. We have many guests celebrate honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and other Charleston events throughout the year. A long list of things to do as well as favorite restaurants are provided by past guests as well as family and friends. Our pool is unheated and located behind the main home and being the only guests, you will be able to enjoy it on your own. We have a strict no-pet policy so please do not ask for an exception. Nice weekend getaway!

Beautiful, unique and relaxing place to stay for our weekend trip to Folly Beach and Charleston. The private pool and outdoor, tropical shower were great touches. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed our staycation at Kokomo

Cozy stay for our beach getaway

My partner and I had a relaxing stay at the Kokomo cottage during our visit to Charleston. We very much enjoyed the backyard space and access to the pool and tiki bar that Ken and Christine have to offer. The mattress in the cottage was very comfortable and the rest of the cottage was clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended for a couple getaway!

Kokomo was amazing!

Lovely Lil Cottage

This was a sweet lil oasis that was a 15 min drive to all things Folly Beach. Our host was thoughtful & great with the communication. Thank you. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Great place

My husband and I celebrated our 29th Anniversary there. Ken was helpful and the place was adorable. We will definitely book with them again. Sorry I missed his wife as she was out of town. Thanks Ken we will see you again.

A great little hideaway near the beach

It was our first time to Folly Beach and my wife and I stayed at the Kokomo Cottage. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the perfect little stay. Easy access to the beach and to Charleston. After a morning at the beach, we floated in the pool and captured some more sun. It had everything we needed and felt very private. Nice design touches makes you feel you're right at the beach. Would definitely consider if my wife and I are looking for an easy getaway!

Kokomo Cottage made our stay unforgettable!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kokomo and didn't want to leave! Ken and Christine are lovely people, were very accommodating, and you hardly knew they were around. The location is perfect as it's 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Folly Beach, and 30 minutes from the airport. The cottage is a perfect romantic getaway or an excellent base of operations from which to explore all the area has to offer. We can't wait to visit Kokomo Roatan next!

Perfect location for the Charleston experience!

We loved our stay at Kokomo for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Being 15 minutes away from historic downtown Charleston and under 15 minutes from Folly Beach made it the perfect combination for a memorable stay! The cottage was exactly as advertised and the hosts were always prompt on responding to any inquiries we had. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Charleston getaway!!

Great beach getaway

We came to Kokomo cottage for a birthday getaway and had a lovely time! Ken was extremely responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. Check in was super easy, we had tons of privacy and really enjoyed the pool area. Would absolutely book again!

The owner seemed nice, but there was a camera pointed right at the shower. My wife and daughter took a shower and then i took mine. When I was taking a shower I noticed the back blinds of their house open then I looked up to see a camera pointed right at me. I told my wife and she felt really violated, especially that my 3 year old daughter had to walk from the cottage to the shower naked because she was covered in beach sand. We did not feel private at all and felt like we were being watched the whole time. The cottage smelled like mildew as well and the pool was on their back porch with about 10 windows pointed at you, so after seeing the camera we just didnt feel comfortable. I have pictures of the camera view from standing in the shower and you could easily see the upper half of your body from the camera. It was really creepy. I get they may want the camera for safety purposes but at least put a full size door up and notify your tenants instead of making the description sound like its a private get away. We had to hang a towel up to block out the view of the camera.

Cute bungalow, but not by the beach

We had a lovely time staying here, but felt like it maybe overemphasized it's closeness to Folly Beach. Loved the outdoor shower, but for a "romantic" stay would definitely have preferred to have a door on the bathroom. Also definitely had a mildew problem and all our clothes came home smelling of damp.

Unique property in a location central to Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach. The hosts were gracious, and the property was one of a kind. We felt as if we were in the Caribbean. The outdoor shower was really cool, too. We had everything we needed for a great stay!

Hello fellow travelers! My wife and I have been living here in Charleston for 10 years and feel it's the best place either of us ever called home. We love hosting to allow others to come and enjoy this island area we have come to love. My wife Christine has been a flight attendant with Delta for over 18 years and recently retired. I have recently escaped the corporate world and do handyman work around the islands to stay busy. We moved here from Atlanta where we lived for over 25 years and wouldn't live anywhere else! There are so many fun things to do here, we never get bored!

The property is in a great area on James Island on a quiet cul-de-sac. Just minutes to the beach or minutes to downtown Charleston. You will have plenty of privacy and will enjoy a relaxing atmosphere here at the cottage. You will have a private entrance and plenty of privacy. That's why we have so many couples stay here and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's quiet here, but only minutes to shopping, bars, restaurants and charming downtown Charleston.
