Family Gathering

Great house and location for a family gathering if you like the beach and beautiful Carlsbad. Michelle is a wonderful and responsive owner. We felt it was time and resources well spent. Only suggestion is that a keypad door lock or the use of a "lockbox" for entry keys would be helpful.

Ideal beach house for family reunion

Michelle was responsive and worked with us when we had questions. House is right near nice beach, spacious and clean. We loved the big kitchen and outdoor lounging area - easy to have family cooking together and enjoying the coast.

Great location, close to the beach and lovely home.

We stayed here for our family reunion. It’s a lovely home in a quiet neighbor within walking distance to North Ponto Beach. Michelle is a caring owner and excellent communicator. The home is spacious, with a fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable. Would definitely return!

Fabulous

5 star review: house perfect, host awesome, vacation fantastic. The House was super nice and very comfortable for my whole family. We had Plenty of room to stretch out. It had everything we needed. The owner/manager was wonderful. She is an Excellent communicator and was very accommodating. I feel like she would have done anything to make our stay as great as possible. The location was ideal. Easy walk to the beach and nice surf break out front. It was all that was advertised and more. Would definitely rent there again.

Beautiful home

Beautiful home. The beach toys, chairs and boogie boards were nice to have. They left a little welcome basket which was unexpected and and super nice. Parking is easy. Beach is about a 10 min convenient walk.

Family of 12 had plenty of room in the house and comfortable beds. Kitchen was great!

This property was beautiful. Only two things we’d change was knowing about the early morning train that toots Its horn and the beach is across the street but it’s a pretty busy Boulevard you have to cross , other than that we were extremely pleased ! Thanks for great memories!

Beautiful house and location

Perfect house for us to stay at while there for sports. The house is stocked with anything you need for cooking and relaxing. Loved having all the beach chairs/boogie boards as well. Cute backyard seating and front fire pit. Owner did have to tell our group to quiet down which once we were told that we did our best to ensure there was no outside noise after 9:30pm. Such a pleasure to be walking distance to the beach made for great walks, beach time and perfect sunsets.

Improvements needed.

The furniture in the Master Bedroom is very nice, but the furniture in all the other bedrooms need a substantial upgrade. All beds need to have nightstands and lamps for reading. The jacuzzi control panel does not work, the bedroom downstairs need the walls repaired and painted and the window in the side room (off the Master bedroom) is not working.

Good vacation, few unexpected bumps in the road...

Although the house was beautiful, well stocked, and well maintained. We were VERY dissapointed when we got there to find that that hot tub was not working and neither was the clothes dryer. When we contacted the home owner, she did get someone to look at the hot tub quickly, but unfortunately the conclusion was that it was unusable for the whole week. Our kids were very disappointed. The clothes dryer was replaced, but I felt that it could have done quicker (we arrived on Sunday, it wasn't replaced until Thursday) so we had damp beach towels and no ability to do laundry the majority of the week. We did receive a small reimbursement for all the trouble but I am not sure it was adequate. All in all, I did rate the stay as good (not good all the time) since I did experience angst in texting and talking back and forth with the homeowner to get the issues resolved and the hot tub was one of the main criteria we had in selecting a vacation home. If you are lucky enough not to have any of these "unexpected" issues happen to you, this is a great place to rent (location, quality of the house, amenities, etc.).

Beautiful home, fantastic location! Nice and quiet neighborhood. Great for a large family!

This was a great house for our family of 11. There was plenty of space and we were not on top of each other during our stay. Three bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready for our day, no waiting!! The pool table was a great extra! The location was within 30 minutes from Sea World, 15 minutes from Legoland and 5 minutes from the beach! The bbq was great as well! We would definitely stay here next time! Thanks, The Porter and Kesler families.

I wanted to get away for a few days. The place was perfect. Just off of ocean and close to the Village. The house was very comfortable and well appointed. Great for a family looking to get away for a week.

Lovely home.

Our large family had a wonderful stay here. Close to the beach and shopping. Close to the I-5 for quick travel. Lots of space for the grandkids. We truly enjoyed the house and will stay again.

Property was beautiful and close to beach and restaurants. House had everything we needed.

There needs to be some overall maintenance done...for example the clogged shower heads and slow draining sinks in bathrooms. Not a big deal, but needs addressed. Michelle was great to work with when we had problems with the hot tub. Overall great house and would definitely come back!

Great location, great house

Two families, total of 10 of us, shared the house for 4 nights. Very clean house. Nice neighborhood. Parking on driveway for 2 vehicles. Michelle was great to work with. I had concerns about a couple of needed repairs but I let her know and she responded promptly, as with all questions we had. There are sand toys and boogie boards provided as well as towels for both the house and the beach, which is a plus when traveling by plane. Warm water shower to rinse after the beach and hot tub is a plus! Having the grill for meals was nice. The couples traded off staying in the beautiful upstairs master suite with king bed, balcony, TV, Large double sink bathroom, shower, jet tub and separate toilet room. The downstairs bedroom is quite a bit smaller with a queen bed, dresser and closet, and small bathroom with shower outside the door. More shelving, not above toilet, to place toiletry items would be handy. That bedroom and bathroom has not been updated yet as much as other areas, but is still very well cleaned! And the bedroom has a sliding patio door right out to the hot tub. 3 more bedrooms upstairs, another full bath and laundry room, as well as an open sitting area where the kids were able to play. Gas fire pit out front, nice on cool nights. Within walking distance to the beach. We found it easier to drive north, make a u-turn and park when hauling the beach items for the kids. Allowed us to enter the beach where there was less of a down grade too. They have hauled in rock between the cliff and sand, but this wasn't uncomfortable to sit on and actually kept us dry as the kids swam and boogie boarded. Gas stations, grocery stores, WalMart, restaurants and shops all nearby, just quick drives. Great location as we began our vacation in the LA area and ended it in the San Diego area. Hope we can return someday!

Great house, great location

A wonderful, large house that was a great location for a family holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our 5 grandchildren along with their parents. Michelle, the owner, was very responsive throughout the whole time. A short walk to a beautiful beach and a very quiet neighbourhood. Thank you Michelle!!

Comfortable house conveniently located along coast for a family get together

House was comfortable and well equipped with room to spread out and plenty to do - pool table, hot tub, private backyard for relaxing, beach across the street, proximity to area attractions - great for young and old alike. Loved The Flower Fields which were less than 10 minute drive from the house. Be aware that weekend traffic on the 5 and 101 is challenging - allow additional time if you are planning to drive up or down the coast. Enjoyed sea kayak adventure in La Jolla and hiking in Torrey Pines State Park. House is conveniently located to stores which made it easy to self-cater.

Lovely house; Great landlord

We had a great stay here. The house is within walking distance of a beautiful beach and in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Really comfortable beds and everything we could need for our stay.. Great kitchen with first class appliances. There were a couple of minor problems upon our arrival but a phone call to the landlord got everything straightened out thst first day. Thanks for a great holiday.
