Eight year old rental home only 1.5 miles north of Custer about .5 mile off of Sylvan Lake Road (Highway 89) on Elk Valley Road. Home is in the pines and has beautiful views in every direction. Relax on the deck or in the hammock on the lower level patio and watch the deer and wild turkeys who are daily visitors.

Excellent property. Close to activities in the area. Privacy but no need to drive far for things to do. Home is very well furnished and clean We will definitely stay again.

The best VRBO we’ve stayed in. Excellent beds, very comfortable furnishings, extremely well stocked. You can’t go wrong. Minutes from Custer State Park, grocery store and restaurants but in a rural, peaceful setting. Loved seeing all the deer and turkeys every afternoon.

This was an amazing home in such a convenient location to explore the area. It is in a quiet area just far enough from town to drink coffee on the deck while watching deer and turkey but close enough to run into town if need be.Stan and Shirley thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable. We have stayed in many vacation homes and this one was by far stocked better than any before. The house was spotless and the beds were very comfortable.The check in and out process was simple and went very smoothly and communication couldn’t have been better. There is a game room downstairs and they have many games to play both inside and outside. This was a perfect place to get away and enjoy God’s creation!!

This home was excellent in every way. Location is close to town and the parks. Fully furnished over and above. View was relaxing and the host is very accommodating. We would highly recommend and would stay again.

Excellent rental house in Custer State Park! This house is so well stocked with everything you need and more. Our kids enjoyed the outside playset and air hockey table in the basement. We even used the cards and games they have at the house. This house is very close to all that Custer State Park has to offer including Sylvan lake where we ended up going multiple times during our stay. The hosts are very quick to reply and very accommodating! We loved staying here!

We had a great stay at this home! The location was ideal—close to everything we wanted to explore in the Black Hills and easy to get to. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, utensils, and even our favorite Keurig coffee pods. Our kids loved spending time in the basement, which was perfect for games and movie nights. We also enjoyed watching deer and turkeys wander through the yard each morning. It truly felt like a comfortable home away from home, and we’d gladly stay here again!

We had an amazing stay! Our family of four loved sitting on the deck, watching the wild life, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and playing in the game room in the basement. The house was immaculate, well stocked, and so comfortable. We would highly recommend and would come back in a blink of an eye.

Great place to stay in the Black Hills!

This house was so lovely! From relaxing on the back porch to playing games in the basement, we had a total blast! The house has all the amenities, is in a great location near Custer, and you can see local wildlife from the home! This home was above and beyond our expectations! We will definitely stay here again while visiting the area.

The Burger's were the best host's and their property exceeded our expectations. They had almost every single accommodation we needed, except a bedroom fan which was immediately brought to the house upon asking Shirley if she had one. The location in custer was centrally located to so many great attractions and just a 5 minute drive to the downtown. The location was so peaceful and we saw a beautiful deer family right by the property everytime we drove back and forth. I would highly recommend this property!!!

Our stay was amazing. So organized, instructions were great. House was clean and the kids had so much fun with the games inside the house and outside. Beautiful location.

Beautiful property!

We loved our stay. The house was beautiful and super clean. Close enough to the main attractions. Homeowners were very responsive to any questions we had.

A great home away from home

The house was amazing and made a great trip even better. It was the most well stocked house we have stayed in with all of the kitchen essentials that are frustrating to have to buy on vacation. Very clean and comfortable!

Place to stay near Custer SD

This was a great accommodation. Things were "as advertised". The owner had paid great attention to detail and it shows. Great stay.

We have always enjoyed vacationing in the Black Hills with our children over the years. As we near retirement we chose to build this home in the Custer area to be closer to our children and grandchildren who now live in Colorado.

We spent about 5 years searching for just the right place to build this home and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. It is close enough to Custer, Hill City & even Rapid City for all of our needs, and yet secluded enough to provide the peace and quiet that we long for as we near retirement.
