This cozy cottage is located less than two miles west of the Mackinac Bridge on the North shore of Lake Michigan. This vacation getaway comes complete with Cable, Wi-Fi, phone, kitchen, king bed, queen bed, twin bed, and a glassed in porch for viewing Lake Michigan and the many freighters passing by.

It has a Mackinac Bridge view as well as a view of the sunset, and a fire pit feet from Lake Michigan. Located on Pte Labarbe Road just off of route 2, the location is close to many local attractions.

Perfect place on the shore.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Every night spend on the deck or in the yard listening to the waves and catching a sunset. The road was quiet and the yard was peaceful. Will be looking to stay in the future.

DON'T HESITATE TO BOOK HERE!

This property is literal perfection. This was our third consecutive year coming up to the U.P. from Tennessee, and this was the best lodging we've had yet. Admittedly, we're not hikers or boaters or kayakers - we come up to sit and soak. and this was PERFECT for that. Any time of day was wonderful to go out and sit in the swing and just lake watch. Perfectly appointed accomodations with everything we needed. Easy check-in and check-out process. Five stars - two thumbs up - 10/10!

Quiet and relaxing

GREAT Property and Location!

Great property and responsive owner (I really appreciated that). We had minor challenge with tv. Also, suggestion: the bathroom could use more light and the shower would benefit from a safety bar.

Great Stay!

We loved our stay here. The home is very comfortable and a great place to relax. The views from the backroad are amazing. Beautiful views of the bridge and picture perfect sunsets. We will stay here again.

Furniture and bridge view

The furniture was quite uncomfortable. Another recliner and full size couch would be great. Was hoping to walk down to water, but the rocks and rock wall kept me from doing so. The steps out front were too steep for me. I have bad knees so it was very difficult for me to walk down them. Lastly, the bushes out back drew lots of bugs at night. The stay itself was very nice and was glad to get away. The beds were very comfortable!

Labor Day Weekend

This property is right on the water and offered spectacular sunsets and freighter watching. The bridge is amazing at night. Given the holiday, we were also treated to some fireworks in Mackinaw City. It is a pleasant little cabin and suited our needs nicely. It was very nice not being in the hustle and congestion of Mackinaw City as we did the bridge walk and the access from the St. Ignace was easy to navigate. St. Ignace is a very nice, quiet little town.

Relaxing

Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. The lake view was wonderful. The property manager kept us well informed concerning scheduling and was very prompt with answering any and all questions we had. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Helpful hosts!

The property was great - a view of the bridge with Mackinaw fireworks in sight from a well-placed swing. Place was comfortable, very cottage-like. Sleeping to the sound of water was wonderful. It would be helpful if the property had some kind of grill. And the coast is pretty rocky - being water shoes if you plan to take to dip! Hosts were great - very responsive and helpful!

Wonderful

We loved being on the water, view of the bridge and seeing ships. The place was comfortable and relaxing after long days of sightseeing. The washer and dryer were plus.

Great Get Away

Shipwatch Point was a perfect get away. The home was very clean and stocked with all essentials. The view and sunsets were stunning. Close proximity to the Mackinac Island ferries made daytime excursions very easy, we even just went over for a nice dinner one evening. While it was a very relaxing trip we did need to do some work and the internet worked very well for both of us to be working remotely. We were able to stream TV shows without buffering or glitches. We hope time and schedule allow for a return visit.

The view from this property is wonderful. The home had everything we needed and more. It was very conveniently located to all the Great Lakes for some great rock hunting 😊 communication was quick and friendly… highly recommend for your family vacation.

Aurora Borealis as elusive as Sasquatch!

Property is right on the water and we had an AMAZING view of the bridge that so many photos hyped the Aurora Borealis to be seen with. Unfortunately as much as we tried, we were unable to catch a glimpse of it during our stay. We enjoyed having coffee out on the three season porch watching the waves roll onto the shore and barges dredging out on the water...recommend to trim the branches at about 10 feet so the lake view could be seen better. The home was well maintained , very clean and cozy. First shower we found that it does take quite a while for the hot water to start flowing. Vising St. Ignace when we did was the perfect time if one wanted to avoid the crowds and tourists. It was an enjoyable, relaxing week for us and would definitely consider going back!

Favorite St. Ignace property

We have now stayed at Shipwatch Pointe seventeen times. Each year we hope to return and eagerly anticipate the quiet, private home and view. The house is perfectly clean and newly updated. It's all about the view and location. Perfect base camp and relaxation spot. Looking forward to returning again soon.
