The style of the yurt is fun. The host is welcoming. If you aren't bothered by detached showers and filling up bottles of water to drink and clean, this is an excellent option.

Third year to come up! We love the yurt. We always find great hikes to go on during the day and at night we see who else is out and about during the night at the camp site.We'll be back next year!

I highly recommend Eagle Yurt at Wilderness Wind. The host, Randy, was very responsive and had great recommendations. Jay the property manager was amazing. He checked in on us every night to see if we needed anything. Jay also had great recommendations for food and hikes. We had a great time. Thank you!

Loved the property! Friendly host with a very cute dog, amazing facilities, right on the lake with a dock, boats, common cooking area and grill. We stayed here as a wildland firefighter crew so had very little down time to enjoy the space but always looked forward to hot showers and some good rest in a beautiful place at the end of the day. Highly recommend and hope to return under different circumstances.

Great family getaway

We had a wonderful stay with our two grandchildren. Since another family member was staying at one of the lakeside cabins, we really appreciated the Chickadee Landing gazebo as a central place for meals. The beach was the highlight for the boys.

Wonderful Experience at Wilderness Wind

We had a great time at Wilderness Wind. The yurt is fantastic and spacious. Jay and Sammy were great hosts. It was a wonderful base for hiking and exploring. One of our best northern MN experiences ever!

Peaceful get-away

The communication prior to arrival was awesome and Jay helped us with our reservations even. The resort had everything we needed and was perfect for our young girls to explore. They played in the sand, went fishing, and played with other kids that were staying in the cabins. Definitely planning to be back!

Amazing getaway!

We were excited for our first stay in a yurt and it didn’t disappoint! The accommodations were great. The kids loved kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The adults loved the peaceful and relaxed vibes, while supporting a great cause supporting rye Chicago Voyagers. We’d love to book again in the future.

MN Fishing trip

Excellent location for fishing different lakes each day. Armstrong is a great Bass lake. The camp host - Jay was very accommodating and was knowledgeable of the fishing on the other lakes nearby. We had a great week. We would highly recommend Wilderness Wind to anyone that likes the outdoor adventure. Thanks, 5 Guys from Topeka, Kansas

Wonderful, rustic, very clean with friendly and helpful staff. Surrounded by raspberry and elderberry plants, probably ready to pick late July. Quiet, peaceful, with bushes n trees providing a bit of privacy. Very clean bathhouse. Jay was great.

We had a really great time staying at the Eagle Yurt. The only real confusion we had was towards the lack of sheets on the beds, and it was a bit difficult to reach the five gallon bucket from the sink- it looked like the last people to stay there hadn’t bothered to dump it.

We always wanted to stay in a yurt. This place was great! I'm only taking one star off because it didn't have a bathroom, but that was communicated clearly up front so I have no issues with that. The price just seems too high for a place without running water or a toilet. Otherwise it was gorgeous. The owner came by and chatted and set up a fire by the lake for everyone to use. There were kayaks and a paddle boat to use plus a dock for fishing. The place was clean and just as described. I really liked it. It was super quiet and had nice dark skies.

Exposure to the Wilderness

Wilderness Wind was a great place to show our teen-age grandchildren, who are bicultural, the place we moved to Minnesota for, and the place their father learned to enjoy from the age of 2. Kayaks, S’mores, big mosquitos, and loons were part of our visit. Not the best place for elderly grandparents, but at ages 83&85, we managed without any unpleasant consequences. We even canoed diagonally across the lake and back without assistance.

Second Annual in the books!

This was our second summer trip to Wildnerness Wind because we were drawn back to our host Jay and his property for the awesome fishing, kayaking and ease of stay. The cabins on Lake Armstrong have all the amenities you would need on short notice. Definitely need bugspray, but as expected for an "up north summer vacation spot." We had a lovely time with family and the YURT was a great space to hangout and relax. Our younger aged kids (5-13) loved just hanging out in there playing games to break up the time from fishing and sun. Would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for an easy getaway. Family friendly and (small dog) friendly too. Will be back!

Great place

My kids, mom and her partner stayed here for a weekend. The property is beautiful. For reference- there is no running water to the yurt. They do provide 5 gallon water jugs for drinking. The dish wash station is in front of the bathhouse. The screens coverings for the doors had some holes in it from previous guests so we had to watch when we could keep the doors open or not. It would be nice to use some screen repair tape to fix the holes. This did not take away from our experience. We would definitely come back
