Peaks Island Cottage with beautiful view of Whitehead passage

This well appointed seasonal cottage has everything you need to enjoy your family vacation on one of Casco Bay’s calendar islands. Peaks is a 20 min ferry boat ride out of Portland. Far enough to get away and close enough to enjoy and explore the Old Port and it’s wonderful shops and fantastic restaurants. License #STHR-000495-2018

The beach is just a short walk to Hadlocks Cove, an island favorite for sea glass and exploring the tidal pools.

Your rental includes all bath towels and bed linens.

The cottage is meticulously cared for and has all of the necessities for a relaxing island trip. With it’s well stocked kitchen, shelves of books, very comfy beds, prime location, and thoughtful owners, it was a perfect get-away for our multi-generational family. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wonderful Peaks Island Stay

Wonderful location for a laid-back family/friend vacation! The house was very clean and comfortable, stocked with coffee and staples. The walk to shops and restaurants is easy and the view is spectacular.

You'll love staying here!!!

We totally enjoyed our stay at this cottage! It was perfectly clean, very cozy, and really well outfitted with everything we needed - especially the kitchen! The location is ideal - just half a mile from the ferry (and all the restaurants and shops on the main street), a 5 minute walk from a rocky beach that's perfect for a sunset dinner, 3 blocks from the Sandy Beach, and just around the corner from the spectacular ocean side of the island!!! Margee is a fantastic host - helpful, kind, very accommodating, and quick to respond both before and during our stay. We can't wait to return to Clarke Cottage!

Perfect family cottage

The cottage was just as described and had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the cleanliness and little personal touches that made our stay so enjoyable. The location is perfect for a quick walk to shops and restaurants while allowing for a quiet retreat.

Perfect getaway

This immaculate cottage is well maintained and in a great location with easy access to the ferry, the shoreline walking route, restaurants and more. If you forgot something it is likely there, as the owners have thought of everything! The decor is charming and warm. The house is well loved. So much nicer than a sterile hotel room! The process from booking to checkout was very easy with excellent communication from Margee. Five stars all around!

Cozy, clean, easy to access

We had a lovely time! Our friends were getting married around the corner at the Lions Club and the the location couldn’t have been more convenient!!! The cottage was cozy, charming, and had easy access to a secluded, rocky beach. Our time in Peaks was absolutely dreamy.

Great Peaks Vacation

We had a wonderful experience. Great communication, easy check in, and even a mid stay refresh of linens and cleaning provided. The location could not be beat, with views, ocean breezes and picnic point right there to explore. The cottage had everything needed and gave a cozy feel along with some history. The front porch is perfect to enjoy a book while having a view and nice breeze. A great family getaway.

Perfect location!

Perfect location on the island, close to ferry, restaurants and the history museum. The house has everything you need. It’s truly a cottage and is very cozy. I woke up to the sounds of the ocean. 10/10 recommend!

Just the space we needed

Margee's cottage is such a great family home. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. If I couldn't find something, Margee responded within minutes to my question. The kitchen has more than everything you'd ever need to make anything. The beds are beyond comfortable, especially when you wake up to the rain on the roof above you, it's impossible to get out of bed. :) The bathrooms are small, but definitely still met our needs. Plenty of extra blankets and towels. Since it is a very established house that has seen many seasons, the floors and stairs creak a bit and the walls are a bit thin. If you have children that take naps or are light sleepers, I'd recommend bringing noise machines. There are box fans that can be used to cancel out the noise as well. My daughter did not have a problem taking her naps due to any extra noise. We loved walking down to the cove to skip rocks on the shore or collect interesting ones. The drive/bike around the island is incredible. This place just calls you to be outside exploring. Just beautiful. We had a memorable and excellent time. Thank you, Margee!

Front porch delight

The Clarke house is so authentically rustic with the updated amenities that we all need in this day and age that it makes it a lovely, charming place to put your feet up and relax. I have never seen a place that is so thoughtfully and plentifully stocked with everything you might need. Very close to a rocky beach and you can see it from the porch. Also very close to the center of the port where the ferry comes in. Would definitely stay here again if ever visiting the island in the future.

Quiet retreat

We had a fabulous stay on Peaks! We loved reading or enjoying cocktails on the front porch, with a view of the water, having coffee on the back deck in the mornings and eating dinner and playing games around the dining room table at night. This vintage cottage is clean and so well thought out and has literally everything you could want or need. The one full bathroom is right, but the beds are comfy. Walking distance to rocky and sandy beaches and a 5 minute walk to “town”. It is a quiet, slow pace and the 3 restaurants in town close at 8, but it was the relaxing break we were looking for. Margie was great: responsive and so friendly! Can’t wait to return next summer!

A truly authentic beach cottage

We loved our stay at Clarke Cottage and could tell that the cottage was cherished throughout the years and generations. It is well stocked for families and modernized without losing the original feel and island charm. The sun porch and back deck area are inviting . The neighborhood is in a lively area of Peak’s and the port and Hannigan’s are walkable. You can see some water from the sun porch and easily walk to the rocky shore. Light sleepers should choose a bedroom to the rear.

Location, everything there, comfortable.

- Location is great. 5 minutes walk to ferry, market, cafe, bike rental. - Everything is there that you may need, and I mean everything! - Beds are really comfortable. - Screened in porch in front, deck in back, view of ocean. - Large kitchen, dishwasher. - Friendly, accommodating owners.
