This Hyannis beach cottage at Sea Street Beach is the epitome of an adorable beach getaway for couples and even small families for beach-combing, as a home-base for Cape Cod excursions, and carefree summertime relaxation.

The Space: The two-story cottage offers an outdoor area that is a private & fenced for dining and games, has a deck with KitchenAid gas grill, and fire pit.
Inside, the experience continues with well-equipped living space on two levels offering separate living and sleeping areas and a full kitchen fit for a several day stay.

Located just 2/10 of a mile stroll away from the warm, sandy beaches of Nantucket Sound, guests can enjoy sunning and swimming, while being close enough to return to the cottage for lunch and bathroom breaks. The cottage is a 3-minute drive or 15-minute walk to the shopping, restaurants, and homemade ice cream emporiums of Downtown Hyannis — a lovely way to spend an evening after a day at the beach!

Good thing in a small package!

This house really worked well for us. Clean, well-equipped, walk to beach, shady trees, and great a/c. I would totally recommend this for a getaway.

perfect location!

Maria’s place is clean and comfortable. It’s literally steps from the beach and a short walk to Main Street for dining and shopping. The yard is fully fenced and pets are allowed so our dog enjoyed our vacation also. The area around the house is beautiful for walking - gorgeous homes and ocean views. We’ve stayed at Maria’s place twice so far and are hoping to return again.

Close to the Beach

This cottage is a short walk to a sandy, warm beach! The property was clean and the host was responsive when we had questions. This cottage is better for couples than young families - there is no door to the basement bedroom.

Sweet Little Cottage

Rented the cottage to work for a few days on the Cape before vacation. Had what we needed. Could use a few more bowls of all sizes but otherwise was enjoyable. Close to beach too.

Perfect Location

The cozy cottage was a perfect distance from the beach so we didn't have to worry about parking and could easily come back if we forgot something or to take a break and have lunch. It was a quick ride into town but is also walkable. There is a path and sidewalks near the house which was nice for early morning and evening walks. While the inside was clean, with well working air conditioning, there could be some maintainance as to the bathroom sink and outside landscaping. This was by no means a deal breaker and the house was lovely in all other respects for our family's needs.

Cottage close to the beach

We enjoyed our time together & being within walking distance of the non-busy beach was great! We had an enjoyable fire on the last night to top the vacation off. The cottage was functional for those who would be out more than they are in, an efficiency with more privacy. Neighbors were quiet as well. Easy to access the location and pretty close to everything you want to do. There are things that need to be addressed and I will send these along in a separate communication.

Lovely!

This place was lovely. Clean and close to the beach! My only complaint is that there was not enough cooking supplies (pots, pans, spatula, baking sheets, etc). Because I stayed for a few weeks, I planned on cooking more but was somewhat limited by supplies. And no cleaning supplies aside from carpet cleaner. A set of drawers in the bedroom closet for clothes would have been helpful as well. Overall loved the place and appreciate the AC installation during my stay! Thank you!

Not representative of listing or up to par

The cottage is not well maintained. The bathroom pedestal sink is sealed to the wall with tape. There’s no full sized mirror in the bathroom, only a small shaving/makeup mirror. The bathroom door was jammed shut when we arrived. Thankfully we were able to open it. Fixtures had rust stains. Back yard is unkept and covered in course gravel too jagged for dogs to comfortably walk on. “Bedroom “ is merely the basement which is musty requiring dehumidifier constantly running. Low ceilings in several areas required the owner to put padding on corners to protect guest heads. Property is located in private drive which is common but this one resembled a junk yard with broken down cars. Front yard is an over grown mess. Fence is held together by zip ties and swayed so much in the wind that I felt it was soon to fall over. After traveling 500+ miles over 10 hours we had to laugh to keep from crying. This experience makes me question using VRBO again.

Terrible experience

The pictures of this house do not tell the real story with this property. The carpet, sofa and rug were absolutly filthy. The smell of damp was overwhelming when we arrived and it stayed despite our efforts at leaving the windows open. It was a very unpleasant musty smell that was horrible. There is too much old furniture that simply takes up too much space which is limited upstairs. Two full suites of furniture - why???? The outside space looks lovely in the pictures but is actually dirty, with filthy worn out cushions thrown everywhere, dog poo not cleaned up from previous visitors, water bottles left there and the whole place had an air of neglect about it. There was a toilet seat in a box sitting on the table when we arrived and a box with an old coffee machine just sitting in the middle of the floor. There was no kettle and the kitchen cupboards are full of old kitchen equipement that no one has bothered to throw out. The lamps beside the bed are not the ones in the picture and are unsafe in our experience. I find it hard to believe the previous reviews as they bear no resemblence to the reality of our experience. This house represents very bad value for money and it was not a pleasant experience staying here. On the upside the toilet and the shower did work perfectly and the area is nice.

Great bachelor pad

But not necessarily for a family even with one child. the property would work best as a romantic getaway spot for a couple who go out to eat. The kitchen area was very small, no dish drain, the small bistro table only seats two .there was more seating in the yard and if meals were mostly on the grill the accommodations were better. The bathroom was a postage stamp and while perfectly utilitarian was at times difficult to negotiate. The location was great, very short walk to the beach and a pleasant boardwalk for walking the dog..some recommendations: dish drain in kitchen, maybe something other than dinner plates,fridge is noisy and needs defrosting,,trash receptacle in the downstairs bedroom area and maybe a second TV to give someone using the fold away bed more privacy.,a table that can seat 4 upstairs would also be a welcomed addition.and it would not take that much more space.

Best Getaway!!

This property was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. We were fortunate enough to bring our dogs as well and bring them on walks everyday in the neighborhood. Clean, comfortable, safe and in such a beautiful location!

Just as advertised!

This is a hidden gem! Just a quick walk to the beach and handy to shopping and dining. This cottage is very comfortable and the neighborhood is very quiet...perfect for a relaxing stay.

Had a great stay and would recommend

My wife and I stayed at the property for a week. We really enjoyed the location of the property, which was very close to the beach as well as the downtown area. FYI, we loved the Sea Street Cafe for breakfast, which is right up the street. The house itself was very clean and although modestly sized, the space is very well utilized. The property had everything we needed for our vacation including A/C, which being by the beach is very nice to cut the humidity. It always felt great when coming back from the beach or a walk and slept great each night. By the end of the week it was beginning to feel like home. We would recommend this property.

Perfect Cozy Nest!

This was the perfect little nest situated in the perfect spot for seeing all of the Cape. Even though it was small (which is what I wanted), it was bright, light, and very open feeling. Super clean. We also loved the little enclosed courtyard which was the perfect shady spot to have a glass of wine and sort our shells. The host was incredibly nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this property.

Great little cottage

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. The cottage was clean and perfect for what we needed (also was able to have our dog with us!). It’s a short walk to the beach, which was wonderful. The beach was perfect with very little crowds (after Labor Day). It’s close to all the shops and restaurants (about a 5 min drive at most). The backyard was private and we enjoyed the fire pit. Maria was quick to answer any questions I had. Highly recommended for couples or if you have a small child (it not very big but plenty of room).

Excellent location

The cottage only had the bare essentials -- but that didn't matter because the location was great. There is so much to do in Hyannis and the surrounding towns. The cottage is a 5 minute walk to a very beautiful beach, less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Hyannis where there are a ton of good restaurants and bars. 20-30 minute drive to Brewster and Dennis where we spent a lot of time walking on the tidal flats with our dog. The little beach neighborhood felt very quiet and safe -- would highly recommend over staying near main street. The cottage does have a fully fenced in yard/patio area which was convenient for our dog, the few hours that we spent "at home" and we could leave her outside.

Cozy Cottage

Overall, we had a great week here! The cottage was very clean and in a great location for a short walk to the beach and downtown. My husband and I were very happy with the inside. It had what we needed for two people. The outside left very little to be desired. The landscape was not at all what is in the pictures. The yard was full of branches, leaves, random trash and old dirty furniture we wouldn’t sit on. The front yard was littered with rotten apples from a neighboring tree. I spent time each day clearing the apples from the walkways. If the outside was kept up with, this would be the perfect spot.
