Great stay

We had a great stay here. Everything went smoothly and it was almost spotless when we arrived. Loved the location in proximity to the beach. The only negatives were that there was no dishwashing detergent provided and the coffee maker was completely disgusting when we arrived/ hadn’t been cleaned properly.

Hi Katie. I am so sorry for your inconvenience. There should have been dish detergent ( at least a start up). For the coffee maker trouble, there are no excuses for that not being clean. I am so sorry, help there is just not 100% on top of things. I am so so sorry again. Please don't let that be the image our place left on you. Come back again and I will make sure everything is how is supposed to be.

Great Stay!

We had a great time in Surf City. The complex is in a great location and just a short walk to the beach. The unit was stocked with a lot of essentials to get us started for the week. It is nicely decorated, spacious and clean. This was our first time visiting. We’ll be back!

A restful and beautiful beach getaway.

We had a wonderful experience. The house is well-maintained and comfortable. The pool was right outside our door which made it great for our kids. The beach is a short walk (approx. 5 minutes) away. And the homeowner was responsive to our needs...even on the July 4th holiday. An overall great place to stay!

Great place to lay your head

Loved the place and location. Pros, very clean, great communication, plenty of room. Had couple small issues and was resolved quickly. Cons, upstairs doesnt cool well, about 70 degrees. Had so much family fun and owner was awesome.

Close enough

The property was spacious providing enough room for all family members to relax and sleep. The kitchen and dining area provided ample table/chair/island/stools for my crew. The kitchen totally stocked with any size of sauce and fry pans, casserole dishes and utensils that you would need.The pool was outside the main entrance and the beach access close enough that the younger children could tote their beach toys with ease. The host was efficient and a joy to talk with! My family truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return again!

Awesome location and Nicely Decorated

Fit our needs perfectly 7 Adults and 2 Teens. Very clean and well stocked. Neighbors were friendly and pool was decent for property. The only thing is we did need to use the fans in the bedrooms to sleep and the main floor stays warm. Thermostat is fixed to 72, so it isnt very cool especially on upper level. Other than that would stay again and recommend to family & friends. Thanks for having us

Hi Nora, I am glad you guys had a great time. Sorry about the thermostat but it s the only way we can control the utilities as people will remember to keep the outside doors closet to keep the area cool. Hope you come back next year to stay with us again.

Summer vacation

The condo was nice however upon arrival the top floor was extremely hot, it took about 3 hours to cool down. The refrigerator wasn’t cool until the next morning. The garbage disposal wasn’t working, it took my husband over an hour to get it running. The 2nd floor bathroom sink was clogged (full of hair) so my husband had to unclog it as well. We had a nice time and loved the short walk to the beach.

I am so sorry for all the inconvenience. As I mentioned, when people leave the fridge open for a while to unload and then come in and load it to the max, it takes time to stabilize; this happens. I first thought it was a problem with the fridge, but after reading several articles about it, it seems to be a common issue. I never know about a clogged sink until someone tells me. I am sorry again. I had the HVAC service before the beginning of summer that should not happen.

Great home.

The home was nice. Could have been a little cleaner, but nothing too bad. The dryer was broken and I didn't know until the day of arrival. Then I was the one who set up the appt. With the repair place after Fab, the owner had called them and i. They showed up on Thursday, two days before we left, and didn't have the part to fix it. So we could do no laundry after a week. That was frustrating. I tried to get in touch with Fab to let her know and got no response. Also frustrating.

I am sorry for the inconvenience with the dryer but I didn't know it wasn't working until Friday before your arrival as the previous renter went to do laundry and found out. I put a call in to get it fix asap but the people weren't available until Thursday to come and take a look to find out the problem. They had to order the part and unfortunately, it didn't come until the following Tuesday. I am so sorry for your inconvenience.

Wrong code was initially given and had to wait for someone to contact us back about an hour upon check-in, linens had stains, AC didn’t seem to work well on the upper floor, multiple curtain rods falling down due to not being anchored, closet door not attached and there were several very large roaches in the unit. The bathroom shower in the master had mold. We brought most of these issues to the managers attention except the roaches and mold. We were delivered sheets 2 days later but were fussed at for not letting her know they weren’t delivered when they were supposed to. We had to point out that new filters were needed. Maintenance guy put in the wrong size filters and didn’t fix the falling down curtain rod. We paid way too much money for these circumstances. Please take our review and use it to better your unit for future customers. Otherwise, it was in a nice location and could be a nice rental. I can provide photos if necessary.

I am so sorry for your bad experience. We try to make everyone's time here as enjoyable as possible. I am not sure how you were given the wrong code I rely on the cleaning crew to let me know if there are any issues with the house or anything broken that needs to be fixed after every guest leaves. Sometimes they don't get back to me on things, and without knowing that there is an issue, I can't take care of it. I try to be as responsive as possible. Yes, I was disappointed that the sheets weren't delivered on time, and I couldn't have anticipated it would take two days unless you told me. As per the stain sheets, it is beyond my control that the sheets were stained. I have to buy a few sheets every summer because people are not careful and sheets get stained, but they were definitely clean, as I promised. As for the code, we did not give you the wrong code. The door lock was disconnected from the wifi, and that's why your personal code did not work. I am sorry we did not get back to you about that on time.

Beautiful beach

There were pros and cons. I will begin with the cons. First, understanding that we are amid a pandemic, we accepted the closure of the pool. This being said, when we booked, there was no pandemic and the pool was a part of why we booked. We have been offered no partial refund. Second, the dryer did not work the entire week we were there which led to some stress. It appears the cleaning person did not inform the owner of the issue. Again, we booked expecting certain amenities. And again, we have been offered no refund to rectify this. We had to drive home with wet towels and suits since they could not dry in time for departure. Third, it should have been cleaner. There was hair in the tubs and the floors were filthy. I think the owner will be addressing this so that is a plus for future renters. Which brings me to the positives. The owner was a prompt communicator. The location was great. The place was beautifully decorated. Had it not been for the aforementioned issues, I would give it a 5 star rating. Had we been offered some kind of refund for the lack of amenities, I would have given it 5 stars.

Hi Shannon, I understand your frustration. I was only informed that the dryer wasn't working right before your arrival and with this pandemic, it was very hard to get someone there on a timely matter. As far as the pool goes, it is unfortunate that it didn't open all summer but it was for everyone's protection and completely out of my control. It was a community decision and we just following the state guidelines. I am working diligently to make sure the cleaning crew is on top of their game and I apologize again for your inconvenience..

Wonderful stay- close enough to let kids walk to beach and back alone. Pool is a bit small, but sufficient. Overall lovely!

Very nice stay in Surf City townhouse

The townhouse is very nicely decorated and the kitchen was stocked with everything you might need! It was a very comfortable place to vacation. Fabiola was very responsive when we were experiencing problems with cooling the townhouse in the evening. Thanks for a nice vacation stay!

Great beach stay

Our family found this beach home very comfortable and convenient to the beach and local eateries. Fabiola was a great communicator responding within the hour and accommodating our needs. This lovely home has a well-stocked kitchen with all the utensils and cookware needed. We brought our own coffeemakers though one was provided. Our only disappointment was that the pool was not open which would've really helped with my elderly mom and 4 year old grand-daughter. We would love to stay here again!!! Thx!

Great Surf City location!

Overall, I give this property 5 stars. The beach block location is about as close as you can be without being ocean front. The kitchen was well stocked (sharp Wustof knives were a plus), except there wasn’t any dish soap or trash bags. When we weren’t on the beach we enjoyed the top deck on the comfortable high-top Adirondack chairs. We were happy to have the linens included with the beds made when we arrived. Checkin was a breeze. Sadly, the pool was closed and an unsightly green, but we were aware since the listing noted it opens after Memorial Day. However, the condos were the nicest in Surf City, with a bay view and mature palms rustling in the wind. Overall, It was a lovely stay and the easy access to the beach was awesome!!

I moved to North Carolina from Brazil in 1997 to help my twin sister, a young widow, care for her niece. I have lived in Raleigh and Wake Forest since. Today, I share a home with my husband - Alec ( New Yorker born), my 16-year-old daughter - Molly, and 2 cute dogs, an adorable cockapoo - Louie, and a cute Yorkie - Oliver, who is absolutely my passion.
In 2018 ( my husband and I) decided to sell a long-term rental property and buy a vacation rental. This way, we could still own a rental but have the opportunity to enjoy it.
We started looking at the entire coast of NC. My first search was in Emerald Isle where I have visited with friends - a calm area but I bit further from home. Then Carolina Beach - a very busy area but closer to home.
My Fabulous agent sent us this property, and we fell in love. It's in a calm area like Emerald Isle and close to home, like Carolina Beach.

Our first thought was that we wanted a property close to the beach and beach access.
I loved the primary suite option, with the living areas on the top floor and the other bedrooms on the second floor. I am sure you will love it, too. The layout and open floor plan were just what we were looking for.
