Superior Comfort is located 3 miles East of Grand Marais Minnesota- voted "Coolest Small Town". Property is a newly built beautiful family home with a large Deck facing Lake Superior. Spacious Master Bedroom with access to deck and views of Lake Superior. Gourmet Kitchen that is fully stocked with every appliance you may desire. Each of 3 large bedrooms fully furnished and outfitted with luxury linens. 2 Extra large bathrooms each with double vanities, private toilet room, Deep soaker tubs (on demand hot water so you will never run out) and towels and luxury soaps provided.
Plenty of board games, puzzles, movies or books to keep everyone entertained. Lawn games in summer or sleds for winter included.
Bluetooth surround sound speakers.
Open Concept floor plan is great for family vacations or getaway with friends.

Fantastic spot close to Grand Marais

The property feels secluded and is only a few minutes from Grand Marais. Very clean and comfortable, thoughtful touches throughout the home made our weekend away feel special. Owner was very responsive to any questions. We loved our stay!

Grand Marais Getaway

Great place just north of downtown Grand Marais. Easy access to downtown and all of the great outdoors the Northwoods have to offer. Definitely would come again!

Comfy and scenic

The home is large and well appointed. All tge furniture and beds were comfortable. The hosts provided thoughtful treats and comforts such as robes, sparkling water, candies, and coffee. The view was great and close to Grand Marais. Would definately recommend.

It was a beautiful home, nice well stocked kitchen. a few steps up to the deck, with our luggage. The fireplace did not work but they, had cozy blankets.

Excellent spot for a relaxing family vacation

Wow! Alicia’s place is the perfect spot for a family trip up north! All the comforts of home with a luxurious feel. The kitchen is well appointed with all things we needed to make our favorite family meals. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Overall excellent! The location is beautiful and right in the middle of the beautiful north shore. Thanks for a great trip!

Loved this location

We spent time at this beautiful home enjoying the kitchen, the views from the beautiful deck and the comfy beds. We have stayed in quite a few vacation homes and this one is at the top of our list. Alicia is wonderful to interact with and has added so many touches to be welcome. It starts with the welcome basket and water and chocolates in the beds rooms. We loved eating on the deck as well as reading there…I often looked at the lake reminding myself what a beautiful view that it is. Would stay here again and happily recommend to friends.

Family Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! We stayed here in 2021 and were happy to be returning to a familiar place. The common spaces were a great way for us to gather with additional family members who were staying at a different rental property. Lovely view and the outside flowers were so beautiful. We look forward to returning!

Grand Marais Haven

The VRBO website information on this home was spot on. It was a beautiful, comfy home that welcomed you as soon as you opened the door. So many thoughtful touches, including coffee, syrup and jam. The furnishings are beautiful. I would definitely recommend this house!!

Perfect Grand Marais Rental!

This is the second time we have stayed at Superior Comfort just outside of Grand Marais. We loved the place so much the first time we stayed, that we decided to come back for a 4th of July getaway to the North Shore. We love so many things about this rental: the proximity to Grand Marais, the large yard for the kids to play, the deck overlooking Lake Superior, the high-end decor, the many amenities for a visiting family. We can't recommend this place more! If you're a family and you need a few bedrooms in a rental that feels like home (and you're sick of staying in cramped hotel/motel), you have to pick this place!

Beautiful home and beautiful location

We had a great time staying here. The driveway up to the house is quite steep and was very icy when we were there. It was sanded and we were warned however, it was still a bit scary. The parking area in front of the garage was also very icy and not very sanded so it was tough bringing bags and stuff back and forth. But you can’t always prevent ice. The house itself had everything we could possibly need and plenty of space! We would definitely stay again!

A Very Nice House, but...

The house itself is beautiful with many lovely details. We were notified by email that check-in was 3 pm or after. The owner said, no, it is 4 pm and she didn't know why VRBO would notify us otherwise. A trivial thing, but the confusion started our stay on a sour note. (check the listing, as of this writing it says 2 different things. Which would be an owner mistake, not a VRBO mistake.) More importantly, we made this reservation for late August in January 2021. After both of my husbands' parents died, a Celebration of Lives was scheduled at the tail end our trip, so in May my husband requested a refund for 1 night, just 1 night, of an 8 night stay, as we had to check out a day early to attend and officiate the event. Given plenty of time to work something out, the owner has refused. This may violate their own policy. But even if it doesn't, it shows no regard for our circumstances.

LOVED This North Shore Getaway - New Favorite Spot!!

My family and I stayed here for a quick weekend trip up North and absolutely loved this house. I was nervous booking this place since no one had reviewed it yet, but there was nothing to worry about! The hosts/owners are clearly very experienced in hospitality and have thought of everything! The gift basket they left was filled with homemade and local treats (I won't go into too much detail so you can be as surprised as us!). Check-in was simple (we got a code for the key) and the house was super clean. The kitchen and dining room were perfect for cooking a big family celebration dinner. The master bathroom seriously feels like a spa. Both bathrooms have separate toilet rooms which is good for group trips! Everyone said their beds were all comfortable. A nice bonus was how separated the bedrooms all were from each other - it definitely gave us all plenty of privacy which is good for these big family trips! ;) I think one of my favorite things was sneaking out on the deck in the morning as the sun came up with my coffee and a blanket before everyone else woke up. Total peace and a view of Lake Superior. We used the fire pit on the deck in the evening too (INCREDIBLE stars!). The town of Grand Marais is a quick 4 minute drive away, and there's plenty of hiking trails and things to do in the area. We definitely want to come back this winter to stay again for a combined down-hill and cross-country skiing trip. ....and when we do, we will plan ahead to bring a brisket to smoke on their Traeger smoker! Wish we would have had the chance to use it this time! Only thing to note is there are stairs to the upstairs entrance, so it might be difficult for those with severe mobility issues. All in all, I super HIGHLY recommend this house. We won't be staying in any other place or those over priced condos anymore!

This property is awesome!!! It has a beautiful view of Lake Superior and was very convenient to Grand Marais and all the SHT hiking trails. We were very impressed with the shower, the water, chocolates, robes and eye masks :) ; nice touch. Two nights we were able to sit on the deck with a view of the lake on the relaxing couch with the fire and watch the sunset. The only thing this place needs is a hot tub :) We would definitely stay here again. We had a papered, awesome stay! Oh, and the artwork is fabulous!!!!

Appropriately Named

Superior Comfort provided a very comfortable and convenient home base for our North Shore vacation. The little "extras" provided in the well-appointed kitchen and master suite were great to come back to after a day of adventure.

Neat and well-arranged

We had a nice stay at this house. The interior is extremely well- arranged in every regard: spacious kitchen, nice dining table, large bathrooms, nice bedrooms. It actually seemed larger than the pictures in the listing. We had little partial-day trips to Grand Marais (the kids sailing the Hjordis/shopping), Grand Portage Monument and State Parks, and Chik-wauk Center at the end of the Gunflint, Lutsen on the way out; in that respect the location is excellent as well. We also spent a good deal of time relaxing at the house: reading, playing cards, games, including yard games, playing our musical instruments: concertinas, fiddle, guitar, etc, inside and out on the deck. We had a great time at a nice place. Some things to note: although the pictures make the property appear to be somewhat isolated, you seem to be driving right through two neighbors’ yards to get there, coming off 61. The deck actually overlooks one of the neighbor’s back yards, and we were asked, during our stay, to keep a 10pm curfew as a result of that, which is not noted in the house rules in the listing This caught us a little off guard on the longest evening of the year as we were sitting by the fire on the deck playing some nice bluegrass with our instruments. Also, the kitchen is great and had most of what we needed, but if you are staying away from Teflon pans, you will want to bring your own main cooking pans; also, a colander would have been great. (It is really nice having a gas stove.) Also, it would have been nice if the master bedroom had a screened door, but ceiling fans are abundant throughout, and most of the other windows opened to screens and have nice blinds. All in all, a very neat, clean and spacious property with a very nice interior layout. The bathroom tubs and rock shower are great, and the organic coffee and treats were a nice added touch. We had a nice family vacation here with our younger kids and adult children.

Wonderful Home

Beautiful CLEAN home with Lake Superior overlook.

Beautiful home, very clean, kitchen has everything you need! Wonderful linens and towels, comfortable furniture throughout. Awesome deck with Lake Superior overlook has gas fire table for cool nights. Perfect for a family or group of couples. Host family excellent to work with. We would highly recommend!!
