Historic Home on Sullivan’s Island • Across from Beach Path

The house offers a relaxed, classic beach house experience in a 1925 home. Just 9 yards from the footpath to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean, it is easy to enjoy the water throughout the day.

This is a pet friendly home with approval.

The upper level private unit sleeps 8 and includes four bedrooms: one king with en suite bathroom, two with double beds, and one with twin beds. There are two indoor bathrooms total, one en suite and one shared by the other three bedrooms (no bathtub).

The home includes a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and a large screened porch.

A rooftop deck offers a peaceful outdoor space with seating. While it once had ocean views, trees and neighboring homes now largely obscure the view, though it remains a great place to relax and enjoy the breeze.

Additional features include central air and heat, a washer and dryer located in a separate laundry room, 4 beach chairs for guest use, and linens and bath towels (no beach towels).

There are two outdoor showers: one under the stairs for rinsing off after the beach, and one on the rooftop deck for cooling off. These are not full indoor style showers.

Guests have exclusive access to the upper level and rooftop deck. The lower level is occupied year round by a quiet family member with a separate entrance.

Sullivan’s Island is located just across the Intracoastal Waterway from Charleston, with wide sandy beaches, historic Fort Moultrie, a lively restaurant area, public tennis courts, and a classic playground with a gazebo.

Our family had a great 4th of July on Sullivan’s Island. The whole place was very clean for the age of the house and the kitchen was well stocked. The host was very communicative even warning us of a traffic situation affecting Sullivans and IOP. Looking forward to visiting again.

This home was perfect for our family beach vacation — we felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable for everyone. The house had real character, and it reminded us of the old days at Sullivan's Island, except the AC worked great. The rooftop deck and screened in porch were fun spots for family games or reading and morning coffee. We also couldn't have asked for better weather during our stay.The beach itself was beautiful — wide open and never felt crowded. It's a popular spot for kite surfing, and we loved sitting out in the early evenings watching the kiteboarders catch the wind. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a true beach getaway!

This was a great location, with easy access to the beach, and only a short walk or ride to the center of the island. The host was very communicative, especially related to an unexpected internet outage, and she made every effort to rectify that during our stay. The home and rooms were comfortable and had very much the quaint Sullivan's cottage feel, which is just what we wanted. The crow's nest was a fantastic spot to sit at night and look at the stars. The only thing that came as a surprise was that although the listing stated the rental was for the entire home, we didn't realize upon booking that there is a unit downstairs as well. However, since the downstairs resident lives there full time, it was really helpful when we ran into a minor snag at check-in. All in all, a comfortable stay in a great spot, and we really enjoyed our trip!

Great family vacation home

Although the home was rustic...the location was superb. Easy walk to the beach where we walked twice a day. Plenty of room to hangout - loved the screend in porch. Rachel was super helpful with details before we arrived.

Wonderful House on Sullivan's Island!

The property is perfectly located near the beach and only a few blocks from the restaurants and shops on the island. Perfect 4BR 2 bath house with a very warm and cozy feel. The owner is a delight to communicate with and the overall experience was wonderful and enjoyable.

Great location

Old home

Very old home in need of repairs. Found bugs in kitchen and there was no washer/dryer as mentioned in the listing. The location was great- quick walk to the boardwalk and beach. Kitchen was very well stocked.

Wonderful authentic Sullivan's Island beach house

We had a wonderful time at Rachel's house. She is an excellent hostess, and the house was very thoughtfully stocked. Books, coffee filters, a screened porch with seating for all - what more could you want for a reunion of friends! Short walk to the beach. Our family will be back

Exceeded expectations!

The place looks great in the photos, but the historical detail and charm are even better in person. Super comfortable, tons of attention to detail. A loved house with a lot of character, if you go for bland and sterile, look on, this place would be wasted on you, I will definitely be back ❤️

a relaxed, homey vibe

We had terrible weather during our stay so we spent more time in the house than anticipated and it was wonderful: comfortable, relaxed and we felt right at home. We cooked lots of nice meals in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed the roofdeck when it was sunny and screened in porch when it wasn't. The island is fantastic and really easy to navigate, and our dog loved playing on the beach which was a very short walk. We would love to go back!!

Welcome to Paradise

We had a wonderful spring break on Sullivan's Island and Rachel was the kindest, most accommodating host we have ever met. Beautiful roof deck. Well stocked kitchen with every need provided for. Stunning beach steps from your door. Large bedrooms with the most comfortable beds that I have found in a HomeAway stay. Looking forward to our next stay with Rachel on Sullivan's!

Building Memories

My family had a lovely vacation at this property. We had four generations together! My 85 year old Mother simply loved her naps on the front porch with the ocean breeze. I would imagine if the walls could talk, there would be some grand stories of past visits to tell. Sullivans Island at its best! We all hope to come next year.

Perfect Location!

What a perfect location on Sullivan's Island. We had a short walk to the beach and rode bikes all across the island. Rachel was such a gracious host, communicated well, and was extremely flexible with us. The house is quite old but I believe the listing reflects everything accurately. We stayed with our two children (5 and 2) and our nanny and it was plenty of space.

Sullivan’s Island historic house

Classic historic island house (upper part of a duplex) - weathered and charactered on the outside, warm and inviting inside. Well stocked with everything we needed. There were some minor repairs needed but nothing that impacted our enjoyment of the house. We loved the screen porch. Easy access to one of the best dog walking beaches anywhere. Interesting walkable neighborhood. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for our family

We loved our stay! We enjoyed the screened-in porch, which was perfect for our 18 month-old. She loved the quick access to the beach, which we were thankful for as well. Rachel, the host, is so kind and accommodating. It was great to have sheets and towels already there, and we loved the access to beach chairs (and even a wagon). We would love to stay again! We had everything we needed and more. We stayed with my husband’s parents and his brother, along with my husband and my child, and we all enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for all ages!
