Our area has recovered and is welcoming visitors!!! Lenoir, Boone and Blowing Rock are open, as is the Section of the Blue Ridge Parkway in our area (from Blowing Rock to Grandfater Mountain/Beacon Heights).
Get away, unplug, and recharge at this unique stream front home. Nestled in Historic Happy Valley, between Lenoir and Blowing Rock, lies a captivating three-bedroom cottage that provides a warm and welcoming getaway for your upcoming trip. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by locally crafted hardwood furniture and a fully stocked kitchen, complete with a stove, oven, refrigerator, grill, and all the necessary appliances and utensils to prepare delicious meals. Gather around the dining table and enjoy quality time with your loved ones.

Unwind in the living room, where you can curl up by the propane fueled fireplace and enjoy a movie on the smart TV. The cabin also boasts a washing machine and dryer, ensuring you can keep your clothes fresh during your stay.

Relax while listening to the babbling waters and watching for wildlife. Buffalo Creek winds through the over 7.5 acres of property with views of the stream from every window. Take a stroll along the stream front path, cool off in the creek, enjoy a campfire or wet a line all in the back yard. Want to venture outside the yard, vist nearby attractions, such as the breathtaking Blowing Rock, just a 25-minute drive away, take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, explore local breweries and vineyards or visit the breathtaking Linville Gorge including falls and caverns. For a cultural experience, visit the Western North Carolina Sculpture Museum or Fort Defiance, both just minutes away.

Winter blues prescription

My friend and I had a wonderful stay! We had something to do every day: from climbing hills to sitting by the fire pit. The cabin was very spacious, and the hosts were amazing!

Slice of paradise

This was our second time staying at this amazing home. The river is the highlight for sure as we enjoyed swimming, rock skipping, and floating in it's refreshing coolness. Lots of great adventures nearby too. We love it here!

Feels like home

Great Getaway!

Great area close enough to town and far away enough to feel like you're secluded. Definitely a spot I will look to book again in the future. Great layout not only inside but outside the cabin as well. Overall 5 star time

Wonderful Getaway

We loved our stay at the cabin! We were looking for a place that had a creek and it was even better than expected. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved stopping in at the brewery nearby and had pizza and the kids danced to live music. We played and explored the creek for hours.

Wonderful cabin

The cabin was very clean and well equipped. Access to the cabin was good as there was not an SUV required. The hosts responded immediately when contacted. We will definitely stay there again!

Awesome spot

Such a lovely house! The owners have all of the necessities in the home, lovely furnishings and a beautiful property. My boys enjoyed fishing in the stream and exploring along the property.

Beautiful and relaxing

The hosts were very communicative and easy to reach. They did a great job of making sure we knew how to get to the property and answering questions we had about things to do. The stream right outside the house was lovely and lots of fun to splash around in, with lots of gorgeous rocks to look at. The house was very cute and well-appointed - the only thing we missed having was a dishwasher, but it wasn’t a big deal. The first floor was very comfortable and the porch was great. The non-carpeted bedroom on the 2nd floor was not soundproof from the downstairs at all which was inconvenient (we originally had our baby in that room) but the other upstairs bedroom has carpet and did not have that issue, so we just utilized that one for the kids. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated all that the hosts did to make us comfortable!

Above and beyond!

We had a weekend getaway with the family for Mother’s Day at this well-appointed little gem of a cabin and all I can tell you is that everything was above and beyond expectations! The back of this secluded cabin is nestled right up against the creek where we fished for hours sitting on the sandy bank, enjoying the calming sound of the flowing water. The creek is called Buffalo creek and it’s a stocked trout creek but unfortunately we were there right before the restocking so we didn’t catch or even see any fish. Was fun trying, though! The convenience store down the road sells live bait and you can check the internet for the trout stocking schedule. The home itself was super clean and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on, so much so that I am looking into purchasing the same mattress for home. The back deck sits high and overlooks the creek and its banks for anyone who doesn’t want to venture down the gravel driveway and stairs to the banks. As for nearby there is Lenoir and Blowing Rock both just a bit away and Boone just a little further. Debra and Jason were beyond phenomenal as hosts, always answering questions very quickly and even checking in on us during our stay simply to see if we needed anything. Just incredible hospitality! We are already talking about returning, as this is definitely a spot to visit again and again and again! Overall? 10 stars out of 5! :)

We thought we wanted the typical sweeping mountain view property frequently found in the Blue Ridge, but this piece of paradise is so beautiful, tranquil, and unique that we couldn't pass it up. Besides, who wouldn't want to be in "Happy Valley"?

Pictures don't do this property justice. We instantly fell in love with this location when we opened the car door on our first visit. Remote enough to get away from it all yet within a short drive to conveniences and major attractions (closest major grocery store is 16 mins from the front door). Add the sounds and view of Buffalo Creek wrapping around the house, beautiful custom hardwood furnishing, and extremely comfortable mattresses, and you have a little slice of heaven on earth.
