Welcome to Clyde's Beach Bunkhouse!

Giddy up to our fabulous studio apartment, up a flight of stairs, takes you into a whole other world. Enjoy your days on the nearby beach and your evenings in this fun tribute to everything western! Kick back on the leather seating and then rest easy in the comfy queen. Full size appliances and a charcoal grill make mealtime easy, but you’d probably rather mosey (5 minute walk) to the nearby village for fantastic grub. Spacious bath with full size walk-in shower.

Please note, we are located on the same footprint as another building with tenants. The backyard is a shared space with other tenants who rent additional units. There is a fire pit and 4 chairs for a perfect summer evening gathered together.

Bring your cattle dog and enjoy the park at the end of the street - 2 pets max (1 for $150, 2 for $225)

Second Stay

We love this location and setup. However, during our stay, there was a cleanliness issue. Specifically, some bugs showed up on a warm day after a cold snap. We informed the host, and they assured us it was a fluke occurrence. You cannot beat this location.

Great stay in a great location

The property was perfect for myself and pup. Nearby a large open park for walking the pup, nearby dog park, walking distance to the pier and shops/restaurants. Nice quiet neighborhood. The rental was very private and quiet.

Quick trip

Great place. Great for our dogs and bright a little bit of Montana to St. Simons. Best rental agency that I have dealt with after MANY Vrbo stays.

Mother-Daughter vacay

My teenage daughter and I stayed Sat-Tuesday and loved the location. It's a loft apartment above a new three car garage. Must be able to do stairs, but it was great for us. Nice fenced yard and a beautiful wooded park across the street is perfect for pets. Short two blocks to Pier Village and all of the shops and restaurants, a mile to beaches. Our only complaint was the size and location of the TV. It's in the dining area, and should be over in the living area/bed area to make it comfy to watch a movie at night. Decor and entire loft was clean, and felt like home! Would love to stay here again

A delightful, well equipped and charming stay!

We loved this western bunkhouse great room just minutes by foot to downtown, the lighthouse. The details fascinated me (as a hobbyist woodworker), and the western theme was well executed. We love SSI for our midtrip break when we travel to Florida, and this offering will always be a first choice for us in the future. Well done!

Every Little Thing - Great

This efficiency apartment was clean, nicely decorated and in a great location. We loved being able to walk to the village dining and shopping. Also liked that there is a great park a few steps away were we could walk our dog. The only thing that would have been nice is a chest of drawers or similar to unbuckle for long stays. (We were there 11 days). We would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful retreat

We adored our stay at this St. Simon’s above-garage apartment (my husband, dog, and me). it is so spacious and I love arranged it to feel cozy. It is a true studio but much bigger than any studio I’ve ever seen. We walked anytime we went out to dinner or breakfast, and there is a big field where we walk with our dog. We probably could’ve walked to the beach as well but didn’t want to haul our stuff. This place is true to the listing in all ways, so you’ll definitely want to bring your own beach towels, chairs and any disposable kitchen ware (like ziploc bags for packing beach sammies, which we forgot to pack!). I suspect we’ll be back to stay in this cottage apartment in the future.

Hidden gem on a quiet street

My wife and I spent 3 days in this rental as part of a 2nd honeymoon. The property is a loft built above a garage behind a house on a quiet street in a neighborhood covered in beautiful live oak trees. It is within easy walking distance to the St. Simon's lighthouse, Neptune Park, the fishing pier, and Mallery Street with all its shops & restaurants, gas station, package store, etc. The property includes private parking, and a small courtyard with a fire pit and gas grill. The decor is as advertised... Western-style complete with cowhide rugs, and lots of wood paneling and flooring, a selection of Louis L'Amour western novels in the bookcase, and lots of other rustic touches. Actually a nice departure from all the seaside decor pervading the island. The kitchen, bath (with large shower stall), and laundry are completely modern and we made good use of them all. The washer/dryer was an especially welcome touch, as was the gas range. The only feature that may be difficult for older guests or those with disabilities is the stairwell to get up into the property. Several trips to the car and back with luggage can be quite a workout for the legs. We enjoyed our brief time in the Bunkhouse and would definitely consider a longer stay for a future visit.

Awesome spot.

Not only is the rental dog friendly, but the location is too. Its a very short walk to one of the dog parks. A different decor design for the beach but done really well. Short walk to the pier, shops and food.

Absolutely loved this place! Perfect for a couple and their dog! The decor is really nice and the studio is open and spacious! The back yard is perfect for a dog. Would definitely stay here again!!

Everything was so nice. I do recommend that the dollar general quality pillows and sheets be replaced to more match with the upscale of this place. The comforter needs to be replaced also

Home away from home!

This is our 2nd stay here and everything was as before-well done! We have the luxury of walking to the lighthouse, several blocks away, down to the village, and close to everything we wanted….. We had our OES dog with us and she loved the walk in the neighborhood and park nearby.

It was perfect. My first time at Saint Simon and VRBO. It was just me my dog. I felt very safe

Within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shopping. Had a great park for my dog to play in that was just a couple of houses away. The property was exceptionally clean and unique. I will stay there again.
