Newly Remodeled cabin with a view of beautiful Lake Superior. Its a perfect base camp for exploring the Porcupine Mountain State Park. Sleeps 4 people with 1 queen and 1 double bed. air-conditioning, Roku TV, WiFi, full kitchen and bath. There is also a washer/dryer.

Bed Linens, towels, dishes, utensils, and a coffee pot are provided.
Also has a large propane grill and outside seating with fire pit for enjoying a bonfire.

Repeat renter

Stayed here Feb 2018 and now again Jan 2025. Both times the place was neat, clean, well equipped and the hosts were great. To note - different hosts each time but ownership stayed in the family. Excellent location when taking in all that the Porkies has to offer. Will be staying again in the future.

Perfect Cozy Cabin & Gateway to Adventure

This cabin was everything I needed for a few days in the Porkies and surrounding area! It was very clean, adorably decorated, and the hosts had clearly thought of everything! Great location near the entrance to the Porkies and Lake of the Clouds with a peep of Lake Superior across the road.

BESTEST cabin!!

We found this cabin to be ideal and had everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Inordinately clean. Very attractive decor in and out. Great functional space. Best equipped. This cabin has been lovingly cared for. Seeing in person was even better than the very attractive pictures online. Even the communication with the hosts was personable and exceptional. It was so close to Porcupine Mountain State Park and two very good restaurants. The BESTEST is the only word to describe the cabin and our stay there. Thank you!!!

This cabin is exceptionally clean, everything possible is provided for your convenience. Close to the lake and Porcupine Mountains. Great wifi and love the washer/dryer right in the cabin. Can't wait to stay here again!

The best of the best

This cabin is the best of the best. We know when we stay with Brandi and Matt that it will be a five star stay. It’s so clean, inviting, and overall the best VRBO that we have stayed at. We come back every year and will continue to do so. Every amenity you could ask for, they have. From the carefully prepared fire pit, to the sharp knives in the drawers, they think of every detail. The continued cleanliness and property upkeep shows how they care for their customers. We love this place and are so grateful for every detail.

Very comfortable and charming cottage/cabin. Close to great hiking, 12 minute drive from Ontonagon. Owners are easy to work with, eager to help and easily accessible.

Great place in a great location.

The property is centrally located to explore the Porcupine mountains and surrounding area. Everything is as advertised and the property is well maintained and very clean making it a great place to stay.

Wonderful Private Cottage 🙂

This was my family’s 1st trip to Ontonagon and we wanted a place that was close to The Porkies and Lake Superior & this was the perfect location 🙂 The cottage was super clean & the decor was just awesome 🙂 The whole family enjoyed our stay & didn’t want to go back home 🙂

Property is exactly as described cute and cozy! Quiet area but right outside Porcupine Mountain state park absolutely beautiful area! Cabin clean and decorated super cute! Owners very accessible, helpful, and kind. Would love to stay there again!

Cozy and convenient!

The location was perfect for day trips to the Porkies, as well as trips into town. Everything was comfortable and clean, and we loved all the thoughtful touches, enjoyed nights by the fire pit and watching hummingbirds at the feeder :) thank you!

Visiting the Porkies!

Great base camp for exploring the porkies. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our plans to ski and snowboard this year but we enjoyed our stay. We hiked and made some great food, played cards and rested up after Christmas and celebrated New Years Eve in the cozy cabin.

Fall Get away

Great access to Porcupine State Park. Wonderful hiking. Lovely lake shore. Late fall visit with peak leaf color is a must.

Anfitrión: Matt & Brandi

I (Brandi) was born and raised in White Pine so I have had Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains in my backyard my whole life. I have 2 adult children.
Matt was born and raised in lower Michigan (Richmond) and always loved to vacation in the UP. Being the hunter and fisherman he is, he relocated here thru his job (Semco) in 2001
Fast forward a few years...we met in 2012 and the rest is history.

Rainbow Lodging was originally the End of the Rainbow Restaurant. It served ice cream and broasted chicken and was a popular place to see bears. It had been closed for several years before my Aunt Sharon bought the property in 2011. She turned it into a home for my grandparents (her parents) and a few years later when they relocated she decided to rent it out.
Now its her turn to relocate and with wanting to keep it in the family, we (Matt & I) decided to embark on this exciting yet challenging adventure together
