Come see why it's called 'Rancho Relaxo.' Located at mile post 9 1/2 in a quiet, residential area, just a short walk to beach (life guarded), great restaurants (Mama Kwans), shopping. Walk 7 minutes to the beach, or to Nags Head Woods ecological preserve. Two miles from the Wright Brothers memorial, two miles from Jockey's Ridge.

Not your typical rental, more like home, in a residential beach community, very comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable couches you will ever lay down on. 55 inch LCD HD TV, Cable, Stereo, VCR/DVD with tons of movies. Wi-Fi high speed internet access. Each bedroom has flat screen TV with cable. Many board games.

Beach chairs, umbrella ,bicycles, boogie boards for you to use. Best of all, outdoor shower.

Large screened in porch with two Adirondack chairs. Gas grill. Great for seafood, try Austin's seafood.

Covered parking for two cars. Huge driveway. Plenty of room for boat or RV.

Queen bed in master bedroom. Queen in second bedroom. Queen in third bedroom - Linens Included, please bring your own beach towels.

Downstairs laundry/bonus room with bunk beds, flat screen TV/cable/VCR, super gaming system, all arcade and console classics, and pinball machine.
****FYI:Downstairs room is only accessible by exterior stairs.

Great fishing from the shore, off shore charters from Pirates Cove, or Avalon Pier and Nags Head Pier. In Manteo, see the story of the Lost Colony, the Elizabethan Gardens or the North Carolina Aquarium. Cape Hatteras offers the best surfing on the east coast. Close to Sea Scape golf course and Nags Head golf links. Great Kayaking too.

No Smoking.

You must be 25 or older to rent.

Sunday to Sunday summer rental schedule. (believe me, you save hours from sitting in Saturday traffic, ask anyone)

Comfortable and Up-to-Date!

If you are looking for value, look no further. Rancho Relaxo was the perfect fit for our family of 5 (2 adults, kids 3, 7, 16). The beds were super comfortable, AC worked like a charm, kitchen was stocked and the living room had very comfy couches to relax on after a fun-filled day. If you don't mind a short walk or even shorter drive to the beach and are looking for more bang for your buck, stay here!

Excellent OBX Beach House!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Ranch! The home was meticulously clean, everything was neat and organized, and the home is plentifully stocked with everything you'll need for an amazing Outer Banks vacation! Boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach cruiser bikes for the family, a cornhole set, and an antique pinball machine in the bunk/game room - what more could you ask for! And, Mike, the owner, is an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Thanks for helping to make our Outer Banks 2022 family vacation a truly fantastic and memorable experience. We will definitely be back again, Mike! Thanks again!

Perfect house for our needs

Ranchi Relaxo was perfect for our family-6 plus a 1 year old. It was clean, SUPER ORGANIZED, and the bonus room downstairs was perfect for the young adult children. Mike was prompt and very easy to work with when I had questions, even checked on us (unfortunately I didn’t see the email until I got home as I took a break from it), The house was very convenient to all of our destinations-beach-aquarium, restaurants and more. Thank you ,Mike, for all of your help in making this a relaxing vacation!!

Excellent stay

Rancho Relaxo is an excellent place to stay in Kill Devil Hills. The space easily fit our 2 families (4 adults 3 kids). The owner Mike was very responsive to any questions we had before and during the stay. The supplied beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and other supplies were really nice to have. Overall a great experience.

A Real Gem…

Rancho Relaxo has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the OBX. Beautifully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and couches. A Hammock too! Spotlessly clean, great WiFi and Smart TV. But the real gem…the vintage pinball machine. We loved this place!

Great Location

This house is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from the beach. The house itself had everything we needed and was a comfortable place to stay for the family. We will be back!

Loved our first time at OBX

From start to finish and everything between was a great experience for me and my family! We really enjoyed the house and Mike was great to have as a host. Very pleased with our vacation!

Perfect

This was a great vacation home. Mike was extremely accommodating (answering questions before our arrival, last minute request to bring an additional dog...a puppy, and then when we had a car issue at check out time) - throughout the whole process from start to finish, he was respectful, timely responsive, helpful, and reasonable! The house, of course, was wonderful... we LOVED the bed sheets in the master bedroom! House was clean, well stocked, comfy - perfect. Outdoor shower was great too!

Great stay, with an added bonus room

The house was great - very clean and all the basics were provided. There is a great little game room on the ground level; I found myself drawn to that room to play the retro games that are available. The public access to the beach is a 2 minute drive away and this is located in a great spot of the town. There are a ton of local places to visit, some of which are walking distance! The neighborhood is quiet and the people are friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet getaway, without all the hassle of a house on the beach.

Beautiful, happy home!

After having stayed at dozens of outer banks rentals over the years, this place has stolen my heart! Tucked away in a quiet, happy neighborhood, it is centrally located to everything. It is tastefully decorated, has cozy, high quality linens, kitchen ware etc. Words do not do this place justice as it just has a charming character all it's own. Positive energy at its finest. I had a hard time saying goodbye!! Will return again and again!

Awesome Outer Banks Getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! The amenities were great. A well stocked kitchen, pots, dishes, silverware, etc. Comfortable and cozy beds, linens provided was a big plus. Centrally located in Kill Devil Hills, close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Single Fin Sushi was great. They had the best hamburger plate too! Coastal Helicopters in Manteo is a must do! I Got Your Crabs was our favorite place to eat. Steamed blue crabs, oysters and fried softshells! Yummy! Mike is very helpful and prompt, a nice guy to deal with!

Best week ever! Created memories for years to come.

Rancho Relaxo is so comfortable. It's centrally located - close to the beach, Mama Kwans, putt putt golf, etc. Spent the day on the hammock reading a book. Great vacation.

Me, my husband three of my best yoga buddies and 3 dogs all had a great time at Ranch Relaxo! WE sat on the screened in back porch a bunch this year. (this is our second year at Rancho Relaxo.) WE cooked in most every night. The house is equipped for lots of cooking. WE relaxed!!!

Rancho Relaxo Rules!

Rancho Relaxo is a perfect beach house. From the screened in porch, to the outdoor shower (which is pure heaven in the spring, summer and even fall!) and everything in between. Flat screens in every bedroom, an excellent refrigerator/excellent kitchen and the beds are comfy! The WIFi is AMAZING. Its probably the best on the island. (no kidding!) The owner has a nice video game system that taps into all system platforms with hundreds of video games. Its AMAZING and great to keep kiddos ocupado! The house is across from one of the greatest local spots in KDH - Mama Kwan's and a short walk to the beach and other shops. There is alot of great public access along beach road with free parking spots. The owner's neighbor's are very welcoming and super friendly. We're always so pumped getting to Rancho Relaxo and of course, melancholy when leaving, but who isnt when they've just spent a week staying in a beach house that is welcoming, warm and fun!

Multi-generational family getaway at the OBX!

We stayed at Rancho Relaxo for a lovely early September weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday and to get the extended family together for some beach fun. The house was immaculately clean, well provisioned and comfortably slept 5 adults and two kids in the upper house (there is a self-contained bunk room downstairs where the washer and dryer are that would have accommodated extra). We loved the screened porch and hammock, the comfy large sofas, the proximity to the whole stretch and made excellent use of the grill and deck chairs to have BBQ ribs on arrival. The house is just across the main road to multiple public beach access points to Kill Devil Hills beaches and a short drive to Jockey's Ridge State Park and the Wright Brothers memorial. We are adventurous, so we went up to Duck (for lunch and water views) and Corolla (for the Currituck lighthouse and a wider stretch of beach) and down to the Cape Hatteras National Sea Shore to see the Bodie lighthouse (awesome!) and enjoy the windswept beach along that shore. All within easy reach. Had a great sea food lunch overlooking the intra-coastal at Millers Waterfront too. Definitely an awesome pad from which to launch a perfect stay in the Outerbanks.

A great week at the beach

Our group of 4 people and 2 dogs had a great week at Rancho Relaxo. The house is tucked just far enough behind the bypass to be quiet, and yet close enough to be able to walk up to the beach or the beach road. For beach trips with more stuff, it is a very short drive and we found plenty of parking at public beach access points a few blocks south of the house (If you drive straight to the beach, there are 2 hotels, and the beach is more crowded). The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and we found the grill to be suitable for grilling some steaks and corn one night. The beds were comfortable, and the ceiling fans in each bedroom felt great on skin that maybe got a bit too much sun... The beach chairs and umbrella had some wear on them, but that is to be expected of equipment that is used continually, I think. We rode the bikes to dinner one evening, and other than needing some air in the tires, that was fun and the bikes were suitable. Overall, we had a great week and our biggest problem was that it went by too fast.

Peaceful

Very clean and comfortable house. Mike (the owner) was super cool and accessible through the entire process. Neighborhood is quiet and ideal for walks/runs and bike rides. There are lots of great places to eat that are within walking distance. We enjoyed Pigman's barbecue and The Flying Fish particularly. There is a great shaded dirt road near the ecological preserve that is great for walking dogs on hot days. Would definitely return as we had a great and very peaceful time.

Excellent Family and Pet Friendly Place To Stay in the OBX

We stayed at Rancho Relaxo and had an amazing time. The Ranch is extremely comfortable and has everything you could ever need. We brought our family dog and the Ranch was perfect for her as well. We have teenagers and the Ranch was close enough to walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. This was excellent because it allowed for us to have a great family vacation but also allowed the teenagers to go off on their own when needed. The dog and I spent a lot of time on the screened in porch reading or doing cross word puzzles. I would recommend the Ranch to anyone. Great place to stay and Mike is excellent to work with!
