Wonderful location in the heart of the Outer Banks. Located at Milepost 6. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and a great coffee shop! House only rents Saturday-Saturday in the summer. All new appliances installed in 2025.

My family and I use it a lot in the off seasons and the house gets fully booked for summers so it has everything I know you want! The Lazy Susan is located in Kill Devil Hills, NC at Mile Post 6 on the West (Sound) side. 3 blocks from The Front Porch-the best coffee shop in the OBX.

The house has 3 bedrooms-2 queen beds, 2 single beds and 2 full bathrooms with tubs that were all completely redecorated. Ceiling fans and new light fixtures throughout. Smart TVs in the Great Room and in all bedrooms as well. Large deck on the second level. Gas grill. Free Wireless Internet. Great outdoor shower. Perfect house for couples, families or small groups. It is a Beach Box (on stilts) so there are stairs to get to the living area. The house is pet friendly but there is not a fenced in yard, so you will have to walk them. The neighborhood is quiet and very friendly.

There is a 3 night minimum in the off season. 7 night minimum (Saturday to Saturday) Memorial Day-Labor Day.

Susan is a fantastic host and willing to guide you through your vacation to whatever degree you prefer -- which, for our group, was a decent amount. The place itself was perfect for 5 (it can certainly accommodate more) and the location is optimal if you want to be near everything but not in the middle of noise, etc; in fact, it's situated in a nice little neighborhood within walking distance of the Soundside bay (which is great for a daily walk of 1 mile n back) and also an exceptional coffee shop. All the amenities were as described and really we could not have asked for a better set-up for what we were looking for ... and the price was very reasonable as well. One local bar-food-music place I will mention is The Jolly Roger -- above average bar food with big portions at a good price with a lot of locals, too (it's a drive from the place). Just a great experience all 'round, with a great host.

Thank you so much. I really loved having your group. For the public this group was highly inconvenienced by the cleaning team running late. They couldn't fully check in until 6 and they were super pleasant. I am so glad they enjoyed their stay!

The Lazy Susan was great for an affordable stay in OBX. The grounds and home were well equipped, and it was an easy walk or drive to either the sound or snacks, beer/wine, and coffee on 158. Food Lion is only a mile away, and there are plenty of places to park after a short drive to the beach. Make a right off of Palmetto during peak traffic times and then make your left onto a side street and then 12 if you want to go north. Appreciated a comfortable stay and great wifi for a family of 5. The outside shower with actual hot water is a nice touch too, alongside a spacious hammock. The artwork on the ceiling of the overhang as well as the inside walls made it feel fun and unique. Thanks Susan!

This house was amazing!! Susan was a fantastic host. Everything was clean and ready for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large. A great place for a nice long NCAA tournament weekend. We would love to return!!

We LOVED The Lazy Susan!! This home was immaculately clean. Honestly, the pictures don’t do the home justice. It’s bright, open, and airy and oh so comfortable. The master bed was also very comfy. The neighborhood was quiet and the walk to the sound was so nice in the evenings. So many wonderful things about this home, but we especially loved the attention to detail. We found everything we could need and them some. I highly recommend!! PS…the couch in the living room was amazing! It was my favorite place to lounge throughout our stay!

Such an amazing stay!

Had such a wonderful time at Susan’s place! The cottage was clean and chic, right by the water and a quick drive across the street to the beach! Will definitely stay here again

This picture above is of me on the front porch of the house. I originally grew up in NJ, came to DC for college in 1985 and lived in the DC area until 2022 when I moved to Florida. I got married 4/18/15. Which means Bill and I combined 2 houses and The Lazy Susan 'inherited' a lot of extra furniture and kitchen stuff. We had a new addition to the family in 6/16 when my step-daughter got a puppy! Peaches says the house is very dog friendly! Then in June 2020 we fostered a dog because we were working from home and adopted her-Luisa loves it here!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

I have been vacationing in the OBX since 1994. Every year I came down more. I finally bought this house in 2011 that I am renting out part of the summer and using it for my family. I love the neighborhood. Its quiet with lots of running and biking trails. I can walk or drive to the beach and the whole world is within 2 miles!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Prior to me the house was owned by an artist (painter). There are many custom touches including a large mural of a tropical fish. The bedrooms are custom painted as is the ceiling of the car port.

I recommend everybody takes long walks along Bay Drive and watch the sunsets from the piers.
