Gorgeous property with lovely views!! Well equipped and beautifully furnished with all the comforts of home!! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay! So happy I booked this for our family to attend my daughters’ graduation events. The surrounding area and amenities were an added bonus. I highly recommend this lovely home!!

We had a great stay! Perfect for two families!! Beds were comfortable, house was clean, and host was very responsive. If you are planning to cook, you will want to make sure you bring anything you need - the only basics at the house were salt and pepper and a couple of other spices.

Just to clarify these comments, we have a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, cooking utensils, blender, mixer, toaster, plates, coffee maker and cups, etc. We just do not provide food items for sanitary and liability issues.

This house was more than amazing!! The view, the decor was so perfect & comfortable & it was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Also a short drive to town. You can definitely tell the owners have put a lot of time & attention into making Summit View a perfect place to relax & enjoy!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family!

The house is beautiful with a panoramic view. Wish we could have stayed longer. We loved the fire pit and all the wild deer. The porches were awesome and the hot tub was great after all long day. Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven.

Extremely disappointed. We were shocked when we drove up and saw two houses under construction directly in front of the property with a staging area immediately below the deck. We had been looking forward to drinking coffee on the deck, relaxing in the hot tub, and simply being outside to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. Unfortunately, we could not because workers were there from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., except Sunday. Continuous noise of hammering, nail guns, sawing, compressors being fired up, boards banging, loud music playing, and workers yelling back and forth. Even with windows and doors closed, we could hear the noise and see the workers from inside the house, No privacy. Based on the Vrbo listing we agreed to pay a premium price of 3,200 for four nights. Had we known about the active construction, we would never have booked or agreed to pay such a high rate. We immediately contacted the owner. He admitted HE KNEW about the ongoing construction but refused to provide any refund. His excuse was that he could not control his neighbors. We obviously know that an owner can't control what neighboring property owners do, and we don't blame the construction workers for doing their jobs. BUT a Vrbo owner does have control over information he provides to guests before taking their money. Active construction next to a home marketed for a peaceful settings, views, privacy, and seclusion should be disclosed before guests decide whether to book.

Interesting feedback from this guest. She loved our home so much that this was her second time visiting. Also, interesting that the reviews before and after her stay were all 10/10 (5 Star) reviews. As I told this guest, there is no rhyme or reason on when the workers will be there. They sometimes don't show up for months at a time. Also, the two homes do not block the beautiful views of Grandfather and Sugar Mountains. We provide a beautiful home with great views. Unfortunately, I can't control what goes on with properties I don't own.

This was an amazing get away trip for our family. This house exceeded way beyond our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice on the website. Everything was comfortable and cozy. The views are breathtaking and so amazing to wake up to. Watching the deer every morning and evening are remarkable. We had ages ranging from 19 to 92 so this house definitely accommodates all ages.

Birthday trip

The cabin was very clean and equipped with everything needed. The rooms were able to accommodate everyone on the trip. The Mountains view were beautiful. Thanks John for making our first trip to Carolina a great one.

Beautiful property! Lack of bare essentials eg. Shampoo, lotion, kleenex and no clock in bedrooms. Plenty of room for 6 adults to have privacy and alone time. Enjoyed the ping pong table.

Great Cabin with amazing views

Love the location and views from this cabin. Short drive to the city but far enough away to feel secluded and surrounded by nature. Loved watching the deer grazing all around the cabin. The house was very clean, spacious, and well appointed. We would definitely return again!

House is excellent. Well decorated. Fry pans were difficult we are used to nonstick. New home construction close by. Did not use hot tub this visit but it looked fine. Very clean. Great view. Some road noise from Beech Mountain Parkway.

Excellent stay!

My party of 10 from medical school had a wonderful time on our school ski trip. We enjoyed cooking some great meals in the well stocked kitchen, fantastic views and a clean hot tub. The care instruction for the hot tub were simple and kept the water crystal clear all weekend long. Thanks John and family for sharing your beautiful home with us!!

Great experience

Perfectly located property. Wildlife is amazing. The house was perfect with multiple rooms with king beds to accommodate adult couples. Everything was as advertised. Only hiccup was quite a bit of dirty utencils and cookware, but that is partly to blame on past guests. Would definitely recommend.

Great home for ski-trip with the family

Such a great trip! We and two other families stayed here during a recent ski-trip to Beech Mountain. The home was a super short drive from to/from the mountain. It fit all of us and our kids comfortably, and they loved having their own space downstairs. And speaking of comfort, everyone commented on how comfortable their beds were. The fireplace and hot-tub both worked great. And the views truly were spectacular!

Wonderful stay

The home is lovely and offers everything a family could need. Soooo many things to do and see!! We had 6 adults and 3 children. House was perfect. The area/view is stunning. Our only suggestion!…..round plates The rectangular do not go in microwave. We would highly recommend to anyone! Loved the quiet and the gorgeous sunrises. Thank you so much!!!!

We loved having Steve and his family stay with us and hope they will come back again soon. I just wanted to make a clarification, the rectangular plates actually easily fit in the microwave but you need to hit the Turntable On/Off button so it does not try to spin them around.

Fabulous views, chilly snooze

The home was clean and well appointed. The views were magnificent. One disappointment is that the home is three levels with only one zone for the HVAC system for the whole house. Hot air rises, so the family members who slept in the queen bed and bunkbeds on the bottom floor were cold given there is no thermostat on that level. (One other item - a quick fix - there is a nail protruding on the center of the step just above the landing on the ground level).
