Location, location, location! Fully renovated duplex located in downtown Black Mountain (which was recently voted by Trip Advisor as one of the “Prettiest Small Towns in America to Vacation.”). Park your car and take a hike or ride your bike. This top unit is within walking distance to everything local in Black Mountain. Such as; restaurants, breweries, shops, craft stores, picnic areas, walking paths, greenways and town festivities. There is also a nearby golf course, park and lake. You will be in downtown Black Mountain. Walking distance to downtown, near I-40; Montreat College; Camp Merri-Mac; Katazuma; Warren Wilson College; 20 minute drive to Asheville; 30 min drive to Catawba Falls.
This top unit is spacious with an open floor plan, a washer /dryer for your private use and a private balcony with rocking chairs. Just relax in the evenings and breathe in the mountain air.

We really liked this place. Very close and easily walkable to everything in downtown Black Mountain. A big plus. The place was nicely updated and well cared for. The kitchen was nicely appointed with all the things that we needed. Bathroom and laundry was spacious and well laid out. We especially liked the balcony to sit and view the neighborhood. Parking was easy and plenty of room. We would rent this place again.

This is a very cute and clean place! We enjoyed our stay, although it was a rainy weekend, so we did not explore the town much as we came for music, but what we did see of the town was great! The location is ideal for walking in town.The only downside to this place is the matress we slept on was a bit on the soft side, and the coffee make is so small you have to make multiple pots for more than 1 person. Other than that this place is great, better than a hotel since you have a full kitchen, nice balcony to hang out and I guess a fire pit that we did not use. I'm not sure if this place has mountain views as it was too rainy to see much.

Nice property! The kitchen is amazing, so if you’re staying longer term, this is great! 4 burner gas stovetop, microwave, and big air fryer! Bedrooms are smallish, but perfectly adequate with queen beds. Living room area comfortable with couch and loveseat. Overhead recessed lighting, but I would recommend lamp as well for more subtle options. The overhead lights are kind of glaring and bright. Bathroom is great, very strong water pressure in the shower! Love it! The porch is so great to sit and chill, our dog’s favorite spot. Host is responsive and great!

Excellent location, comfortable unit

We were able to book both units in this duplex for a family holiday gathering. Certainly, we could not have found anything better located in Black Mountain. As the property description indicates, we were just five minutes from the center of this lovely small town and five minutes from Lake Tomahawk Park. All of us, including our dogs, enjoyed our stay in Take-a-Hike.

Immaculate Getaway Cottage in Ideal Spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night visit to Black Mountain, and couldn’t have been happier with this cottage! Everything we needed was there — and it’s SO clean😀! After daily hikes and touring the town, we relaxed each evening with a glass of wine on the front porch. Super dog friendly house with tons of great walks. The neighborhood is quiet despite being right next to the downtown shops & restaurants. Loved every minute!

My family and I had a great time at this place. It was clean, plenty of parking, nice porches to enjoy and man talk about location. This location is close to downtown Black Mountian. You can park you car and walk/ride a bike to everything!!!

Perfect location!

Do not look at Google maps for this place. It’s way outdated. This place is gorgeous inside and out and would definitely come here again. Not only is it the perfect spot, but it absolutely quiet at night. I wish I could have had time to use the fire pit behind the house. I loved the balcony and the beds were super comfortable. It was amazing.

Perfect Location in Black Mountain

We really loved this place for our family of 4 (2 kids under 12). Locations was perfect - close to stores, restaurants, a "Little Library" on the corner, near Ashville, and one exit away from our kid's overnight camp. The beds were super comfy and they did a great job with the renovation.

We rented both properties for a quick trip to see a show in Asheville. The properties are clean, comfortable, in a great location and very charming. We will be back!!

Wonderful, quick little getaway for us

We really enjoyed our time here. The place was super clean and all that we needed. Walking distance to downtown and plenty of parking. Clarify if you’re the upper unit or lower unit before arriving. Would definitely come back again.

Great balcony

Cozy space but fine for our needs. Loved the upstairs porch. Could use additional nightstand and a lamp in bedroom but otherwise great stay.

Mountain getaway

Great little apartment in downtown Black Mountain and short drive to Asheville. We were in town for a big bike race and we’re very happy and comfortable with this home. Kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfortable and the deck was relaxing. Highly recommend for those seeking adventure. Great hiking, biking, coffee and dining in the area. Hope to return soon!

Amazing place!

I stayed here for 6 weeks and loved every day! The location can't be beat, you can walk everywhere. The porch is peaceful, beds are comfortable, all appliances are new. Property manager was friendly and very responsive. Can't recommend this place enough!

Location, Location, Location

This property has a great location, wether you are wanting to leave your car parked and walk to the many local sites and attractions near by or use it as a centrally located base to do day and half day excursions. The owners are extra friendly and accommodating. We had a last minute change in travel plans and needed to add an extra night. No problem. I would definitely recommend them. Also since there are two units, It would be great for couples or groups traveling together.

My husband is a native of Black Mountain, I moved here 7 years ago. From the time I first came to Black Mountain I fell in love with it. I love the community, restaurants and the outdoors. Our community is beautiful, always perfectly landscaped and town square is decorated to match the season. Everyone is hospitable and most of the businesses are pet friendly. The weather is mild enough yet we still experience all the seasons. It is the perfect place to vacation and just relax.

It is walking distance to downtown Black Mountain, 20 mins East of Asheville, and about 30 minutes from Asheville Regional Airport. Once you arrive here you can park your car and walk everywhere.
