Canal House is a Cape Cod style home, fully remodeled, located on the bay of Sturgeon Bay. The house is nestled among a picturesque street of unique, well maintained vintage homes. Stunning views abound from our house on the water where you can see all types of boats passing by. Most rooms have windows overlooking the water. Relax in the comfortable living room and library. A large front porch welcomes you and your favorite beverage. A fishing dock extends over the water for whiling the day away and reeling in your bass. In addition, the incredible location will let you reach the downtown shops and restaurants within a half mile walk. Come stay in our beautiful, well appointed home and let us show you the best of Door County living!

We use a robust cleaning and sanitation regimen between guest stays. These procedures follow guidelines from the CDC, local health agencies and VRBO.

Pictures don’t do it justice

The home was beautiful and rooms were spacious. Bathrooms were immaculate. Location on the water was rejuvenating. Convenient to restaurants and shops. The host checked in on us, and was very responsive to questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful House

We stayed in this beautiful house for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for our group. It is decorated beautifully and the owners are so kind and thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We had everything we needed. The front porch was my favorite spot!

Family vacay

The pictures don't do it justice. We throughly enjoyed the house, and location. The walk to downtown is short, in a beautiful residential area along the bay. The kitchen is very well stocked. The mattresses are firm, but comfortable. The owners checked in with us a couple of times to see if we needed anything. We would definitely book again.

Friend get away

The house is in a great location, and a nice safe neighborhood. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shops. The deck and the front porch are nice places to just sit and relax. The upstairs does have slanted ceilings, so taller people will have to watch their heads! We would stay here again.

Loved the porch!

Great location right on the canal! We spent most of our time on the porch when we were at the house. It was so relaxing even during all the weather changes that week! My daughter and I took advantage of the neighborhoods to run in and the kids were able to use their paddle board and kayak in the canal area. We were in driving distance of all the other Door County towns so this location was a great non-hectic area. David was very quick to respond to any questions before and during our visit. Thank you!! Loved this house!

Door county on the Bay

It’s hard to tell you what a beautiful, comfortable, well appointed property this was for us. The owners were very helpful in getting us oriented to the area, and we had a too short wonderful time. The Spurgeon Bay shopping, restaurant, breweries were within walking distance; and Door county has many many attractive communities, parks, overlooks to keep you busy (and well fed). We thoroughly enjoyed our time there feeling like I was on a river cruise as I read in the front room looking out at the bay.

Perfect Waterfront Retreat

This is the third year in a row that we have stayed at the Canal House, and once again it was the perfect setting for our Door County vacation. The house is spacious, bright, and comfortable, with several areas to relax and enjoy the excellent view of the bay right across the street. The plantings that surround the house are bright, colorful, and meticulously maintained. The kitchen and dining area are beautiful and provide ample room to gather and enjoy time with family. It's easy walking distance to downtown and a great launching pad for day trips to the rest of the Door peninsula. Dave and Shaun are wonderful friendly hosts and attentive to every need. It's hard to imagine a nicer place to spend our vacations here.

Great early Fall stay

Quite a wonderful property. Everything was as presented. The view from the front porch and the boat activity on the channel are great. We - 5 seniors - had everything we needed and spent a lot of time just relaxing at the house. Proximity to SB - walkable - is a plus, but the home is very quiet and there is no feeling whatsoever that you are as close as the house is. Highly recommend this property.

Great Spot on the Water and Close to Downtown Sturgeon Bay

This was a great home for our family of four adults. The two main living spaces were great for visiting and one easily accommodated morning exercise routines. The kitchen is very well equipped with dining space to fit eight comfortably and two more at the counter. The yard is lovely - a great spot for games and high-energy young ones -- and the view out the front to the Sturgeon Bay ship canal gave us a constant stream of wildlife and boats. So serene and awesome. It was a quick walk to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and to the many downtown restaurants and shops.

Feels Like home at the Canal House

Immaculate home. A perfect layout for families. Many hours spent on the comfortable front porch reading, drinking coffee and watching the boats. Owners were attentive and prompt with any questions we had. A short walk into town with quaint shops and dining. Bed linens and towels were top-notch. A wonderful stay and we would definitely stay there again.

Perfect.

The house, the location, the host...all perfect. Sturgeon Bay is still a part of Door County but slightly less hectic than the cities further up the peninsula so this house is quiet and peaceful- and we couldn't get enough the beautiful front porch and that view of the canal. You can walk into town for events or meals. The hosts have great suggestions for places to eat or hike and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this lovely home!

Relaxing stay in Door County

This was our second year staying at this property and we enjoyed it just as much as last year! Truly a beautiful home which is kept immaculately clean and had everything we needed during our stay. It is a close walk to town and we love relaxing on the porch with its view of water. Shaun and Dave are great hosts and we look forward to staying again!!

Another wonderful stay at the Canal House

Last year we stayed at the Canal house in early August and found it to be such a perfect place for us to relax and enjoy Door County with our family that we booked it again this summer. It surely didn't disappoint! To start with, we were blessed with perfect weather for almost the entire week. The location on the bay shore is beautiful and in walking distance to downtown Sturgeon Bay, and there are activities available almost every day. The front porch is a perfect place to take in the beauty of the waterfront. The large open kitchen and dining area easily accommodate lots of people for playing games and having meals. The adjacent patio deck is a good place to enjoy the numerous birds and beautiful plantings in the back yard. The bedrooms are clean, well decorated, and the beds are very comfortable. Dave and Shaun are excellent hosts and are quick to respond to any requests. We will return again!

Perfect...in every way

The location, directly across from the canal in Sturgeon Bay, was both beautiful and conveniently located as a base to tour the rest of Door County. The home and property are impeccably maintained and extremely well appointed. The furnishings are beautiful to behold as well as comfortable and inviting. The booking and check-in/out process was seamless as well. Each person in our group of 5 gave this the highest rating possible... and we extend to you our wish that you try it out for yourself.

Excellent!

Second time here- great location for our needs. Canal House is so clean, excellent amenities (thick towels, quality bathroom products, etc) and the kitchen has all of the appliances you need. Sometimes you get a VRBO where you are clearly sharing someone's home- not here- fridge and freezer, pantry space, closet space are all empty for your things. Really nice dedicated work space as well. Front porch is where we relaxed in the am and pm. Very friendly community. Scroll down a year or so for a more extensive review from us but the fact that we booked it again is proof it's a great one.

Nice Cape Cod home with Great Views

My husband and I enjoyed this nice Cape Cod style home on the water. We spent many hours enjoying the views from the chairs on the covered porch and the red chairs in the “viewing room.” The large kitchen is modern and well-equipped. We enjoyed walking to the healthy grocery store down the street, to various shops and to the history museum. The kind owners recognized and helped us celebrate our special occasion. — We will return! Thank you!

This home is so clean you could eat off the floors!

We stayed in the lovely home for our nephew's wedding and it couldn't have been nicer. The pictures really show off the home, but in person it is even more spectacular. The front porch offers the most relaxing view and we used it every morning and evening. Lots of room if you have a family and lots of nice provisions. We hated to leave and would definitely rent this home again. The owners are amazing too and answered our questions and requests very quickly.

Wonderful home exuding hospitality

I loved the appearance of the house online. It is even more charming in real life. It is an extremely clean and comfortable home. Lots of nice, thoughtful touches and beautiful nautical decorating. The house could easily accommodate 6 people, but the two of us enjoyed the size just for us. The front porch is where my husband spent his time when we were at home. Neighbors walking by are all very friendly. The living room and library are comfy and inviting. As another reviewer mentioned, I also wished we had a longer stay! The location is great, convenient, and very safe. I think we could have just brought clothes, and would not have needed a thing. I loved the kitchen layout, (very well stocked) although we really did not cook much as there are so many wonderful eateries in Sturgeon Bay and Door County. Definitely 5 star!
