Riverside Nest is a true couple's Retreat. A secluded mountain cabin perched above the Ellijay River with 101 steps down from the cabin to the beach area, hammock deck. Topside on the cabin's huge deck is a covered gazebo with a gas firepit and a hot tub with a cover lift. There is a fenced area for your pup with access to both the front deck and hot tub deck. The cabin offers a large cathedral ceiling king bedroom with a 32 inch TV. The living area has vaulted ceilings and is perfect for cuddling in front of the gas log fireplace or watching your favorite movie on the 55 inch smart TV with YouTube TV's 85 channel service (Includes sports and local) & Netflix & DVD player. There is also a bluetooth speaker for listening to your favorite songs. The Kitchen offers: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and espresso machine, with a wall of windows overlooking the Ellijay River and beautiful wooded views while dining. Riverside Nest is a perfect place to getaway with the one you love.

Access: Access to this cabin is via gravel, mountain roads. 4 wheel drive is not required, confidence in mountain driving is recommended.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. Quiet place to relax and recharge with everything you need.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a wonderful experience for us. We are always looking for a place that has everything you need in one spot. This cabin checks all the boxes. It looks like everything was thought of. We brought our three dogs, two medium size & one small. This was one of the most dog friendly places I have experienced. Make sure you read all of the instructions they send you prior to your trip. We planned for everything but so did Sliding Rock Cabins. This company was excellent! During our trip they stayed in communication with us and were available to answer any questions we had via text message. I would highly recommend this company if you want a great cabin experience and you enjoy the mountains. I couldn’t think of anything that would have made this trip better.

Best getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great place for our 50th birthday getaway. The cabin is well equipped and the people at Sliding Rock Rentals were very attentive and offered suggestions for celebrating the 4th of July while we were there. The location could be tricky to get to in rain or ice/ snow without a 4 wheel drive, but that’s part of the charm. The river was wonderful for relaxing next to with our pups and the fenced in yard was a big convenience. Planning on coming back soon!

Unplug and Relax

A absolute pleasure, relaxing, calm and delightful time. The cabin was as advertised. If you would like to unwind and unplug this is your place. Absolutely would stay here again. Didn’t want to come home!!! Kim, Wayne and our fur baby GiGi!!!!

Perfect Valentine Getaway for Couples

We enjoyed everything about our stay. It was a great last minute getaway and the cabin was exceptional. The extra attention to details in every space made the stay even better. The cabin has so many cozy spaces. We especially loved the decor, the cozy blankets, fireplace, Bluetooth speakers, kitchen and chairs overlooking the river below, the bedroom space, the extra doggie treats and bed, and even the emerald green cabinet pulls. We especially enjoyed the covered bridge being lit up on our way in and out each day too. A very quiet place to retreat and enjoy nature. Highly recommended.

We felt very comfortable! We enjoyed hearing the Ellijay River and seeing the wildlife! We saw deer daily. We did the 101 stair challenge! We loved the location. The owners have decorated the cabin so beautifully and whimsically! The bed was very comfortable! The linens, towels & robes were all very soft and generous ! The cabin was just the right size! We enjoyed fresh ground coffee every morning and Lu-Lu loved her treats that were there just for her! I enjoyed the coloring book & pencils! We sat out by the fire nightly with the lights. It felt like we were in a tree house! We had an amazing time and look forward to next year! Thanks for having us!!

Secluded cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is nestled amongst beautiful landscape. The proximity to the river is enchanting. The space is perfect for two people. It’s private, quiet and a great place to retreat. The drive is fine up to the entrance of the property about .5 miles you’ll need a 4x4 and be experienced driver. We had a truck 4x2 which the wheels spun a few times. Aside from the ingress & egress it was pleasant.

Lovely Stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at cozy Riverside Nest! We spent our evenings on the back porch taking in the beautiful view/sounds over the water, enjoying the fire pit, and watching the many birds in the trees surrounding the cabin. Highly recommend! The only note I’d make to future renters traveling with dogs is that the “fenced yard” is a gravel path around the back of the house. There is no fenced grass and no enclosed space for medium/large pups to run/play off leash. We totally appreciated their very welcoming dog policy and extra special touches (treats, waste bags, bowls, bed, etc) - just elaborating on the fenced yard mentioned in the listing so that others traveling with dogs can prepare accordingly. Our dogs did enjoy taking a leashed walk down the stairs to the water! Thanks for a great stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was as-described... no disappointments. Weather could've been more cooperative, but a very nice getaway nonetheless. Access to the cabin could be a challenge if not driving an SUV or truck, but would still recommend this cabin. The only thing I could see lacking is a microwave oven, which would have been nice for re-heating leftovers. A small quibble, but something to note when grocery shopping.

Great dog friendly cabin

Reviewer Comments: This cabin is beautiful - we loved all the windows and skylights, the stylish yet comfortable furniture (including the bed), and favorite for all of us was the outdoor fencing that allowed our dog to be off leash around the cabin. We really enjoyed the time on the porch with the lovely gazebo / fire pit. It was a little more difficult to reach in terms of the last roads which were narrow, winding and rock/dirt, but very private. We didn’t get in the river, but took the steps down to it, and enjoyed the sound of the water from the cabin our entire stay. Appreciated TV with access to streaming services for movies. Kitchen adequately stocked that we made all meals except one in the cabin. The microwave is hidden in a bookshelf! It was dirty (maybe housekeeping didn’t realize it’s location) but that was the only negative of our three night rental. We would definitely return to this cabin in the future.

Loved the fire pit and view of the river. The steps to the river are great and what a workout coming back up. Two of mine demanded to be carried, lol! You can't go wrong with this cozy cabin...we will be back!

Riverside Nest Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The only things I would have liked different was the driving directions and lack of toiletries. We stayed for 6 days and there were only 2 rolls of toilet paper. After spending as much money as we did I did not think I would have to purchase toilet paper. The directions had irrelevant information and misleading direction. We arrived just past dark and since there are no street lights, trying to see landmarks was out of the question. The directions referred to a residence as a landmark but there was no signage that indicated who lived at what residence? We spent probably 30-45min going back and forth looking for our cabin with two dogs in the car after a 9hr drive. Needless to say we were a bit frustrated upon our arrival, and this was our honeymoon.

Great Experience

Beautiful cabin, very dangerous roads, not a great yard for dogs

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin itself is beautiful, well-furnished, lots of little details thought out like games, movies,and books. The amenities are nice and the kitchen is well-stocked. I wish we had been warned in advance just how dangerously steep and narrow the mountain road to the cabin is as we would have driven a different vehicle. We are coming from Florida and not used to these roads, and there was a very steep drop-off. The cabin is basically built into the side of a mountain. The stairs to the riverfront are also terrifying. We didn't feel comfortable leaving the cabin to go do anything once we got there and risk damage to our small SUV. It is a very picturesque and beautiful area and I love the picture windows and the gas fireplace. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the area but the fenced in yard is not really great. The fence posts are too wide in some areas so we couldn't even safely let them off leash without risking them running off and falling into a ravine. I also did not like being asked to do so many housekeeping items (stripping the bed, washing and putting away all the dishes, starting the laundry, etc.) when I am paying over $200 a night to stay somewhere. The checkout instructions really added to the stress of us packing and leaving. It is a beautiful area and a beautiful cabin. We should have chosen one with a better yard for letting our three dogs out off leash, but I don't think we will be going back.
