The house has new floors, new drywall, new deck, new kitchen, new windows, new bathroom vanities in every bathroom, new siding, new outdoor shower, new air unit, new roof, and new paint to be specific on being totally renovated. The photos show an accurate depiction of exactly how the house looks in every room. While the downstairs does not have as much natural light as the upstairs due to it being a downstairs space, it is a full bedroom with full bathroom and is attached to a laundry room which contains bunk beds. The laundry room is separated from the Queen bed bedroom and bathroom by a wall. Again, the photos are an accurate portrayal of the layout of the house.

I’m shocked by your review because none of this was ever reported during your stay. Had I known of any of the cleaning issues listed, I would have promptly sent our cleaning crew back over to fix any concerns. I spoke with our cleaning crew and she stated that the majority of the washcloths and towels put out were the ones I just bought prior to summer with the washcloths being brand new and never used before. I understand the gnats can be bad at times which is just a hazard of an ocean front property. That said, I have alerted the cleaning crew to double check the ledges near windows and doors where they can get in easier. I’ve never had any renter complain of a smoking smell and to my knowledge no renters have ever smoked in the property. It is a pet free property as well. The cleaning crew stated they had not seen any evidence of a dog after the previous renters left. As for the rugs, they are in place to wipe the sand off of your feet before getting into bed. We have taken them out of rotation for the time being and I am in the process of purchasing new ones, however, they are very small rugs. The house flooring is a combination of laminate vinyl plank and hardwoods which are swept and mopped before each new set of renters comes in. I would encourage anyone reading this review to please look at all of the previous reviews before making judgments of this property. I have many references that I’m happy to share from repeat renters who use this property year after year. I take feedback very seriously, and while I am addressing all of these concerns with the cleaning crew, I would encourage you, in the future, to communicate any issues to your host as soon as they arise so that they may be addressed and taken care of.

I’m glad you all enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry you felt misled by the description of the layout, as it clearly states in the summary that the downstairs has a separate entrance which is great if a separate family were staying and wanted privacy. The photos clearly show the separate entrance as well. The house has never sustained any water damage whatsoever, even in the storm last August that had a 7 ft. surge. It was also thoroughly inspected when we bought it last August and confirmed that it has never sustained water damage. The downstairs has a mini split with a built in dehumidifier. If it is left on the entire stay, which is requested in the information book, then the downstairs is very fresh and not mildewy at all. I’ve never had a guest complain of this. The roof is old and I’m very sorry it dripped on you. The roof will be replaced on August 30th and has been sealed to be watertight until then. The bathrooms are older, but they are very clearly portrayed in the detailed photos of the house. All of the appliances, beds, mattresses, bed linens, and bathroom linens are brand new and only purchased at the beginning of this prime season. Our price, according to VRBO is competitive with other ocean front homes of the same size and capacity. Also, I do apologize that during your 2 week long stay, a plumber, roofer, and regularly monthly scheduled pest control came. Normally those things would take place on Saturday turnover day, but since you all were there for 2 weeks, I wanted to make sure all of your concerns were taken care of promptly to make your stay nice.
