ROCK HOUSE is located on the beach side with a super quick one-minute walk over the dunes bridge right to the beach. Sleeps 8, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Plush queen beds in both the master and the 2nd bedroom and 2 comfy, adorable twin beds in 3rd room. Beautifully decorated, high end finishes, full kitchen with all new appliances. Keurig and standard coffee pot. Smart tv's in living room and all bedrooms. Connect to Netflix or any other app to watch your favorite shows and movies. Free WIFI. Free access to full size washer and dryer. High quality towels and linens. The perfect spot for coffee is on the front deck with views of the crashing ocean waves. Outdoor shower. Also, included is an outdoor BBQ pit! Fenced in yard, perfect for the kids. Come stay and play!

To do ~ Rent a golf cart and enjoy the golf cart path right from the house. You can ride it to the beach, crabbing pier, restaurants, bars, and food trucks. Less than 2 miles to the nearest boat launch. Other things to do in Surfside, are to visit the splash pad, Jetty Park, take a dolphin tour, deep sea fishing, surfing lesson, paddle boarding, massages, golfing, diving and more. ROCK HOUSE is close to everything Surfside has to offer! As well as a 30-minute coastline drive to Galveston for other fun activities. Lake Jackson is 15 minutes away and has everything, HEB, Walmart, Target, the mall, Chick Fil A and more.

Favorite places to eat ~ Beachfront Deck Bar and Grill and Seahorse Bar and Grill, literally on the beach. Amazing views! Surfin Ritas Daiquiri's to go. Red snapper Inn for a more high-end seafood dish. Longtime local, Kitty's Purple Cow for burgers or an amazing breakfast.

Family trip

Very cute. Loved the porch seating. House was plenty roomy. Close to everything. The water smells bad but we just used bottled water. The house has everything you need for meals/cooking. We loved it there. Would highly recommend this place.

A great place

We loved our stay here. Plenty of towels and space and the beds were pretty comfortable. The a/c worked great and there are fans in the rooms too which we loved. It was an easy walk to the beach and the deck was lovely. A couple of notes: we are used to making food vs going out, and there weren’t a lot of dishes / utensils for that, but we got by. The dishes in the cabinet weren’t clean but I think that was more that they were loaded into the dishwasher pretty dirty and it didn’t catch everything, so we had to hand wash everything before we used them. These are all really minor things that wouldn’t stop us from booking again, but just for anyone using it in the future. We love Surfside and can’t wait to come back.

Home away from home

This is our 3rd stay at this house. We always look forward to our stay. We really enjoy the house and proximity to the beach. It definitely feels like our home away from home at this point.

The Rock House

The house itself was great, very nice furnishings and clean. The yard was great for the fur babies and the deck was good. However there was no laundry soap, no dishwasher soap, no water in fridge, no drinks, no coffee pods as this was all in the information that was sent me. Had issues connecting to internet and trouble getting the code correct. Will I book this property again, no I will not stay here again.

Surfside beach trip

Great location and great accommodations. The covered deck is awesome and location near beach is prefect. Close enough to walk. Very clean and with a great yard for the dogs. Overall A+ experience.

peaceful place

Very clean plenty of room for everyone very muchly appreciated all the TVs. Everyone was able to enjoy their favorite TV shows all the beds was very comfortable we enjoyed all the furniture and decorations throughout the house would definitely come back and stay here again and recommend it to my friends

Quick getaway

Great location with view of the Gulf. Home was well appointed with everything that you would need. Property Manager was easy to reach and responded very timely. We will definitely come back.

Annual Family Vacation

A very nice, clean house in a good neighborhood. The beach decor brings a great touch to the house. The beds are so comfy, plenty of towels, kitchen has everything you need. The beach is close by. Buccee right up the road, many restaurants and convenient stores very close. We would stay again.

Great location

Less than 1 block from the beach. Walking distance to restaurants. Liquor store right around the corner. Unit is furnished with everything you need. We picked up three bags of great sea shells. Love this place!

Great Place!!

We stayed for a few days with my family. Everything was nice and clean as advertised. The only complaint that is out of the property managers control was the water. At first the water had a foul smell to it. I ran a reset on the water heater to hopefully flush out the bad water but it didn't help. The property manager mentioned the local water has its ups and downs. Showers weren't the best and everyone brushed their teeth with water bottles. At the end of the day everything was fantastic and nice minus the water dilemma. Property manager was very responsive and respectful.

Excellent getaway!

This is a great place to stay if you want a quiet getaway. Love the walking access to the beach, and the neighborhood is nice with little traffic. The house is the perfect size for bringing some family or friends, and the amenities in the house are great for anything from cooking/grilling at the house to watching a movie in the evening. There’s also an outdoor shower area and a fenced yard for pets or small kids. We will definitely visit again!

The house was walking distance to the beach. The fenced in yard was great for our dogs but be sure to bring OFF for the mosquitoes . Check in was confusing since the directions I received about downloading an app for the door lock was not needed. The place was neat but needed a deep cleaning. We found candy and chip wrappers under the coffee table and bed. The house layout was perfect for my family and kitchen was easy to cook in but needed deep clean and updated pots and pans. We left as soon as we realized that the tap water was yellow and smelled like sewage. The owner tried to help us troubleshoot but ultimately said the water is always like that and there was nothing he could do. We were disappointed that we were only refunded a portion of our rental fee. We felt like this property description was misleading because it did not disclose that the water was unacceptable.

Family and pet friendly.

Rock House is great for families and pets. They have a large fenced area for the dogs to enjoy the outdoors and a gate at the top of the stairs to keep pets or even children from leaving the deck. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beach is a short walk down the street and over the boardwalk. The nearest boardwalk does have stairs so it's a bit tricky with a wagon or stroller. It's just as easy to drive to the beach as well. We were very happy with our stay.

Weekend Retirement Event

Had a retirement party in Freeport on Saturday and decided to rent a beach house for the weekend. The house was central to the location. It was perfect for the weekend. Loved the fenced in yard for our dog to go outside. The property was clean and the lay out was great. Quite cul-de-sac away from the Beach but within walking distance. Only wished the place had a drip coffee maker and all would gave been perfect.

Last minute summer trip

The house is great. Clean, comfortable and well stocked with what you need. Easy access to beach with short walk and also close to vehicle access roads. No complaints, only a few suggestions. Maybe time for a new refrigerator. It doesn’t cool that great. Also the front door doesn’t click shut, it only pulls to unless you lock it.

Rock House Visit August 2023

The property was as described. We enjoyed our stay there and found the beach was just a couple minute walk away. The kitchen had the items we needed. Owner had a regular coffee maker delivered as requested though it arrived on day two. The couch and the beds were comfortable along with the central air conditioning and fans. A PVC pipe disconnect of the water supply was addressed and fixed by maintenance quickly after our call for help. One issue on the downside was the fact that both toilets had flush components in the tanks, that needed to be replaced. We had to fix the toilet flush mechanisms several times during the stay. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation at the Rock House. Thank you Johnny.

Family Friendly

Overall, the property is very nice and the walk to the beach is quite easy. The accommodations inside are clean, family friendly and the lay out is nice. It easily held a family of 7 and provided enough seating for everyone for meals and for entertainment nights inside. You're close to the 'town' which made it easy to run quick errands for the few things we forgot. There is also filtered water at the sink, which made cooking easy as well as water for coffee. All of the kitchenware we needed was provided, and I loved the wine opener! The only area that needs some updating is the outside of the home. The patio furniture is rough and the gliders are broken. The sea air has taken it's toll on the wood and the outside of the home which is to be expected close to the beach, but updated pictures would be beneficial. Communication with the owner was fantastic! He was quick to respond and provide suggestions and had even reached out to us when another home let them know about an issue. We loved our time here, and the family had a lot of fun!
