Charge your soul, charge your car! "A Shore Thing" is a beautiful, newly remodeled and updated three-bedroom, two-bathroom second row beach home with ocean views. Located in the Swan Lake subdivision of Surfside Beach just steps to the sand. Amazing water views from a large covered front deck, just a short walk to the beach. Shaded parking under the house. Guests can enjoy the charcoal grill and enclosed shower downstairs for rinsing off when you return from the sandy beach. Upgraded whole-house water filtration plus additional reverse osmosis (RO) faucet in kitchen.

** Guests can charge their cars here with the sought-after NEMA 14-50 outlet. (Please bring your charging cables.) ** There are 2 security cameras on the exterior of the home to cover the deck and underneath the home. They do not record audio and are installed solely for protection of property,

This was one of my favorite stays, everything was perfect, the house was super clean, roomy and cozy, the host was amazing and very available. I would highly recommend, and we will def be back!!!

Great stay

Nice house close to the beach. We loved the shaded front porch. The house had updates throughout. We appreciated the water filter in the kitchen.

Awesome Vacation House

Great experience all around. House was awesome, host was awesome, very close to the beach and pretty much all you need is furnished. We highly recommend!

Freeport Getaway

The house was very pretty and clean. Our favorite part was the open plan living room and kitchen area where we got to hang out and play games. We also loved how close the beach was. Everything was perfect and we were very happy with our stay.

A Shore Thing is a sure thing!

Vacation on Surfside Beach was awesome for my nieces and their families. I rented this lovely beach house for my nieces and their families. There was lots room for all 10 of them and probably could have had for a couple more people. The location was great, short walk to the beautiful beach and not far of you wanted to go into Galveston. The house was very clean and had a large open living room /kitchen area. Our Host Matt was very quick to response to questions and got back quickly. Definitely would love to come back.

Awesome House very close to beach

This property was great. One short walk between the two houses on the first row and we were at the beach! House had plenty of dishes, pots and pans as well. There were lots of games we played when it got too dark for the little ones to be at the beach. Beds are comfortable, towels were great quality and the whole home set up was awesome. Plenty of space! Beach can be seen from chairs on porch. My kids range in age from 3 to 18 and everyone had an amazing time!

Very nice home

Only issue we had was the AC in one bedroom. The room wouldnt cool as well as the rest of the home. Being coffee ... everything else was perfect!!

Pre Spring-Break break

What a great place to relax! The spaciousness of the cottage was a welcome sight. A large family area with lots of games and reading material. The porch has two picnic tables and lots of extra chairs. The kitchen is well stocked. We boiled snow crab and bbq’d hamburgers. Everything we needed was there. The beach is a short walk over the sand dunes. It is well kept and patrolled by local law enforcement. There was a large driftwood tree, just past the sand dunes, on the beach. It was the perfect place to set up our bonfire. If you forget anything, there is a convenience store up the road. They also sell fishing licenses and souvenirs. There are restaurants and a bar minutes away. Golf carts are allowed on the beach and there is a rental place nearby. Surf Side is so different from Galveston, much more family friendly and less crowded. It was a great weekend. My family really enjoyed themselves. We will be back.

Good, not great

First of all, the location is great! However, when we arrived the temp of the house was at 82° - a little strange if you know guests are coming. Temp didn’t go down after a while, so we contacted management (quick replies - a plus!), they sent someone out and pipes ended up needing to be flushed out. By the morning, it was down to 73. That was great, except every day it got up to 82 again. I realize it’s hot, and a lot of A/Cs have a hard time keeping up, but the house isn’t that huge. Also- this isn’t our first time vacationing in Surfside over the summer, but this is our first house to get this hot. It should be noted that the bunk room is HOT. Like really, really hot. Back two bedrooms stay at a comfortable temp. We did not turn the temp below 70, and we kept doors and windows shut (like asked). Kitchen is pretty well stocked. Having a covered deck is nice at all times of the day.

Nice home, great location, hosting skills need some work

Our group of 8 (3 adults, 5 kids) stayed over Memorial Day and had a wonderful time. The house is beautifully furnished, comfortable, roomy, and steps from the beach. Unfortunately when we arrived the AC was turned off and the house was 90 degrees. It took 10 hours to cool to an appropriate summer temperature. I requested a partial refund for that very hot first night but as of this review that has not yet been addressed. Other things to note: - Though there's a filtration system, the water is not potable. It's dark yellow and salty and you'll need to supply all of your own drinking water. - There are only 2 bathrooms plus an outdoor shower; the listing said 3 bathrooms when we rented it. - The chef's knives in the kitchen all had 2 inches broken off at the tip or were rusted; they work, but they're not in good condition. - One of the beds wasn't made and one had sand in it so we had to change sheets the first night in the two top bunk beds. - We only had 5 towels for 8 people, though the property manager dropped off more the next day. Look for extras in the upper closet of the bunk room. - The access code is for the lockbox, not the front door keypad; that tip should save you a little time when you try to enter the property. - The property owner said we left stained bath towels; I'm not sure what they were stained with as we only used them inside for drying off after showers and didn't inspect them for stains before we used them, but be aware up front that if you leave dirty towels, they may penalize you for it. Overall it's a lovely place and a great location, but taken together, the snafus above tainted our enjoyment of the place. Easy issues to fix with a little bit of attention.

lovely and very quiet. So restful and relaxing. Some minor things I think you might want to be aware of. The floor in both bathrooms are lifting up, (maybe due to water?), the bathtub fixtures in both bathrooms need replacing, hard to take a shower, ants were noted in the silverware drawer, and loose boards on the steps up and handrails. Would rent again. Thank you.

The house was very clean and put together amazingly. The walk to the beach was also better than driving up. We had a great time but some of the amenities weren’t too great. When we got there the A/C was on 73 degrees but the house literally stopped cooling with people inside and literally didn’t cool down until we left the house and went to the beach to cool down. They recommended the a/c not to be lower than 70 and we were sweating, I had 12 people with me. The water didn’t have a filter and the water was disguising. I recommend bringing everything you need especially utensils, they were rusted. Overall I give it a 8/10

The faucets in the baths are in pretty bad shape and difficult to function. They need to be changed. I also suggest cleaning to toilet tanks to remove scum; kind of gross to flush and see scum come out. Great kitchen and utensils. One dining chair is in disrepair with a broken bar that falls off.

June 20-25 Fanily Vacation

We had an amazing time staying here! They had everything we needed, and of course they told us what extra stuff to bring just in case. We had a week stay and it was a great time away! Only thing i suggest is bring extra bug spray for between the houses on the walk to the beach. The host always answered any time i had a question and was very nice. Thank you for letting us make this our home away from home!

Our stay was amazing, it’s was right in the middle of everything we did. The towels were the only thing, they were worn and dark stains looked like someone polished their boots. We loved the house and very well stocked. We want to rent for next year Great place!!

Beach view at an affordable price

You can see and hear the waves from the very spacious covered front porch. The only thing missing from the kitchen was garlic powder. The king bed was so comfortable and I really enjoyed my afternoon nap on the living room couch. The neighborhood is so quiet. There’s a little sandy opening on the dunes that you can walk across to get to the beach. I definitely recommend the house and we will definitely be going there in the future.

Clean spacious but water smell was horrible.

The house was clean and spacious. The only bad thing was the water smell and pressure was horrible it was a very bad smell to even wash your teeth we had to use water bottles.
