Mammoth Lakes Chalet Walkers Paradise

Awesome corner unit 2 bed/2 bath townhome across from hot tub and sauna. The bedrooms are downstairs and the open living space is upstairs, which is spacious and comfortable with new huge couch, chairs and dining table. The up stairs stays warm during the winter and at night and you aren’t hot when you go downstairs to sleep. Also, the location is perfect across from the hot tub and sauna in the complex in the heart of town. It is a block away from the market, and across the street are 4 different places to eat including live music but walking distance to many restaurants and amenities.

The commute to Canyon Lodge & Sierra Star golf course is just minutes, and the free shuttle picks up directly across the street from the complex to take you to any lodge or the village quickly. Corner unit with lots of windows for sunlight and to watch the snow fall. Upstairs patio deck for fresh air and BBQing.

All furniture and mattresses are new as of December 2021 with Heavenly mattresses, smart TV’s in all rooms, Apple TV’s, and the fastest internet for working remote. New solid wood doors for sound, blackout curtains for sleeping in, oversized new water heater so everyone has a hot shower and new stackable washer and dryer. The shower heads and toilets are also new and retrofitted for taller guests. The wood burning fireplace is amazing and we provide wood to burn.

We love to cook and have all new appliances and utensils. This is primarily a second home for our family so we rarely rent it out more than 30 days a year to keep it nice and the wear and tear to a minimum. We also have a Peloton bike for getting in a quick workout so bring your spin shoes for a warmup before the slopes or a hike!

We have family allergies to pet dander so please no pets unless certified assistance animals. We have several recommendations for pet sitting in town if you have to travel with your animals. Strict maximum of 6 people with a recommendation of 5 adults.

This is not a typical rental unit and we cherish ultra clean surfaces & nicer linens and higher end finishings. You won’t be disappointed but if you’re looking for a budget lower end accommodations this isn’t for you. We hope to host you soon!

Nice place, as advertised

the apartment is excellent and as advertised. Especially for those who spend most of their time adventuring in the mammoth lakes area.

Excellent Mammoth Condo in great location

We stayed here for 4 nights in Jan. 2024 (wish we had better snow compared to the last 2 years). Really great 2bd/2ba condo near Vons off Old Mammoth Rd. Location - excellent, just a super short walk to the green line bus stop. We took the shuttle each day to the slopes. Condo is down the street from Cafe Crepe coffee food truck adjacent to Outbound Mammoth. Can easily walk to Roberto's or Warming Hut Rest.Community - we had parking right in front of the unit and never had an issue with parking in the evenings. I think 2 cars are allowed but we only had 1. Our only complaint is the pool and jacuzzi were run-down. I think the HOA needs to update and upgrade. I don't fault the individual homeowner here. A few steps to get into the condo from the parking lot. Very easy accessible.Condo - comfy 2 level condo. Bedrooms are on the lower level and everything else upstatis. Everything was super clean and cozy. Nice super comfortable furniture. Beds were very comfortable and bedding was very nice for a vrbo. 2 very clean bathrooms with 2 showers (and 1 tub). Heaters are available in every room and work great. The kitchen is fully stocked and super clean. No issues with the in-condo entertainment.We would definitely stay here again and re-book in the future. My only issue is they don't allow pets but I understand the risks associated. Owner was easy to communicate with. Check in and check-out were very easy. We'd highly recommend to future travelers.

Exploring Mammoth Lakes

A few hiccups at check in but hosts were responsive. Comfy beds. Clean. We got a lot of use out of the hot tub just across the way. Conveniently located.

Worst experience ever, DECEPTIVE OWNER

When we first booked our trip, we weren't sure if it was 5 or 7 persons that would be staying with us. The listing allowed for 7 and the price was the same for both 5 or 7 persons. Any rational person seeing that would think, if we end up with 7 it should not be an issue. Prior to the day we arrived, the property owner NEVER contacted us. We just got ONE automated message. The night before our arrival, I had to initiate the conversation to get the code. Upon arriving, on the property, my gf and another friend of ours was rudely greeted by the property manager asking us about our stay. He questioned us on our stay, how many people were staying with us and how many cars were to park here. I told him we'd have 7 guest, and possible 3 cars. He then rudely said commented "youre only allowed 5 guest and 2 cars. HOA only allows for 5 guest to stay here". This was our first time hearing of this... here is when the deception begins. I told the rude property manager who is NOT the property owner, we will discuss the amount of guest with the owner, and we told him only 2 cars is fine. I shortly get a call from the PROPERTY OWNER threatening to report me to VRBO using the RING camera for 7 guest showing up and 3 parks parking in their lot. Keep in mind, it was only me, my GF, and our other friend who had shown up. Everyone was still driving over. The property manager lied to the owner of our head count. After that conversation, my group got on a FT call and discussed our options. We reached back out to the PROPERTY OWNER and showed her the screenshots where it allowed 7 people. Shortly after she changed the listing to say allows 6 people, and when we brought up the PROPERTY MANAGER saying only 5 guest was allowed, she changed the listing to allow for only 5 guest. All in the span of 2 or so hours (we have screenshots of her changes). She mentioned that there had been signs on the house saying it only allows for 5 guest, which is also incorrect we have pictures of the sign she is referring to which shows 7. We asked for a partial refund, but the entire time she was very defensive and not willing to work with us even though we had a strong reason to be returned partial funds. We have filed a formal complaint with VRBO. We ended up having to send an entire car of friends back to San Diego, when they were already in Lone Pine. We spent over 4 hours trying to resolve this with OWNER, but this honest review is our only justice. Don't stay here.
