Host responded quickly when questions raised, before check in & after. Absolutely gorgeous view. Only sounds heard was the ocea. Convenient location to area.

Great Location

We have stayed in this building several times. You can't beat the location. Our flights were cancelled for several days and the property management was great to work with and extended our stay.

Excellent location!

Great unit, although interior is a bit "worn", proximity to town makes it worthwhile. Waves on the shore lulled me to sleep every night & sunrise to sunset views from the lanai we're so beautiful & always different every day! Highly recommend these condos & hope to visit again soon!

Staying in Paradise

Waking up to the sound of the ocean at your window or from your lanai was breathtaking. Being able to hear the waves crashing against the rocks at night was relaxing. Easy access to the beach, main strip in Kona and all the restaurants and stores! Well worth the stay and definitely would recommend this condo and property to all my friends!

Gals trip to Hawaii

Our first time in Hawaii this condo worked out well. Great views of the ocean, nice pool, parking spot, working elevator, and walking distance to eateries & shoppping. Only one glitch, the hide-a-bed was broken so our 3rd person had to sleep in the sofa as is. We would stay there again.

Good location

Good location...AC was out, but fans were provided and sleeping was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, and this unit had beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach towels, snorkeling masks, and some stocked supplies in the cupboard. Great for us.

Great one bedroom condo with exceptional view.

Great location and incredible view. Short walk to restaurants and shopping The online pictures are accurate with the exception of the view, which exceeds what the photos are able to show. Well stocked kitchen. This is an older building, but if you are looking for a one bedroom condo with location and view, this condo cannot be beat. Would stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay!!

We have stayed at Hale Kona Kai every year over winter holidays. We love the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks and the proximity to Kona. We also love the view of the activities right outside our deck. Some condos are more updated than others. We prefer to stay on the north side because of the sun. We highly recommend Hale Kona Kai!

This was a great location to walk the downtown. Also being just south allowed us to move about when kona closed down for ironman needs. I will say the view is lovely but you do face slightly sw so no sunset from lani. But that just means heading to the pool the sunset. Not a back option. Would definitely stay at this property again

Amazing Ocean Views

Well equipped condo with views of Boogie Boarders on late afternoon rides. Condo is well equipped and we cooked all meals in the condo and ate on the lanai watching whales and spinner dolphins in the morning. Staff were attentive and very helpful. Washer/dryer on each floor was so helpful as we moved from another location last minute.

The property is tired. The unit was tired but clean and tidy. I didn’t use the only on site bbq due to it being dirty and run down,BUT, you couldn’t find a more desired location. Beautiful ocean front. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. We walked everywhere except when exploring the islands sites and hikes,

Great Stay

View of the ocean was spectacular. Location was excellent. The unit had typical condo furniture and was very clean. The smoke alarm broke (continuous beeping) and when we contacted management it was promptly repaired. Improvements could include updated music system and a blender. After all we are in Margarita Ville.

Beauty and convenience

This property will delight all who come to Hawaii for the gorgeous beauty of the ocean. The view is perfect. You can watch surfers from the lanai as well as Spinner Dolphins. Just sitting and enjoying the stethoscope and sounds of the waves will melt your cares away. And it is only steps from town. You don’t even need a car. And the manager is super kind and responsive.

Overalll...Not terrible

The location is great, view is awesome! Check-in and out were easy and communication was great. Saw some Sea Turtles in the tide pools just below our room and saw whales way out in the distance. The room is out dated and a bit musty smelling, but still clean. Had snacks and coffee as a small gift from owners which was very nice. Thank you!! Mahalo

Unit is forsale

The unit was run down ect, in every aspect. Dripping water, carpet worn out, view incredible and the customer service eas great. We had to move to anither unit.

Dated property but great location

Overall, this was a great location to stay while we're in Kona. It's located walking distance to a few small beaches and all the shops. The property management company was great and extremely responsive! The rental is a little dated and had some items that looked like they hadn't been touched in a while (VHS tapes, dvd play, CD player, lots of dusty of cords). If you plan on working while you stay here, there were a few times where the wifi would drop randomly. Overall, not a bad place to crash while you are exploring the island.

Dirty bedroom window and broken shade Sun shade on lanai did not work Throw rug on lanai worn out-needs replaced light above kitchen sink didn't work a few bugs visited

Our Stay in Paradise.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hale Kona Kai on the Big Island. Everyone was so nice and loved the condo we stayed it. Had a really great view. We got to see a cute Sea Turtle swimming around this little area on the other side of the pool from our Lani and really cool yellow tangs. Watching the boats, parasailers, outrigger teams and even the various swim teams go by were awesome. The best was when we saw the pod of Spinner Dolphins jumping around out in the ocean from our lani. It was very hot with high humidity and it was great to have air conditioning. I would highly recommend starting here. Very short walk to Alii Dr were there are many shops and restaurants. Lots to see and you don't even have to drive if you don't want by. Very good location. We hated to leave.
