The property was beautiful! We had a great family time in this charming cabin! We loved playing games in the dining room and sitting on the porch watching nature come alive. Beautiful place and loved the history about the cabin!

We really enjoyed staying here. It was peaceful, private, and quiet. Everyone had their own space. The property was clean and had everything we needed, like wifi and cellphone coverage. It was close to Fredericksburg which was the main focus of the stay. Thank you!

Weekend Retreat

This was a peaceful, lovely cabin for my husband and I as we spent a weekend exploring the area and porch sitting. The hosts were delightful and helpful. We loved being close to their small herd of sheep, Ida Belle and flock of birds.

Look no further. You CANNOT go wrong with this property. We will be back. It is simple country living with all the amenities you need. Nothing but relaxation at this place.

Awesome place

We really enjoyed our stay. A very quiet, clean, well set up, secluded house for the family. We cooked a lot of meals in the big kitchen and enjoyed an evening fire and games in the living room. The house has a TV, but we never turned it on. Also a beautiful porch to watch the sun rise and the birds play while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Cabin

The cabin was old with tremendous history. It was awesome. We sat on the porch and watched the full moon and stars at night. It was relaxing and peaceful. I loved the goats and we fed the birds right from the porch. We also saw a red fox in the pasture. It was lovely.

Disappointing

Tub wouldn’t drain, owner dropped off Drano. Coffee pot didn’t work. Owner dropped off vinegar. Kitchen pots pans and utensils were sparse and very bad condition. Owner dropped off used skillet and knife both should be donated. Asking me to fix rental problems is nuts. Best part we’re bugs. Notified owner all of this and left the second day after paying for three.

Good afternoon, Lisa. We're sorry to hear you were not satisfied. However, we do want to clarify a few details. At no time were you asked to take care of "problems" with your rental. All of your requests were addressed on a timely manner by the owner of the property. The "bugs" you have mentioned were found outside the home, and as bugs occur in nature, there is nothing we can do about that. Your review also implies you were out money you had spent, which is not true. The owner of Country Delight was extremely compassionate and took your comments to heart. You were refunded in full for the third night of your stay. We do again apologize for any inconvenience, but the contents of your review are not fair or accurate. Every possible solution was offered to you at the time of your stay. Thank you.

Family getaway

The cabin was magical. We felt like we had stepped back in time, but with all the comforts of today. Absolutely beautiful land. The beds were comfortable, cabin was very clean, and the A/Cs worked very well. Pleasantly surprised to be able to park car in barn so that it wasn’t so hot when we headed into town. We’d all love to go back and will stay here again.

Beautiful Getaway

The property is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. The home is charming and beautifully maintained. While the home is historic, so were the beds, linens and towels...embarrassingly so. We would have enjoyed our stay much more had the beds not been trundle beds with thin mattresses and linens/towels not dated back tot he 70s and 80's. This had a major impact in our ability to relax and re-energize.

Great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet and comfortable spot in the country.

The pictures don't do the property justice! The property transports you back to the 1700's, but with modern amenities and comfort. The house was extremely clean and comfortable and the grounds were beautifully landscaped with native plants and pathways. The nearest neighbors were the sheep grazing in the nearby fields. Perfect place to get away to the country and yet be downtown in 9 minutes!!
