Long leaf pine floors ,with 11+Ft ceilings.Furnished in a relax Hill Country Style with leather seating , cowhide rug ,and other vintage pieces with a timeless feminine touch. Two covered porches with plenty of seating to enjoy a morning coffee or evening wine.
Whole-house backup generator ensures continued comfort in the event of power outage.

Look no further, this is the house you want!

This property was perfect for us. Spacious rooms, several amenities were provided to make our stay that much more enjoyable. This owner really provides a welcoming experience. There was coffee, soaps, spices, detergents, and amrita else you could need. It made it easy to settle in and relax.We

Girls trip to Fredericksburg

Awesome mother/daughter trip

We have been coming to Fredericksburg for a mother-daughter trip for several years. We all agreed your house was our favorite. We each had our own room, and there was plenty of space to spread out. We really enjoyed the back porch. We sat out there and had snacks in evening and had breakfast there in the morning. The neighborhood was so cute and very quiet. We will definitely stay there again.

Our favorite in Fredericksburg

We have stayed at this wonderful home many times over the years, and it is still as great as it was the first time we stayed there! It’s clean and comfortable and has everything we need for a relaxing stay. We will stay there again next year.

Charming and Idyllic!

This home was exactly like the pictures showed, but even better! The spaciousness of the property surprised us when we arrived, but the charm and character was exactly as we expected! Heidi made the check-in process so easy and flexible. We'll be back!

Exceeded expectations

Friends and family met for the solar eclipse. All five of us were delighted with the charm of this cozy comfortable house. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We were disappointed that she is firm about not allowing dogs but when we saw the house we definitely understood. If that were my rental house, I wouldn’t allow pets either. Also, I had occasion to communicate with the owner, Heidi, before our stay. Her responses were consistently prompt, warm, clear and helpful. We would choose this property and this host again without hesitation.

Great Host

The host was incredibly kind. We had the best stay the house was perfect and clean to accommodate our family. We will definitely use this house again on our next visit.

Wonderful Visit in Fredericksburg

We so enjoyed our stay in Fredericksburg and at Elsa’s Gatehaus! The property is beautiful and was very comfortable. We especially loved the front and back porches - spending time with our family drinking coffee, talking and laughing! The owner does an awesome job of providing everything you need for an enjoyable visit and her communication was awesome! We hope to return!

Charming Cottage

This cottage is well maintained, clean and comfortable with plenty of Fredericksburg charm. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well appointed. We enjoyed sitting on both the front and back porches. Would recommend!

High school friends getaway

Four senior aged friends from high school stayed for two nights. We had a great time and the house was perfect. Close enough to walk downtown if the weather isn’t too cold. We walked once but took the car otherwise as it was chilly and windy. The host was very responsive prior to the visit with answers to questions we had.

Enthusiastic Thumbs Up

We enjoyed our annual Christmas gathering and couldn’t be more pleased with our accommodations! It was so cozy and conducive to quality family time. We gathered around the kitchen and great room to exchange gifts and play games...a mom's dream...adult children laughing and enjoying being together! The furnishings are darling; an eclectic mix of classic comfortable and farmhouse chic. The beds are very comfortable. The house was very clean and tidy. Thankfully the pantry was stocked with coffee and necessities that we had forgotten! Front and back porches are comfortably and thoughtfully arranged. We didn't use the firepit but it was ready for us anyway! Thank you, Heidi for hosting our memorable get together!

Very lovely, comfortable home. Loved all the vintage decor. The house provided us with everything we needed & the comfort of home. We’re so appreciative that the house was decorated for Christmas. So enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave.

Fabulous all around

Met up with a bunch of friends for a Fredericksburg girl's weekend. The house was large enough to keep our group of six comfortably. It was even decorated for the holiday (Thanksgiving). All the communications from the host were pleasant and timely. The neighborhood was nice and quiet but we had easy access to Fredericksburg main street and food and shops. Would definitely do this again

Noce plqxe. Comfortable beds. Well decorated. Close to town. Clean. We had wverything we coupd possibly need. From coffee to shampoo. I would stay here afain.

Great place!

The house is well furnished, inside and out. Porches in front and back are excellent for visiting. Plenty of sleeping and seating spaces inside. Kitchen and bath are well stocked. Everything was very clean. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into making us feel welcome!
