The yard was huge and with the highway right behind it, it was surprisingly quiet. Beach access was close by and it was a very nice area. The house was very nice and big rooms.

House was clean. Very old sheets and towels. BIGGEST Issue was there where rats running around the house. One got on the bed while one of my coworkers was sleeping. We were picking up feces the whole time we were there. We were working here for the week all the way from Texas, and it was hard to find other accommodations for the group of people on this trip so we just dealt with it as much as could. Couldn't keep food or cook there as feces where on the table, counters, and the stove,

Our stay at Willoughby was awesome! Enough room for everyone, toys for the kids, and a fire pit and grill for the adults! Made our transition while moving easier!

We were in town for our son's wedding and the house was great for our group. The kitchen accommodated our family and the long kitchen table lets us have meals and games together! Thank you!

The house was perfect for two families with four toddlers between us. The place was clean and easy to find. The location and communication with the property owner has a lot to be desired. But if you are looking for a getaway with two families, I recommend this place.

Lovely VRBO

Great place to stay. Comfortable for a family of 8. Kitchen had ample space and everything needed to prepare meals. Bedrooms were comfortable. Shopping close. Would return.

Charming but roomy beach house.

We really enjoyed our stay and because the weather was bad during our trip we spent more time there than we had hoped, but we were able to create good memories around the large table and comfortable living room, then everyone was able to sleep in the 4 bedrooms. The host was quick to reply to any message. This is a good location for you if you are visiting several places in the area.

January visit for work

My company brought a team of individuals for an event in Norfolk. The house offered each person a private room but the opportunity to gather together for work/play/cooking when they're not on-site. It was a perfect house for our needs - lots of parking, safe neighborhood and easy commute. Owner was super easy to communicate with and check-in was breeze. Very good stay; even in the coldest, windiest, snowiest month of the year in Norfolk!!

Cute, Older, small house with serious issues with the air conditioning

The stay was okay, but there were major problems. As soon as I arrived, there was no air conditioning in the house at all. It was 90 degrees in Norfolk that day. When I turned the air on, I saw that someone had set it so that the air would not come on until 10:00 that night. I arrived around 5:00. I was sweating just sitting in the house. It was 77 degrees in the house. It ran for hours, but six hours later, it had only cooled down ONE degree. When I finally laid down and tried to sleep, it was 76 degrees in the house. It finally cooled down in the middle of the night, so by 8:00 that morning, it was pretty cool. The host asked if I wanted her to send someone from HVAC the next morning to check on the air. I said no. We were (all females) on vacation, and if they came early, we would have to get up early, and if they came later, we would have to make sure we were there in the house, and we would not be able to go out anywhere, which was why we went to the beach in the first place. The next morning, after getting maybe 2 hours of sleep, there was beating on the door at 8:00 a.m. I had no idea they were coming. We were all in our pajamas when they got there. The reviews said "spacious room for 8 people". There is NO WAY 8 adults could fit in there. There are only 2 adult (hard, small -full-)beds. All of the other beds are tiny. Only 1 bedroom has a TV. Issues with the upstairs air the next day-80 degrees upstairs we we came back from the beach.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Nellie, and I’m sorry to hear the issues with your stay. We did want to clarify as soon as we heard of the issue, we reached out to you for our soonest HVAC appointment, which you confirmed and agreed to. I am unsure if someone was responding to messages on your behalf. We had to pay an emergency tech even though you turned him away. It turned out to be a settings issue for both times we sent someone to help you. The temperature upstairs immediately went down once you set it to the correct temperature. The settings have been fixed on both thermostats and all is well with the system. Thank you for your feedback.

Place was amazing. Clean & inviting. Host kept in contact at a timely fashion for all our needs. House is distorting spacious & I definitely look forward to renting it out again in the future

A couple of the beds are extra squeaky but overall it's a good place to stay. A nice fenced in backyard for privacy but big enough for kids to play and enjoy themselves. Just a short 5 minute walk to the beach which is nice.
