Great property and handy location on the wine trail and anything else in the Shawnee national Forest area south of CArbondale. Steve was a great host and we woulddefinitely stay there again.

This was the perfect place to stay for a recent wedding. Steve was prompt in communication and very helpful when I had a question. Place was very clean, welcoming and comfortable. Would highly recommend!

This was our 1st stay here. We had a great experience. It’s a great spot for a stay. It’s very close to a lot of the wineries, almost across the street from the bourbon bar n hiking trails. It’s a very cozy n comfortable place. Tastefully decorated and very reasonably priced. I’d recommend it for anyone interested in going to the wine trail

Blown away by how great this was! Clean, the details are not overlooked, unique building. It was so comfortable and welcoming. Fans for the bedrooms were such a great detail. It was such a wonderful place and stay, can't wait to be able to come back, I've told so many friends and family!

Awesome stay
We loved it, and will absolutely rent it again, it was clean, comfortable, cozy, the hot tub was perfect after a day on the wine trails and at the bourbon bar!

Cute place to stay
The place was clean and the host was super nice! We were in town for a wedding at Havisham and this location was perfect! We were able to walk there in just a few minutes!

Perfect location, next to trails, wineries. Quiet, cozy, beds were super comfortable, extremley clean, no complaints at all.

Ladies Weekend
The loft is a great place to stay if you’re in the area for hiking and/or wine tasting. Central location, clean and comfortable beds. Would stay here again and definitely recommend!

Great stay
The location was great, the nearby park and walking trail were perfect for my family. Really close to two wineries and an orchard. Lots of amenities inside.

Great place to stay in a quiet little town, surrounded by beautiful country. Host was very nice when I realized I had booked the wrong unit he helped me upgrade with no issues. Place was clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

My brother and I grew up in Southern Illinois, and could not wait to 'Get Out,' 'Escape,' and go to the big city. I went to school in Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and left Southern Illinois far behind. I thought this was great.
Both my brother and I had very successful careers. His in the IT world of Virtualization, and I in the online advertising, marketing, and market research world catering to big pharma. In a normal year, both of us would fly 125,000+ miles and see many places, countries and sites. Working with clients al over the country and beyond.
As we grew older and our 'success' continued we felt more and more that something was missing. We began to yearn for the hills of Southern Illinois, the slower pace of life, and the people we left behind more and more.
I 2013, I came home for a few weeks to help my mother move my father into a nursing home. After this was completed I flew to Milan for business, and on my way back I received a call that my mother had had a stroke. This was a life changing event for boh my brother and I, and I never really went back to Asheville, NC.
Our father spent the year getting worse, and our Mother spent the year getting better. When my father died in December of 2013, I decided to 'officially' move to Southern Illinois, and my brother to nearby Southeast Missouri in order to spend more time with our mother and be closer with family. I also made the decision to leave the company I worked for and do something simpler, and local to Southern Illinois.
June 1st, 2014 I started my company with the goal to create vacation rental homes in Southern Illinois and help the area grow tourism. Southern Illinois is a beautiful and special place, and I would like to share it with as many people as possible.
In the Summer of 2021, my brother decided to purchase a vacation rental and join me on my adventure. I now manage the day to day operations and we both work on our houses together.
