Private efficiency close to the beach & bay! Great for couples. Dog-friendly.
Enjoy more than just the beach in this bright and airy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom efficiency with porch and fenced yard, located in a quiet, centrally located neighborhood. It's just one block from the bay/sound, and an easy walk or bike to the beach!
The interior space has queen bed, dresser, desk, flat screen smart tv with cable AND roku (with netflix, discovery app, etc), coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. New linens, comforters and towels at the beginning of every season. The bathroom is nautically themed, with walk-in tile shower and granite countertop vanity. Walk out onto the porch for coffee or a cocktail, to hear the birds & smell the salt air. There's a small ocean peek from the porch.
The fenced yard makes it easy to bring your fur baby! Just relax and enjoy the beach or the bay, you'll be able to go see sunrises over the ocean, and sunsets over the sound.
It's a short walk to the beach, with a pedestrian-friendly stoplight crosswalk. Or, it's about a 30 second drive to one of the many public beach access, all with free parking.
The bedroom, bathroom and covered porch are private to you. There is a shared entrance area to walk through (shared with the owner) to get to the stairs that lead to the private porch and the private room/bathroom. The porch overlooks a fully fenced yard that is shared with the owner and her dogs. (I minimize the time my dogs spend in the yard while guests are there. It's usually just a few minutes in the morning and in the evening. I arrange the time I let them out to avoid contact with guest dogs.)
The neighborhood has a soundfront bike path that spans for miles along the water, which is a great place to walk, bike or jog, and this area is known for it's amazing sunsets. All you have to do is walk down the street and explore. You can even follow the path all the way to the Wright Brothers Monument. There's a breakfast place one block away, 2 coffee shops within 2 blocks and more shops and restaurants all within a short walk.
I live above the unit, so I'm happy to give recommendations for restaurants, activities, or help with anything you may need. While I do my best to be as quiet as I can, you may hear footsteps and the dogs barking from time to time.
PLEASE NOTE THE HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING. There is 1 dog allowed with no pet fee. If you'd like to bring a 2nd dog, please request it, and based on age/breed/size, I might allow it. If so, there will be a pet fee.
There is only one queen bed in the room and not enough space on either side of the bed for additional sleeping space, so the max guests is limited to 2.

I'm a surfer, dog lover and Outer Banks explorer. I've lived on the Outer Banks for over 20 years and absolutely love it here. I grew up in Richmond, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech. I spent my first summer on the Outer Banks when I was a sophomore in college and fell in love with the area. I moved here full time when I graduated. I'm so grateful to call this place my home, and can't wait for you to create your own OBX memories.

The location is ideal, in a quiet neighborhood but still close to everything. The beach access is easy to walk to via a pedestrian crosswalk AND it's a wide beach that's always uncrowded. Or hop in the car and there's plenty of other beach accesses with free parking, some with bathrooms, a short 30-second drive away. AND the hidden gem is that it's also so close to the sound and bike path that runs along the sound. We get some of the BEST sunsets over the sound. There are so many shops and restaurants nearby. And I love having a big yard for the dogs. I converted one of the guest bedrooms into this 1-bedroom unit with it's own private bath (I added the bathroom in 2021!). I hope you enjoy it!

Wide, uncrowded beach to the east, and a soundfront walking path to the west with amazing soundfront sunsets!! The easiest walkable beach access is 3 blocks away, where there is a pedestrian crosswalk at a stoplight that crosses the main road and you walk one block to the beach from there. Or head one block to the west and you're at the sound! Multiple restaurants and shops all within 1/2 mile from the unit, many are walkable and pet-friendly. I'm happy to give you detailed info on the restaurants and activities that are close by!
