Relax by the river & sea! Remodeled Mid-Carmel Valley cottage retreat

Follow the path of overarching trees to this self-contained guest house steps from the Carmel River. It's undergone a loving makeover. The farm-style cottage has everything needed for a peaceful, tranquil retreat, yet is conveniently close to shopping as well as spa and dining, visits to the Refuge, Carmel Valley Ranch and Bernardus Lodge. With no traffic, it takes about 12 minutes to downtown Carmel-by-the Sea and 8 minutes to downtown Carmel Valley.

The thoughtfully designed kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, chef’s gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and built in reverse osmosis water system. Double pane windows brighten the dining area. The living room features a 65-inch TV, Wi-Fi and electric fireplace. Step into the bedroom (with 55-inch TV) and discover a California king-size bed enrobed in Egyptian cotton linens.

Everything has been thought of, from easy parking to blackout shades on the windows. And the cottage environment is hypoallergenic in almost every way. Situated just beyond the fogline, the cottage can serve as your base for experiencing the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

*** Please excuse the unfinished but private front yard (not landscaped). The main house is rustic and waiting for a makeover. Please be aware of (possible) two dogs, greeting you on your arrival. Mizuno; yellow lab, 9 years. Wilson; white with black spots, 4 years. Owners live on site. You may or may not see them during your stay.

*****This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of the homeowner.

Great Stay For Honeymoon

Home away from home

My husband and I booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and are so glad we did. This cottage is beautiful! We were able to relax all weekend and enjoyed how quiet it was. Jung and David are so kind and made us feel right at home. We look forward to booking again soon.

Great location in Carmel Valley

We had a great vacation. Everything was immaculate and very well thought out for all the conveniences for our stay. We loved the quiet atmosphere with nature surrounding the cottage. Jung and David are great hosts.

Beautiful home in a great location! Plus cute dogs!

This was such a great place for my mom and I to stay for our mother daughter trip. It was so clean, well-stocked, updated, and cozy. The backyard was nice with chairs to sit by the creek. Also the dogs on the property were friendly and loved belly rubs! Only good things to say!

Great Stay in the Valley

This property gives you the privacy and sunshine in mid Carmel Valley. It's a great location for exploring any place on the Monterey peninsula. The hosts are absolutely the nicest people and respond immediately to any question or issue. The cottage itself is so pretty with windows that open, a comfortable bed, a creek where you can enjoy a glass of wine. Would highly recommend!!

Beautiful and modern

We had a lovely stay at Jung’s property. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Carmel. The unit was recently remodeled, modern and very clean. It’s in a beautiful and quiet setting and a quick drive to hiking, restaurants and Carmel by the Sea.

Serenity for the week

Jung was a pleasure! The cozy cottage with the stream in the back was just what I was hoping. The kitchen was the best kitchen to cook in. I got to even make my smoothies every morning. Highly recommend this gem in the mountains.

Tranquil cottage

Great little cottage at the end of a private, peaceful road lined with beautiful coastal oaks. Fully equipped kitchen, even with butter and cream in the refrigerator. Nice size bedroom with a comfortable king size bed. Lots of windows to let in the light, and the cool evening breeze. One of our favorites!

Best Little Cottage in the Carmel Valley!

Beautifully appointed & remodeled. Plenty of towels, toiletries & top notch kitchenware. Inviting, comfy down comforter & empty dressers/night stands with plenty of outlets & giant TV in the bedroom. Beautiful living room with very comfortable furniture, another giant TV, throws & pillows to cuddle up & watch a movie. Incredible views of green, lush landscape. We can't wait to visit again!

Perfect

This property was definitely a home away from home. The owners have taken great care to think of everything to make a stay more enjoyable down to robes and slippers. This home was spotless and the bed/ linens some of the most comfortable that we have had. The owners are next door so while there was mutual respect for privacy they were friendly and very approachable. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Located close to many attractions we were able to spend our days sightseeing and then our evenings relaxing. This house was perfect!

Peaceful Getaway

A wonderful cottage along a quiet street provided a relaxing place to unwind. Jung was on hand to greet us and introduce us to her 2 very friendly dogs while making sure we settled in ok. The cottage was just as the pictures showed, well stocked, with a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the sunset from the chairs in the front yard and the ease with which we were able to get to/from Carmel and Monterey. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Delightful rental

We've visited Pacific Grove, Carmel and Monterey a number of times, and stayed a variety of places. This time we decided to stay in Carmel Valley. We enjoyed Jung's hospitality and the chance to star gaze at night. The cottage was ideal for us, quiet and comfortable and thoughtfully provided with all amenities. We found the bed super comfortable, the kitchen clean, modern, and well designed. We hope to return in the future.

Lovely Cabin on the Creek

This is a brand-new self-contained mother-in-law unit. It is fully equipped with a full kitchen and all modern conveniences and a comfortable King-sized bed. We enjoyed the two Adirondack chairs in the clear running creek behind. It is just a short jaunt to Carmel and Monterey and so worth staying in the peace of the country.

Cozy cottage

This little gem is the perfect getaway while still being close to areas worth visiting. We actually eloped here, just my wife and I, and it gave us the perfect amount of room to get our stuff done for the big day. Besides the cottage… the host were so nice and friendly!! Jung and David… thank you for helping us create our special day! You both were amazing and so kind. Thank you so much, we will be back forsure!

Everything we needed…

What a perfect little cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing escape from our 9-5s. So many thoughtful touches throughout from cozy robes to toiletries to coffee creamer and chilled water stocked in the fridge. Communication with our host was great with thoughtful directions to finding the house, recommendations to the local farmers market and more. Tucked away from the main road but still a short drive to Monterey and Carmel. We hope to stay here again next time we are in the area

So Peaceful and Comfortable

My Husband and I chose CA to celebrate our anniversary and we chose the perfect place! We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Crabbe's Cottage. After adventure filled days, it was so nice to come back to such a clean, quiet relaxing space. Cooking for us is a big deal when we're away and their kitchen was stocked with great cookware, utensils and everything we needed. The Crabbe's were also so friendly and thoughtful they really went above and beyond to be sure our stay was perfect. We hope to visit again someday.

Hole in One Golf Cottage

We planned on playing golf at Quail Lodge and Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Courses. However both accommodations were quite expensive...more than we were willing to pay. Jung and David's cottage was the perfect location for both courses! It was nestled among the trees, perfectly furnished with everything we needed and immaculate! Definitely would stay there again! Dreamy and serene

We absolutely loved our stay! It was an incredible getaway. The house was exceptional, clean and quaint and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Spa like shower excellent! We didn’t want to get out! We loved the doggies, they are so friendly and good and it was fun playing with them. We can’t wait to return and we are already suggesting to family and friends! Also David and Jung are awesome!!! They gave us a lot of suggestions for restaurants, hikes and spas. It is apparent that they take a lot of pride in their property. We were extremely comfortable. The drive in to the house is very pretty, and the creek behind the house is much larger than we expected and so beautiful! We hope to come back!

Special Cottage in Gorgeous Carmel Valley

Jung and David have put such thought and heart into this immaculate, newly renovated cottage. We can’t say enough about the cottage and location. The cottage is in a serene but accessible location. Enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset out back near the river. It is a 15 minute drive to Carmel and Point Lobos Reserve. Restaurants and wine tasting are a 5-10 minute drive to the Carmel Valley Village. Golf courses and spas are minutes away. Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us. We will definitely be back.!

Lovely Carmel Valley Hideaway

My mother and I came into town for the Big Sur Marathon and a little vacation. This great little spot in Carmel Valley was a wonderful, quiet location that was both convenient for activities and out of the hustle and bustle in Carmel-by-the-sea and Monterey. The cottage was lovely — fresh and clean, had everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time relaxing by the river and walking at nearby Garland Ranch Regional Park. The cottage is decorated with a clean, minimal aesthetic, yet perfectly welcoming and comfortable. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. We were perfectly happy with this spot! Only minor difficulty was finding the cottage upon our arrival, but it’s just sort of the nature of the neighborhood.

My husband and I both grew up on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. We've been married 23 years. We are raising 3 strong, intelligent and beautiful daughters. Our oldest is a Sr at University of Hawaii, middle daughter is a Jr at USC and our youngest is a sophomore at Carmel High. We are an active family who enjoys hiking, playing beach volleyball and traveling. My husband has been a Realtor for over 20+ years and has his license with Sothebys. And I work for a local newspaper. We love living in mid-valley due to the warmer weather and we're not too far from Carmel Beach.

Recently re-modeled. Almost everything is new. Our property is on a dead-end street, so it's very private and quiet. And we're about 8 minutes to Carmel Valley Village. And only about 12/15 minutes to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea.
