Great Homebase Bungalow - 10 Mins to Starved Rock!

Conveniently located right off Rt. 6 for quick and easy access to the parks.
Enjoy this cool Starved Rock Country Bungalow.
Only 10 minutes to Starved Rock, Matthiessen or Buffalo Rock State Parks.
Walk to downtown for great local dining, wine and spirits tasting, boutique and antique shopping plus tons of other fun outdoor activities like horseback riding, bike rentals and trails and the I & M Canal.

This spacious two bedroom home has everything you need for a great getaway: fast Wi-fi, large Smart TV, roomy living room with separate dining area for six, fully stocked kitchen, game room with pub table, darts, foosball table and patio deck with gas grill and table/chairs.

If you have a dog, a pet fee is required: $25.00 / per stay. Maximum two dogs. NO CATS ARE ALLOWED. Simply let me know in your introductory email that you are bringing your dog and I will send the fee request. Thanks!

The home sleeps 6 guests.
Relax in beds with memory hybrid mattresses.
Both bedrooms have a queen bed and convenient USB chargers.
There is also a new, queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.

Get your chef on in the fully stocked kitchen with cookware and dinnerware for six. A multi-unit USB outlet is conveniently located at the large counter/workstation.

The bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and all the basic amenities.

This home is full of bright graffiti artwork and retro touches.

Quilting Retreat

In LaSalle for 5 day quilting retreat a short walk from the house downtown. Two sisters and a friend also came. Really enjoyed the space. Plenty of room, good kitchen and several places for gathering inside and outside. Would definitely book again. No clue what the wine experience question refers to.

Small town cosy

We loved the house and being able to walk into town. Enjoyed local restaurants, shopping, and most of all taking the 1800s canal boat ride.

Nice little house

Nice accommodations near Starved Rock

Nice, roomy old house - great for two couples with plenty of room to spread out and relax after hiking with comfortable beds. Loved all the little touches - handwritten welcome note, toiletries in case you forget any and lots of seasonings and condiments in a fully stocked kitchen. Super close to Starved Rock and nice winery and breweries.

Cozy Bungalow in LaSalle

Charming, Cozy bungalow in LaSalle close to state parks. Very clean and well-appointed . The owner provided dog treats, dishes and a toy as we were traveling with our dog. There is a small game room with foosball, darts, games, books and toys for children as well. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Cute property

The property was as listed. Excellent cleanliness. We stayed with our dogs and there were bowls, treats and toys left for them. Property is on a busy street but noise was not a concern inside the home. Would gladly stay there again if we are in the area.

Lovely Cottage

Such a lovely little cottage close to Starved Rock State Park. Elaine was very communicative and made us feel welcomed. She even thought to welcome our pups too!!

Excellent Stay for Weekend Getaway

Myself and my two brothers stayed at the Joliet for a weekend spring break fishing trip. The house was perfect as it was only ten minutes away from Starved Rock and very close to a lot of good restaurants. The house was very clean and comfortable as well. We had a great stay and created many great memories. Thanks so much for letting us stay.

Cute home, comfortable stay

We stayed two nights. The home was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated all the extra touches. We all said we would stay here again. Highly recommend.

Lovely and cute place!

This house is adorable. Our 5 year old daughter loved the “game room.” We felt right at home and enjoyed the charming town of La Salle. It was a comfortable place to relax after full days hiking at Matthiessen and Starved Rock.

Lovely LaSalle Bungalow Stay !!!

Loved, loved, loved this short but relaxing Easter weekend sleepover. Extremely clean and everything has been restored within the last year or so. Host went out of her way to address the smallest details like extra poop bags for our beloved dog, Bandie. Would buy it and move in except it isn't for sale !!!

Home Base

The Joliet provided a great home case for our leaf peeping visits. Easy access to Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks. Also to pleasant restaurants in LaSalle and Peru. Elaine was great and helped us get access quickly. Property is very nice. It is on a busy street. Parking was easy. A very nice home base.

Good hiking base

Comfortable, clean and well appointed. Owner communicated very well. Dog friendly with thoughtful welcome package. The outside space is limited and unfenced. The property is on a main road near an intersection and hence there is traffic noise which could disturb a light sleeper. Well placed to walk to restaurants.

Weekday getaway

This property was perfect for our family of three. Two adults, our 15 year old son and our Frenchie. Everyone had personal space and there was also space for family games and movie watching. We loved making mock-tails at the bar. I especially loved playing darts with my son! The kitchen was the best we have ever had at a Vrbo! Oh and the “ record player” was a major bonus! Would totally recommend and would definitely stay there again!

Clean and close to adventures

Easy check in, fully stocked 2 bedroom home in La Salle, IL. If you want to go to Starved Rock and other state parks, this is the place to rent. Super dog friendly (we had 2 littles with us) and easy access to everything we needed! Elaine was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. On a main road so traffic noise is to be expected during the day, but once nightfall it became quiet. Safe neighborhood and you can walk to all restaurants and bars if desired. We definitely recommend!

Great Jumping Off Point for Starved Rock Explorations!

My daughter and I came to explore Starved Rock State Park. This place was a short drive to the hiking and kayaking we had planned and just a few blocks walk into downtown LaSalle. The house was spotless, the kitchen well stocked, and the beds comfy. More room than the two of us needed, but would be a great place for families with teenagers who would enjoy the fooseball table, dart board, and the variety of board games. We opted for the comfy couch and the TV after our busy days. Communications from Elaine were clear and prompt. We'd definitely stay again!

Very Clean, Close to Starved Rock

Our family of 6 stopped here on our way home from Michigan. The house was very clean and provided everything we needed. I am surprised no one has mentioned how loud the house was, as it sits right on a very busy street. I would advise ear plugs if you are a light sleeper! The house was as described, the beds were comfortable and the location was fabulous. The neighborhood was a little bit of a concern but everything ended up being fine in the end.

Truly a 5 star experience

This home is larger in person vs photos with very tall ceilings and nice finishes. Elaine is a thoughtful host who truly provides everything: very comfy beds, nice linens and towels, extra garbage bags, extra toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, well stocked kitchen for cooking, charging port with extra outlets, smart TV. There are also fun 'extras' like the record player and records (the kids got a HUGE kick out of that), games, foosball and a dart-board. Plus the doggie extras! I have stayed in many good VRBOs and this was my best experience so far.
