Our Shenandoah getaway

Loved our stay and hikes in the local mountains. Highlight was roasting sausages and marshmallows for s'mores over a fire in the large fire ring along the river. Hosts were wonderful.

Great getaway!

This is a very nice house with a lot of space and privacy. It was peaceful drinking coffee on the back porch while watching the deer graze. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the area

Family Get together

We were in town for my parents 50th anniversary. The house was perfect for our stay. Plenty of room for the kids to have their own space.

Gateway for North End of Shenandoah Park

Very convenient for visiting Shenandoah Park. Convenient for groceries, restaurants, and highway. Would stay again. Great hosts. Keurig coffee maker and soft water!!

Graduation visit

Fine stay. We werent there a great deal as we had graduation festivities to attend. I would suggest adding patio umbrellas on the back deck.

Wonderful spacious home

Our family enjoyed our stay here. The home is really beautiful and nicely decorated. It’s spacious, clean and on a large plot of land. It’s great for a family where you can spread out and not get in each other’s way. There’s a wraparound deck you’ll love. The location is a bit remote, but not far from downtown Strasburg. Highly recommend this rental.

relaxing sibling weekend

was a sibling weekend for our youngest sisters 60th birthday and had perfect time. house is spacious and comfortable. property is awesome with great views. we spent a lot of time at the firepit enjoying great fall weather. deer were plentiful and on saturday when we came back up from the firepit 5 were within 10 yards from front door. great time and we will be back.

golf trip

A few small items could use attention: loose hand rail on the right side staircase, splintered stair treads, microwave turntable does not turn, and the oven light is not working. Overall we found it to be a great place to stay, everything we wanted was just a short drive away.

The Duck Blind

The overall experience was very good with a beautiful view and activities for the family. We were visiting my daughter in the area so its proximity and cost were great and comparable to hotel costs or cheaper but with much more space. The only big detractors was that the water smelled like sulfur. This was a bit of a big deal for some of the family but we managed fine.

Wonderful country getaway

Well furnished, spacious, clean 4 bedroom house. Beds and linens were luxurious. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment and basic cooking needs. Lovely porch area and gameroom. House is very rural with access to nearby river. Basic stores and restaurants 15min away but Shenandoah and Luray are 30-60min away due to small roads. Host very responsive to questions. No wifi and pretty limited cell service when we stayed. Would visit again.

Nice overall. Could use some maintenance.

The property is out of the way and quiet. There is beautiful scenery and wildlife. Toilets and accent chairs are wobbly. Master shower hand shower attachment will not stay upright and front porch could use a good power wash. Second bathroom needs some caulking. Overall nice.

Family Vacation Success

We truly had such a great time for our family weekend getaway. The home is absolutely gorgeous with the most beautiful views of the mountains. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of room. The beds are so comfortable. There are ceiling fans in every room which is perfect. You are able to drive your vehicle to access the river. Unfortunately, we did not know that until the last day. One small complaint is the water softener system. I feel it may be having an issue. We loved this home and definitely would consider coming back for a longer vacation. Thank you Tamara!

Great Stay

- [ ] It’s a beautiful and spacious house and we were pleased with everything. The porch wraps around the entire house, we loved that. The yard is huge and flat. It’s a great place for outdoor activities. You will need to bring games with you, the house does not provide any. There is a fire pit at the edge of the property, far back from the house. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your own folding chairs, none were available for our use. The bug‘s were a little crazy, so bug repellent was our good friend. It’s a nice place to fish, water is not deep and a good area to use waders or kayak. There were a few small issues, however, Tamara (the owner) was quick to respond. If you’re looking to get away, I highly recommend this home.

Beauty in the Shenandoah

We are a group of Civil War reenactors that were in town for the Battle of Cedar Creek reenactment. The house and property are beautiful and clean. There was a small issue with the electricity that was resolved quickly. Some of the outside lights (dusk/dawn light above main stairs) didn’t come on. Overall, we highly recommend this house and property. The gorgeous location and beautiful house make for a great getaway.

The house was a perfect fit for our fall golf trip. Very clean and spacious and plenty of room for four guys. Nice quiet location and check in/check out was simple with no issues.

Fantastic Home!

Our family loved our stay at this location. The property is calming and very beautiful. The river is relaxing and perfect for playing. It was our favorite stop on a 3 week long vacation to the east coast. The host was kind and helpful. I the house was large, comfortable and well supplied (except with toilet paper.. so weird). One thing of advice..i know they're more bugs on the east coast than the west, but the wrap around porch couldn't be enjoyed because of all the spiders. Insect control is HUGELY needed here. I know it's the country, but wholely moley! If you do that and put in a hot tub, you'll have the perfect vacation destination.

Great Fall Foliage Get Away

A group of friends got together for a golfing weekend and to enjoy the fall colors. The VRBO stay met our needs for group entertaining and dining. The house/ kitchen was well equipped with plenty of room for all of us to mingle. The fire pit down by the river was a fun bonus. The host was easy to reach and check-in and check-out were easy the procedures easy and well communicated.

Peaceful Setting

What a fantastic property!! The setting is so quiet and peaceful! We enjoyed walks, saw deer, saw an eagle. Beautiful!! Tamara was so responsive and easy going to work with! One of the best hosts I've encountered. Based on website description we expected there to be no wifi and there was. I am glad that I forgot to rent a portable wifi device as I had originally planned to do. We wish we had known there was an Instapot as we cook with ours all the time. This would have made meal planning so much easier. We really appreciated the tinfoil and baggies we found in the drawer. We certainly did not utilize this property to it's fullest potential due to the nature of our stay Thank you, Tamara!

Spectacular River Getaway

This property was fantastic for my family! We had one infant so we prepared ourselves to baby-proof, lots of power outlets (good for adults, bad for baby), wonderful game room (separate from other living space but window in kitchen allows conversation and connection to game room if desired), wrap around porch (WOW we loved this!), and just a skip to the river access which was AMAZING. The location was perfect for being out of the city and indulging in nature while still driving distance of15 minutes to shops and necessary items. The host was very responsive and answered/helped with all of our questions. The windows and bedrooms were bright and open which made the house grand and relaxing. Highly recommend this rental! Some tips: Like previous reviews we agreed the water was VERY soft so we drank bottled water while on our visit. Wrap around porch is squishy in some areas. There is a family of frogs on the porch at night that are super cool. Say hi! The game room gets very hot during the summer sun. We left the doors open to Kitchen in the evening, that helped. Beds are pretty tough which I love but may need extra cushion for some people. Lighting is a bit confusing/weak in some rooms but wasn’t a huge problem. Overall this house was top notch and Tamara is a great host who is improving this rental all the time. 6 out of 5 stars. 3 enthusiastic thumbs up!

Wonderful stay by the river

We had an awesome time staying by the river! We are a group of friends with young kids and the house was a perfect fit. Tons of room for them to play. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything you need. We drove down on the grass paths to the river each day and fished, tubed, and played in the water.
