This property had enough space for our group of 16 to spread out and enjoy our time at the Lake!! Communication from the host was quick and thorough and there were plenty of activities for our family to do. The lake house and cottage had everything we needed for the evenings we stayed in and cooked. When we did venture out into Hayward, there were plenty of great dining options. We really enjoyed our stay!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The property was nice, and the serene location made for a relaxing getaway. The amenities were good and contributed to a comfortable getaway. However, we were disappointed that, despite accurately communicating the number of guests in our party before our arrival, not all of the beds had been made. As a result, we had to make some of the beds ourselves upon arrival. Additionally, we ran out of toilet paper on the last day of our stay. After searching the property, we were unable to find any extra supplies, so we had to ask family members to avoid using certain bathrooms for the remainder of our stay.With a little more attention to these details, the overall guest experience would be even better.Despite the above issues we would stay here again. It was a nice vacation house and cottage for a large family.

Regarding the beds: our bunk beds are intentionally left unmade — this is a safety preference for our cleaners, and it's shown clearly in our listing photos. Great winter getaway

We had a very enjoyable stay here. Host has excellent communication. Great location to ski trails and town. Lovely view over the lake. It was very clean and had pretty much everything you need. We would definitely stay again.

Family getaway

We had a wonderful family getaway with our adult children and grandchildren. We all had a cozy place to sleep and great spaces to gather this chilly fall weekend. We would highly recommended this cabin and lake views.

one last snowmobile trip

Great place to stay, the snow and being able to jump right on the lake was great. if you have a long trailer and lots of snow can make the driveway a little tight. clean place and great owners! would def stay again

Family vacation

We had a great time at this spacious property. The lake is beautiful for kayaking and fishing. Very close to town. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Beautifully decorated house and cottage. Hosts very friendly and responsive to all questions.

Beautiful property and area

Great stay! The property was spacious and the larger house with smaller cabin was a great fit for our group. The only downfall was the driveway for trailer parking. Not ideal. Everything else was great!

The nice part about sharing the round-about is that we can share access when needed in the winter months too. Anyways, I hope we see you again soon!

Family friendly open plan

The property was well stocked with extra touches. The bathrooms all had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Appreciated the dog treats, coffee and snacks along with ingredients for s’mores. Very clean throughout and very comfortable beds and bedding.

Great week with family

We rented both the main house and cottage. Lots of space for 12+ people. Beautiful location with activities all around the area. We brought our pontoon and the launch was so close and the lake was so peaceful. We caught lots fish off the dock and out on the lakes. So much fun. Host was wonderful and very responsive with any questions or concerns we had.

Acorn Shores exceeded our expectations

Acorn Shores was a perfect fit for a long weekend! Brittney and Andrew were fantastic hosts - quick to respond, attentive to the little details, open to our dog coming on the trip, and very welcoming! We have stayed on the Tiger Cat Flowage three times previously and knew we were going to have a great time kayaking. The house at Acorn Shores was closer to our own home than a cabin. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Great lakeside retreat

Our family had a wonderful stay at Acorn shores. The main house is spacious with great common space to hang out as well as comfortable bedrooms. The cottage was roomier than expected and offered extra flexibility in terms of sleeping arrangements. The mattresses are all very comfortable. The property offers lots of privacy and is very quiet. We enjoyed having access to kayaks to explore the lake. The hot tub was very nice to enjoy after a long day. The house was clean, well stocked with nice linens and overall a great place to stay for large groups or families. We would definitely recommend.

Ladies Retreat

It's a wonderful property for a nice family get away. We were there when the weather started to dip but still enjoyed a photo session by the lake. I can imagine how much more we could do in summer. The two houses provided a nice break between elderly adult women who went to bed early and my nieces who were in their mid 20's to hang out and tell stories. The kitchen area was just big enough for us to share a meal (15 of us) and allowed us to spread out into the living room. We loved the fireplace and hot tub. Paid for the outside wood but never got to using it-had too much fun just hanging in the lake house.

UTV trip

House & cottage were as expected, although the remodeling phase in basement bedroom was not noted. Many areas are in an updating phase, but otherwise house fit all of our needs. Very tight to turn around trailers, but there is a connecting drive that we were fortunately able to use upon departure. Dirty dishes is dishwasher when we arrived, clothes dryer still full of linens as well. Floors and deck needed a good sweeping. Expensive cleaning fee and not well cleaned when we arrived. Overall nice property, we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful place to disconnect and relax

This was my first time to Hayward. I had been told it was beautiful, but WOW! Venue was nothing short of beautiful. Only down side of this place was the access road did not allow ATV/UTV traffic.. but there was an unload point 4 minutes away. Just required some unexpected planning to get rigs from the house to the trails… driveway is steep and tight. Small trailer would be just fine, but I wouldn’t try to take a 30’ enclosed down it. quiet and safe neighborhood. Calm and clean lake to kayak and canoe on. If possible, be sure to take in the sunset from the dock some evening! Inside of house was very clean and functional for our group of 9. Overall, outstanding experience, Andrew and Brittney were awesome to work with! Got the opportunity to briefly meet both of them when we arrived. Very down to earth people. Will definitely be back!

Great stay for a big group!

We had a great stay at this property! Unfortunately when check in time came the owner had sent 2 separate emails. One with the Wi-Fi information and other with the access code. The Wi-Fi email went to my spam and I didn’t notice until after the whole trip was over. There is no cell service at the property so we had to drive closer to town to email her for the Wi-Fi info and she was in Africa so we didn’t get the info until the next day. There was no welcome binder on the property with Wi-Fi info or other information. The heat was not working in the cabin building and had no way to get ahold of her. The first night we had to sleep in a pretty cold cabin but there were lots of blankets but the babies had to be in the main lake home for warmth. The next day once we we had Wi-Fi and could exchange emails she sent the maintenance man and he couldn’t figure it out so then she sent out the HVAC guy who came and all he had to do was relight the pilot light. Something I think the maintenance man could have done. After that the place warmed up nicely! A few of our group ended up not making it but there was lots of space for playing and sleeping! The yard was dug up due to a septic issue so it was pretty dirty and messy everywhere but the kids loved digging in the dirt. 40$ for firewood I think is a high price especially since we only got to have 1 fire. We would definitely return the location near Hayward is great for my family and the property has such great space!!

The family loved using the kayaks and canoe. The kids caught dozens of sun fish and some bluegill and a Muskie. There was plenty of room for our big family. It was a very relaxing holiday.

Janet, we are so glad your family loved the kayaks and canoe at Acorn Shores Resort, sounds like the fishing was a huge hit too with all those sun fish, bluegill, and even a Muskie! We love that there was plenty of room for everyone to relax together. We hope to see your family back on the lake again soon!

Bachelor Party Win!

Acorn Shores was a perfect spot for our bachelor party! Property owners were great to work with. Amenities were fantastic.

CELL RECEPTION: Please note that cell reception in the area can be spotty and Verizon's network works best. However, there is free wifi at the cabin so that you can communicate if you need over the internet. PARKING/DRIVEWAY: In the summer months, we have parking for 6+ cars. In the winter, we have room for 5. We recommend 4WD cars in the winter. HOT TUB: Be advised that the hot tub may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance. Our goal is to ensure it remains safe and functional for all our guests. While we make every effort to schedule maintenance outside of your stay dates, there may be rare instances where it needs attention during your visit. We appreciate your understanding in this. CAMERAS: We have cameras and a smart smoke/decibel meter on the premises. Doorbell cameras are located at the front doors and monitor the entry and the driveway, and there are others monitoring the driveway, cottage back doors, and wood pile. Cameras are motion activated and record audio and video and are monitored infrequently (typically at time of check-in to make sure you made it in and after check-out, though we reserve the right to check more frequently if we receive notice of rule violations) Your reservation will be terminated immediately if you disable, unplug, tamper with, cover, block or alter the WIFI equipment or security equipment (cameras).
