Beautiful Ocean View Home in Coast Cottages on St Simons Island, Georgia

Thomas Fletcher Cottage is a beautiful example of Southern Architecture. The three stories include five bedrooms all with high ceilings, beautiful moldings, white pine floors, and French doors opening to three levels of wrap around porches. The master is on the first level and includes it's own private porch and Jacuzzi marble bath. The second floor includes a gourmet kitchen with granite and stainless appliances. It is an open and airy floor plan with formal dining, living room with wet bar and family room with flat screen TV.

The porches provide additional living space on all three levels with stunning views of both the ocean and the marsh. The cottage has been beautifully maintained and offers a gracious yet comfortable lifestyle. Coast Cottages provides a brick walkway to its pavilion, two pools, and private beach access. The cottage is a short walk to restaurants, the King & Prince Hotel, and the pier & town.

Family vacation

The property is very beautiful. Location is great. Close to pools and beach. Property was very comfortable. I had to call the owner once during our stay. She was very easy to get hold of and very responsive. We would love to stay there again.

Wonderful family stay

A perfectly sublime stay at Nancy Ward‘s beautiful home. With six teenagers and five adults, all with slightly different agendas and interests, it was a wonderful mix of peace and quiet plus a fair amount of mayhem. . The home itself was clean, well-equipped and conveniently located. Even through the memorial day weekend, which was crowded, it was quiet on the street and surrounding area. We heartily recommend this home as a terrific place for a family vacation.

Beach trip

Home is on three floors. Three bedrooms are on lowest level--including master suite. Two bedrooms are on the third floor. Family living space, including kitchen, is on the second floor. Really liked the kitchen --very ample counter space and nice appliances. Except for master bath, bathroom space is a bit tight--but doable. Wrap around porches are lovely. We ate dinner each night on the second floor porch table. Tree canopy is beautiful! House stocked with ample bath and beach towels. May want to bring a wagon for hauling beach/pool supplies. Homeowner responsive and pleasant.

Had a great time. House was conveniently located to the beach. Only one complaint. Only one person can take a shower at a time. No other showers work when one shower is running. May want to see if that can be corrected.

Perfect vacation house for our family

This gorgeous house was perfect for our family vacation! The bedrooms worked out perfectly for us with all adult children getting their own room and the eldest who has two children had her own floor (3rd) with a sitting area and porch access. The house has a great layout with bedrooms on different levels from the main living space. The main level has a nice open feel and has plenty of space for hanging out and playing family games. All of the beds were used and were very comfortable, with cozy bedding on all. The location of the house was perfect for us too within a very short walk to the beach and pool and easy short drives to great dining places and to the grocery store.

Family beach vacation

The house was wonderful! We love Coast Cottages. Our family really enjoyed sitting on all the different porches and taking in the beautiful views. . Kitchen was very well equipped (we did cook a few nights). The owner was great to work with and quickly responded to any questions we had. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely home a short walk you the beach

We absolutely loved our stay at Nancy’s ! The house felt like home and we were a short walk to our beach access. We loved that the pool was private for our community and Right up from the pier. So going back and forth from pool to ocean with little ones was totally doable ! Perfect home for a large family get away !

Fantastic week in St Simons

We spent a relaxing week at "Nana's" on St Simons Island with our adult children and a few of their friends. While this home is beginning to show some age (could use paint inside and out, and furniture slipcovers need cleaning), all luxury brand appliances functioned well, and overall it truly has the well worn, much loved vibe of a grandparent's beach house. We had an issue with the pool/beach gate code, and a clogged kitchen sink, and the owner could not have been more responsive (sink repaired in less than 2 hours from contact). The 3 wrap around decks were amazing, and the layout was great for our large group with all bedrooms on lower and upper levels, with a spacious master in the rear of the home for loads of privacy and a quiet space for mom and dad. While all homes in this community were very close together, we had no issues with noise during our stay, and the private community pools and beach access were wonderful. This is a great location on East Beach with restaurants and shops nearby. My family had a fantastic stay in this property, and we would love to book this home again!

Not worth the money

We rented this house to have a getaway for our family. I rarely ever leave reviews, but this house was underwhelming at best, especially for a premium nightly rental. The house was not clean, dishes, cups, chair covers and couches were all dirty. There were cigarette butts in the house that my wife found. Bugs were another issue we had a number of encounters with spiders and a cockroach. The dishwasher was barely able to close as the wheels were just about to fall off on the drawers, everything was just generally in poor shape. Also, very limited kitchen equipment (no measuring spoons, 1 old baking tray, pyrex, etc). The house had limited other stock such as no trash bags, etc. Overall, the location and St. Simons Island is very nice and the location was close to the beach, but the house was really disappointing as it was poorly maintained and generally not clean. I would definitely not recommend nor would we come back to this house.

Beautiful home in a perfect location

The home was beautiful and perfect for a big family. It is in an excellent location on a fabulous street. We loved walking and biking everywhere. The owners were outstanding to work with. Communication was excellent. This was our first vacation to St. Simons Island and we look forward to returning soon!

Great, spacious home, close to beach and good restaurants!!!

Listing description was accurate. Easy owner to work with. Great, spacious home. Decks on all floors, we loved to sit outside on them. Enjoyed the open kitchen, cooking dinners. Close to the beach, pools, great restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend to family or friend or anyone!!

Our family has been coming all the way from Kansas City to St. Simons Island for many years. We love the pace and size of the island. It has everything you need within minutes including good restaurants, antique stores, golf, tennis, pickle ball and of course the beach with fishing, kayaking, sailing, crabbing, shrimping etc. There is also horseback riding, bicycling, the list goes on and on. All five of our children and now our grandchildren sneak down as often as time and work allow. After my husbands retirement we are now spending several winter months on the island. Our cottage is our home as well so we rent to families that we know will take as good of care of it as we do.

The location of Coast Cottages on East Beach is ideal. Located between the King & Prince Hotel and the Coast Guard Station affording access to a private beach, two swimming pools and a pavilion. The pier, lighthouse and old town are within walking distance. The marsh behind is available for fishing, crabbing and kayaking. Ocean Boulevard provides great biking trails. We are also walking distance to a number of great restaurants.

Listening to the water, watching the storms come in and the sun set & rise from the decks are at the top of my list. There is furniture on every deck. The cottage also has 3 televisions, a built-in stereo sound system, gas grill, laundry facility, ice machine, Jacuzzi tub and chef's kitchen.
