Amazing outdoor spaces. Hot tub, gardens, huge deck and lots of seating areas. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook. Easy access and parking Great communication with host. Good fit if you want something that feels like a home.

My family stayed at this property to attend my daughter’s graduation from UCSC. The hosts were super helpful and the property was amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor shower, and sitting on the deck watching birds, turkeys, and deer wandering through. My niece and son enjoyed a hike that was recommended by the hosts. The house was well-stocked for anything we needed for cooking. We loved dining outside. This is a gorgeous property and I hope we get to visit again!

Photos do no justice to how cozy and beautiful this getaway is. Hosts were great are very helpful, and the neighborhood is calm and great for startgazing.

Lovely house amongst the trees in Ben Lombard. Hosts were attentive and responsive. Jacuzzi was a warm respite at the end of the day. Short drive to Santa Cruz boardwalk.

The kitchen was very well equipped. We celebrated the holiday and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The rooms were nice. Dining area a little small. If the bathroom with a bathtub could be used as a shower that would be helpful. All in all a very nice stay

We completely agree with you, the dinning room is indeed small as the limited space provided by a 1,000 sq ft home is dedicated to other rooms such as the kitchen. This is why we’ve worked to create wonderful places to eat outside on the deck on in the meadow room during times of good weather. For special dinners sometimes the library bin the old boat barn makes a beautiful much larger dinning space with advance notice.

Jessica that you for taking the time to review. Fall is coming and it is probably the prettiest time in the Santa Cruz mountains and beach. The temps are comfortable, the sky is usually very blue, the fog is rare, the sea mammals are migrating off shore and the rain has not started. We hope you will tell your friends every month is a great time to visit Ben Lomond Bungalow.

This house is great! We stayed here with our family for vacation and the location is perfect for everything you could ever want to do in the area. Every day we saw tons of animals and the house was stocked with everything you could possibly need for your vacation!

A beautiful retreat

Such a lovely property in a beautiful location. The hosts were available and attentive from check in to check out. Be sure to visit the majestic redwoods in nearby Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park!

We are so happy Jill that you enjoyed your stay and the fabulous Redwood Trees found in the Santa Cruz mountains. The 19th century steam train operated by Roaring Camp does run year round and does offer special programs like Beach Train during the summer, Moon light dances and chuck wagon BQ during the fall, and special kid events.

Perfect Location

A great location for the Santa Cruz area. We enjoyed rivers, lakes, forest walks, train rides, and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk all within 20-30 minutes from our stay. The house was amazing and very roomy. Great out door patio and the hot tub was the perfect end of the day rejuvenation. Great place to visit.

We are very lucky to be situated in a place with excellent roads that are normally not congested that lead to many different parts of the coast as well as places within Santa Cruz County. University of Santa Cruz tour trip!

The property is amazing! Cannot wait to come back! The view and wildlife are incredible. The outdoor shower is a must!

We had a lovely time at this beautiful home in the Santa Cruz mountains! Although it was just my husband and myself, the house is large enough for a group with generous indoor and outdoor seating and dining options. We took advantage of the BBQ and hot tub every night. Sitting in the tub looking up at the brilliant stars was amazing! The master bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is spacious and offers everything you could need for food prep. The property is large and nicely well maintained. Breakfasts on the deck watching the turkeys with their little ones was a great way to start each day. We enjoyed visiting Henry Cowell park, but be aware dogs are not permitted on all trails. It's def worth going but you might also enjoy the dog-friendly trails at Loch Lomond. We had a great lunch at the Grove Cafe & Bakery in Felton after visiting the charming covered bridge. A walk/hike around the harbor in Santa Cruz ended at Aldo's which serves excellent seafood on the water at a reasonable price. Seriously, why stay at a busy hotel when you can have this little paradise all to yourself? I highly recommend it!

Just tonight I was looking at the seed catalogue and wondering about ordering 5 pounds of lupine seed for the meadow recalling how my last attempt did not get me very far but did provide a feast for the flock of turkeys that patrolled the yard for days and days.

Lovely outdoor sanctuary

The hosts were super communicative and responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. The property grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. We really enjoyed unwinding in the garden after long days exploring all of the adventures the area has to offer.

We were in area for wedding and it was the perfect place to stay for 2 nights. My In laws enjoyed taking pics of the local birds and walking the yard

Great stay in Ben Lomond for UCSC graduation

We stayed here for UCSC graduation with family of 4. Great location and beautiful outside deck & landscaping. Loved the outside shower, jacuzzi & bird watching. The house had everything we needed to cook & relax and the location was great.

We just happen to have a couple of midweek days open this month if your cabin fever sets in. Or, winter storms in Jan can be amazing in the mountains. If the power goes out, we still have gas and lots of battery operated candels.

Beautiful property and house

The house was the great for hanging out, the property was quiet and beautiful. My family and I enjoyed how close the house was to hiking and the town's but was quiet and peaceful.

Stunning Property and warm inviting home. The beds were comfortable and soft. The house had every amenity that you could need. We were only there for a short stay so we didn't have a chance to use the hot tub nor deck but it was stunning. QUIET. Peaceful. The shower in the hall bathroom was odd as a bathtub with a shower attachment one meter high above the bottom of the tub. It was European. This would be ideal for small children! It wasn't a big deal; we all used the bigger shower in the Master bedroom instead. The house was VERY nice. The owners were very responsive. We would stay here again.

Thank you so much for penning a thoughtful and informative review. You noticed one of the challenges to create a space of 1,000 sq as comfortable for a peaceful escape for two as well as a base for larger groups to relax after a busy day exploring all the cost and mountains have to offer and still keep the attributes of the home I hope to return to one day soon. I love our long 70 year old tub but dislike shower enclosures. Understanding not every one likes to take baths we borrowed a shower idea from Robert’s research in SriLanka and build a garden shower with a black pebble and IPE floor and rosemary hedge wall. The hand held shower wands are found in both the outside shower as well as the hall bathroom tub. Bubble Bath is found in the cabinet.
