Peaceful cabin on the Tennessee River / Lake Chickamauga with 2 bedrooms on main floor and a large loft. Two porches the length and width of the home, one is screen-in and offers a dreamy bed swing and seating for satellite watching tv.

It has a private boat dock for your enjoyment, so bring your boat in the summer! We only have summer water (Approximately Mid April - Mid Oct), so in the winter enjoy the Armstrong Ferry Campground boat ramp 2 miles
Cell coverage is also limited in our area but we do get calls and texts at the Cabin. High speed Fiber internet is now available. Download measured over 800mbps
We are pet friendly. Include your pet in the booking for a small fee. We do ask for the pets to stay off the furniture and the beds. Also please clean up their waste in the yard. They do need to be Potty and Poo trained.

Enjoy the quietness of Decatur, Tn.! Odds are you will see deer so drive carefully.

Chattanooga is only 45 minutes away.
Dayton is 30 minutes away.
Decatur is 19 minutes away.
Howe Farms 21 minutes away.

Sand Hill Crane Festival

Three brothers and two wives met at the Lake House for the Sand Hill Crane Festival in Birchwood. First, the festival was so interesting and fun and a must do if you like birds. Second, the cabin was fabulous! It was a cold weekend but the fireplace kept us cozy. The bedrooms were very comfortable; the kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils; the view of the dock and lake were fabulous. We saw hundreds of sand hill cranes closer up than at the festival viewing site! It was too cold to enjoy the incredible patio and balcony, but, that would be awesome in the summer. Richard was easily available to answer questions. HIGHLY recommended for any season!

Great Stay

The cabin is beautiful we had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend it had amazing scenery, very clean, calm, and excellent communication back and forth with the owner.

Awesome home for quiet getaway

We really enjoyed the stay. The area was quiet and peaceful. Massive yard for the dogs to run an play. The screen in porch was the perfect spot to watch football on a chilly fall afternoon.

Great get away

This is our second time staying at the cabin. We have two large dogs and they absolutely love the property and the space to run. The cabin is always so cozy and comfy and we really enjoyed watching the leaves change since we don’t really get fall in Florida. The host was very quick at responding to any questions we may have had. Certainly recommend this spot.

Peaceful & Tranquil

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The listing was just as explained. My only complaint is that we didn't have more than two nights to stay at the beautiful cabin! If you're looking for "off the beaten path", this is the place for you to relax and unwind. Thank you, thank you, thank you :D

Perfect cabin for a relaxing getaway.

The lake house cabin was perfect for our little family. We spent most of the time on the lake and around the dock. Everything was wonderful and the cabin is very spacious.

A Peaceful Family Getaway

My husband, 8 month old daughter, and I had a beautiful long weekend at this peaceful property. The cabin was comfortable and well stocked with items most VRBOs lack (spices, coffee, blankets, shampoo, etc), but the porches stole the show! We spent most all of our time lounging on either the screened porch on the cozy bed swing or on the water view front porch eating our meals. There were plenty of fans to keep it breezy and cool. We enjoyed walking around the park like lot and swimming from the dock. We had tons of wildlife including birds, squirrels, bunnies, dragonflies, butterflies, and even a family of deer! We only wish we had a boat also because this is the perfect rental to maximize a boat trip! It was a lovely stay!

Beautiful peaceful place

This is a beautiful cabin! The location is off the main beaten path with lots of peace and quiet. There where 6 adults and the house was very comfortable. The side porch is amazing!! The dock on the lake was very convenient and the lake was full of all kinds of fish. We will be coming back very soon.

Wonderful stay!!

Beautiful property!! Great hosts. The house is just as wonderful as the pictures show it to be and the dock/fishing/kayaks were such a hit with our family. We spent most of our time either on the water fishing or around the fire pit. Would definitely recommend!!

Getaway

Perfect cabin in a remote location…. My fiance’ and I had a blast. Dock is perfect and we caught numerous bass over 3 days. Back porch is to die for!!!!! Will be back

Beautiful lake house

This property was absolutely perfect! We brought out fishing boat and the boat dock was incredible - covered and equipped with electrical outlets for charging batteries!

Peaceful retreat!!

The home was even better than what was shown online. The decor was gorgeous. Super clean and everything seemed brand new. My favorite part was the screened porch with the hanging swing. I could have stayed there all day listening to the birds outside. Cabin had everthing we needed and the yard was beautiful. Our dog even got visited by the neighbor’s dogs and some other dogs from down the road. He had a blast.

Baseball weekend

My wife, 2 daughters and grandson came up to watch our son play baseball in Dayton, TN. The cabin was nestled out in the woods along the river and had all the essentials and then some. Richard the host responded to all our needs very fast. We would definitely recommend the property and if we are ever in the area again we will stay in Richard’s cabin.

Great little cabin

We really enjoyed the cabin. We learned a valuable lesson about asking about weather and the amenities ahead of time. We were disappointed as we were not aware Tennessee was in an extreme drought. There was no water at the dock so we couldn’t fish and there was a burn ban so we couldn’t use the fire pit. Overall, we did have a relaxing mini vacation and did get to see some wildlife and experience a little change of seasons that we don’t get in Florida. Would definitely try again.

Goodhope Cabin
