Welcome to Skipper's Cottage! This newly remodeled home offers all the coastal touches you would want for your trip to the beach (special off-season rates available for longer stays over 1 week). The property is located just 3 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Oak Island! It is only 3 blocks away from the 9th Street kayak launch and scenic walkover which takes you directly to the beach. Rental includes 6 Beach Chairs (bag chairs), a cooler with wheels and a beach wagon to save you room packing! This property recently had the interior remodeled with a coastal vibe kitchen, luxurious tile bathroom and flooring throughout. Relax on one of two screened in porches with plenty of seating and dining space. The large yard offers plenty of parking for cars, toys and play space. The bedrooms offer a king bed, queen bed and bunk beds with full size mattresses. You are just a short drive to all of your favorite Oak Island restaurants and bars, as well as a short drive to the quaint downtown of Southport. High Speed Fiber Wi-Fi connection is included in case you have to do a little work during your stay. This is the perfect cottage for your stay at Oak Island whether you are coming to relax, boat, fish, surf, or all of the above and more!
There are two convenient beach access points: Middleton Ave (6 blocks away) and the 9th Street Scenic Walkover (3 blocks away) so you can be on the beach in minutes.
The home is equipped with a grill, fully applianced kitchen with all the dishes, pots and pans you may need, and a Keurig.
There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shopping and activities on Oak Island, and we are here to help you find the ones that will make your trip a rich experience! Beach chairs, cooler and beach wagon also included!

Brian was easy to communicate with. The place was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and it was a pleasant location and a nice neighborhood close to the things that we needed. If I had one quibble, I wish the kitchen were outfitted a little bit better with utensils and pots and pans, seeing as my preference is always to cook rather than eat out a lot to save on money when I'm traveling.

I had asked a question if there were linens and towels. They didn’t respond until we were on our way. It’s not even close to being 3 minutes to the beach. It was more like 20 min. The beach gear was broken and old. The backyard fire pit is in the neighbors backyard and there were only 2 outdoor chairs. That is the only thing wrong and It was a great place to stay for a vacation and we would come back again. Thanks for your hospitality.

Thank you for the review! To clarify a couple points this property does not advertise a fire pit. The fir pit you referenced is the neighbors and not part of our property. The 3 minutes to the beach is drive/golf cart time, not referencing walking distance. The description states that linens are provided so sorry for the misunderstanding there. We counted 10 outdoor chairs on the property including the ones on the screened in porch. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay!

Great vacations hoke for the whole family

The property was clean and well kept and had lots of things for the kids to do while we were there. We enjoyed the location it was private but not to far from the beach. Overall great vacation home.

Perfect for a family getaway

This was a perfect place for my family for our weekend getaway. The host was very responsive and made our trip very easy. The home was clean and newly renovated inside. Will definitely be back!

Family friendly!

Great accommodations! It was nice because they had a pack n play for my infant already there, so it was one less thing we had to pack. Super close to the beach, just a short drive!

Great Family Vacation Home

This home was peferct for my family of 4 (children ages 5 and 11). Eveything was exactly as advertised. The home was clean and well kept and the host was responsive. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and just a few minutes drive from the beach. A nice place and a great value!

Cozy

My sun and my daughter wanted to add a few more days to our trip so we could get some fishing in. So we found this place to extend our stay for just us. It was perfect for us.

Beach vacation

We absolutely loved staying in this house for the quick few days we had at the beach! The communication with the owners was quick and they were so friendly. Everything was as advertised and clean. Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Fantastic stay at this beaxy cottage!

This adorable house is in a great location- very close to the beach and just a quick drive to South Port. It is charmingly updated and very clean. The hosts were respomsive and helpful. They leave a little bowl of snacks and K-cups ascwell as a book in the house and area attractions.We will definitely book this house again!

Weekend get away

We enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was perfect for a nice long weekend. The only suggestion we have would be adding a blind to the door to the back porch from the bedroom for privacy.
