Welcome to Skipper's Cottage! This newly remodeled home offers all the coastal touches you would want for your trip to the beach (special off-season rates available for longer stays over 1 week). The property is located just 3 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Oak Island! It is only 3 blocks away from the 9th Street kayak launch and scenic walkover which takes you directly to the beach. Rental includes 6 Beach Chairs (bag chairs), a cooler with wheels and a beach wagon to save you room packing! This property recently had the interior remodeled with a coastal vibe kitchen, luxurious tile bathroom and flooring throughout. Relax on one of two screened in porches with plenty of seating and dining space. The large yard offers plenty of parking for cars, toys and play space. The bedrooms offer a king bed, queen bed and bunk beds with full size mattresses. You are just a short drive to all of your favorite Oak Island restaurants and bars, as well as a short drive to the quaint downtown of Southport. High Speed Fiber Wi-Fi connection is included in case you have to do a little work during your stay. This is the perfect cottage for your stay at Oak Island whether you are coming to relax, boat, fish, surf, or all of the above and more!
There are two convenient beach access points: Middleton Ave (6 blocks away) and the 9th Street Scenic Walkover (3 blocks away) so you can be on the beach in minutes.
The home is equipped with a grill, fully applianced kitchen with all the dishes, pots and pans you may need, and a Keurig.
There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shopping and activities on Oak Island, and we are here to help you find the ones that will make your trip a rich experience! Beach chairs, cooler and beach wagon also included!

Perfect for a family getaway

This was a perfect place for my family for our weekend getaway. The host was very responsive and made our trip very easy. The home was clean and newly renovated inside. Will definitely be back!

Cute Renovated Cottage

We enjoyed our stay on Oak Island. The cottage is clean with good amenities. We loved spending time on the screened porches. Excellent communication with the hosts.

Not Accurate

The listing did not show outside pictures, and when we arrived we realized it was actually a mobile home in the middle of the neighborhood. The place was updated inside somewhat, but the outside looked rough and the doors and windows and everything were in bad shape. the porch furniture just needs to be trashed, and the beds were very uncomfortable.

Awesome Stay at Oak Island!

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at this Cottage. The home was very clean and the remodeling looked very well. The A/C worked great on such a hot week. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy while relaxing from the beach. The communication was great from the owners and I plan to stay at this home again in the near future. Thank you!!!

The property site is accurate in photos. The distance to walk to beach was longer than I expected. However, we simply drove to the beach and easily found paid parking ($20/daily). Beds were comfy. Recommend a blender for the property (we did not bring). I like good water pressure and this property was 👍. Stayed three days. Beach is very nice for walking! Owner communicated very timely in booking and during stay.

Much needed getaway. Property was located exactly as was stated in listing, however construction on the 9th street access to the beach was under construction so walked a mile to the beach.

Beach vacation

We absolutely loved staying in this house for the quick few days we had at the beach! The communication with the owners was quick and they were so friendly. Everything was as advertised and clean. Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Great vacations hoke for the whole family

The property was clean and well kept and had lots of things for the kids to do while we were there. We enjoyed the location it was private but not to far from the beach. Overall great vacation home.

Great Location

We stayed the weekend for the Run Oak Island race that Saturday. Owners initiated information before I could ask and if I did have a question they responded quickly and were very accommodating! House was clean, beds were comfortable and the location worked great! Will stay again for future races!

Nice Litte House

This property was perfect for our family's long weekend to Oak Island. The kids loved the bunk bed and took turns between that and the queen bed in the other room. The property was very clean upon arrival and there was a nice little "goodie" basket with some snacks, water, etc. The kitchen/dining/living area was nice and open. The walk to the beach was easy, and we walked each day. But if you're not inclined to walk, there is daily public parking for $20. Since this was a short trip we just cooked in each night, but there are many great places to eat nearby.

Beach stay

This was a very newly renovated home with all the amenities! A wonderful place for week at the beach with a small family!! Very clean and the owners had everything we needed when we arrived!!! Very nice and easy access! Definitely plan on using again!!

Easy and comfortable!

This is a great little house and Brian and Lindsay were good hosts. They sent all the info we needed ahead of time and then let us be to enjoy our vacation. The property was clean, neat, and had everything we needed. We did walk to the beach once but ended up driving to the beach access other times so we could more easily carry gear like an umbrella, chairs, and coolers - but the beach was very close and it was easy to get there. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations and other info. Overall we had a great, relaxing time!

Family friendly!

Great accommodations! It was nice because they had a pack n play for my infant already there, so it was one less thing we had to pack. Super close to the beach, just a short drive!

Lives up to the name

Tranquil Harbor was a delightful stay. Set in a quiet neighborhood it was perfect for restful stay. It was clean, well organized, an overall wonderful experience.

Weekend get away

We enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was perfect for a nice long weekend. The only suggestion we have would be adding a blind to the door to the back porch from the bedroom for privacy.

Super sweet house

Everything we needed. You have the ability to purchase sheets, and once you do they will have the beds made up for you when you arrive. It is a very nice house with lots of room. Has all you need to cook, clean, and be as close to home as you can be at the beach. Close to the beach and all the other things on the east side of the island. They were great. I would for sure stay again!
