Our favorite thing was discovering how close of a walk this house was to the nearest beach access. It is a bit dated (in typical beach house fashion) and could use a good deep clean but it's not dirty, if that makes sense. We loved the nostalgia of some of the decor, the quiet little neighborhood, the screened in porch and the outside shower.

What a wonderful home, host, and location! The house was clean and spacious. The house provided all the beach and outside items one would need and it was great not having to lug everything from home. A huge thank you for that! We highly recommend this listing!

the bedrooms were hot and not well circulated, the back door knob would not turn properly to open the door. the front door was difficult to lock. the house was not clean as there was dirt/dust everywhere and the couch/pillows were stained and dirty. those were our only problems the house was in a great location and the host was easy to get in touch with. the house was very nice with great amenities.

The home was clean and very close to public beach access. The host was attentive. Beds were comfy and we felt right at home. We loved our stay here and would most definitely come back.

Great vacation home!

We loved staying at this property. It was close to all the stores we were interested in visiting, just a short walk to the beach, and we were able to bring our dogs. Loved it! Will stay again!

Family vacation

The owner was always quick to respond to us when we had questions. We loved the outside shower. The beds were very comfortable, and although we were close to Route 158, we could not hear the traffic and we all slept very good. We would definitely stay there, again.

After a great stay in 2024, we decided to return this summer! The house is lovely on the inside and has a great open layout. Owners have been responsive over the past few years!

Celebrate high school graduation

We had an absolute blast and we were very comfortable. Location is great. Will book again. Owner was accessible, kind, and helpful.

Enjoyed our stay. Short walk to beach, Close to restaurants and shops. Kitchen was well stocked, too stocked for cleanliness purposes.

Great location!

We are a family of 3 but also had our puppy along. The house was spacious! Location is 2 blocks walk to the beach and close to severel restaurants. It had all the cooking utensils, spices, odds & ends like coffee filters etc (which was a nice surprise). Better than expected and owner kept good communication.

Great beach house for the price

Perfect location. Near many places to eat and shop. 2 blocks from the beach. Plenty of beach items to use. The owner was very quick to respond to questions. The place has a little age to it but it was nothing major to me. Just as a note if you think you want a perfect place.

Host was prompt on responses to questions/concernsAsk about how TV channels are accessed. We had no way to access local TV channels (abc, nbc, cbs) unless we owned various accounts (netflix, hulu, etc - and we didn't) that we could log intoCertain information should be provided as property rental or check-in info: if linens are provided, what are trash pickup days; is there recycling Ask about the status of dishware, pans, and utensils. We found stains and food stuck to some pans, and some carving knives and silverware had rust. Manual can opener barely cut at all and only after a long struggle.

OBX family vaca

This was our first time on a big family vacation, in a house. So much better than a hotel. Comforts of home were the best part for me. The house was roomy, 4 bedroms and 2 bathrooms: more than enough room. Had alot of boardgames in the closets...game night!!! The kids especially loved the outside shower (actually argued a few times on who was going to get in first)...the adults loved the outside shower also as when the kids came back from the beach (2 short blocks away) they could shower off the sand! Would totally recommend this house for a family vacation!

Wow! Melissa was great with getting back to me about the questions I had. We had a hurricane coming up. I was worried, I didn’t want it to be a total washout or unsafe She got back with me right away and was willing to even change the dates she was great. We were scheduled for two weeks. She let me change the second week to next year. She was great. I wish all the owners were as accommodating as her.

Home away from home

This house accommodated all of our needs. We cooked dinner each night and ate together at the table. We were able to wash our clothes and dishes. We were able to sweep and mop each day. The outside shower and bathrooms with handheld shower heads help to rinse the sand. The house has everything!! It was an easy walk to the beach, especially using the wagon to carry your things. Watching the sunrise while drinking coffee was the perfect start to each day. The house is located close to stores, restaurants, and attractions. Loved every moment of our stay!!!

A Hidden Gem

This house was lovely and clean- the pictures in the listing do not do it justice! Each guest room was neat and a decent size and there were so many beds, so you can sleep quite a few people here! We loved having a washer and dryer. This was one of the most well-stocked kitchens I have ever had at a beach house- adequate serving utensils, mixing bowls, pans, etc. The location is north in Kitty Hawk, so you get to house almost immediately after turning onto N Croatan Highway. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and you have to cross the beach road (without a crosswalk). The owners were excellent to communicate with.

This house is well suited for 2-3 couples with kids. It has a lot of space and two good sized bathrooms. It's worth knowing it is right off the highway. Probably not an issue in the off season but in the summer it is quite loud with traffic. Also we had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, soap, because they were out sadly. Maybe there's a closet somewhere that we missed with these items. Also it's an older home (which we love the older cottages at the beach!) so no issues except the bedrooms do not cool down as well as the living room and kitchen area which gets very cold with the ac but there are ceiling fans. The host allowed us to check in early which was so nice.

I only provide enough toilet paper and paper towels to start since guests usually go to the store and buy what they need. I will make sure that information is posted on my listing.
