Relax on the screened porch after a beach day steps away, or take a casual walk to the nearby Cape Trading Post.

Break from the Michigan cold

We loved this home! We were able to walk right outside to a beautiful beach where we hunted shells for hours. Our pup loved frolicking in the beach and made several new friends on our jaunts! This was a perfect home as we were traveling with another couple and we each had our own private bath/bedroom area plus our own personal deck! The shared deck was screened in which was perfect for our pooch! I would definitely return to this home! We loved it!

Ideal poperty, down the stairs and on beach.

The perfect beach front property, right on the beach, maybe 50 feet away if that far. I have rented many beach front properties, but this was #1 by far, ideal, 5 stars. Pet friendly house and pet friendly beach. Property was clean and looks like updated. Only one story, which for senior adults saved going up and down steps. Pictures in VRBO are very accurate. Cape San Blas actually faces west, which surprised me, thus had killer sunsets. Good neighborhood, but large grocery store and restaurants are 20 minutes away in Port ST Joe or Apalachicola, but an insignificant problem.

Good property that needs some attention…

We absolutely loved these things about the property: Screened porch was great for nighttime sitting! The home was clean (with some exceptions) and nicely decorated. The picture on the tv was amazingly clear! Location near Trading Post and donut shop was very convenient. Kitchen was well-appointed and had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, and ability to do laundry in the home. Excellent gulf view, with outside captains chairs for watching sunrise. Comfy furniture. Great floor plan. Access to main floor via outside stairs was nice, and door lock worked well. Things that could use attention: Access to the beach was a big problem. This was partially due to the erosion from Hurricane Helene, and we had been told we could access through a property a few houses down; however, that was very inconvenient. Screened porch door was rickety and needs to be replaced. Screen had been ripped out and stapled back, and parts of the door itself were hanging by a loose screw. The door did not close securely without extra effort. Would be dangerous for a small child, toddler, or pet. Bathrooms: Tub faucets in master bath were loose and wobbly. Both shower curtains were nice, but the liners were covered with mildew. Something that was problematic and is out of the property owners’ control was the number of dogs on the beach WITHOUT leashes. Overall, we loved the property and had a wonderful vacation. With some attention, this would be an excellent place to stay.

Location, location, location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, I would absolutely stay at this house again although not everyone in our party agreed. It does seem that the house needs some TLC and that slight updates were being made but then stopped to allow the house to be used for the season. You can tell this from the paint all around the home and the patches in the ceiling in the living room. I loved the screened porch which is also in need of some TLC, but others also thought that it took away from any view from the living room. It all comes down to preference really. For a vacation home, it was right for me, especially the location! Be aware that the outdoor shower gets lukewarm at best. LOVED the bed swing downstairs. If I didn't have little ones, I would've napped in it every day. I cannot say enough about Glynnis with Baytowne Vacations. She is a rockstar. The first morning (a Sunday) after checking in, the coffee maker wasn't working. Glynnis treated it like an emergency and got us a new pot right away. Baytowne Vacations has great customer service, and anytime I have called, a real, live person has been quick to answer. Love that!

Great location

The house had everything we needed! It is a perfect location right on the beach but also a really short walk to the Trading Post, Ice Cream shop, and even the Shrimp Restaurant.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed My Tide vacation home at Cape San Blas! Perfect location and right on the beach. The home was updated, clean and well-maintained. We chose this home because of the location, beach front, layout and being updated; although, there were only 2 of us staying in this 4 bedroom home, The home has 2 separate decks with a screened-in deck between the 2 decks. The covered and screened-in portion came in handy during 2 mornings on rain. Since the home is so close to the water, you still felt like you were sitting on the beach when using the deck. The one mattress we slept in was comfy, as were the two sofas. Baytowne Vacation Rentals was great to deal with the beginning. We really enjoyed their app, which had all our rental details. We had a common home maintenance issue and Baytowne sent a maintenance worker out within hours to fix the problem. Perfect week with no complaints!

My Tide review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was OK. Worked for two families. Beach public access was right next to the house which means you will have a parade of people coming by and setting up right in front of the house. The provisioning of the house could be better. One thing to be aware of. The road in front of the house was not paved and was deep sand. I had to use my 4 wheel drive a couple of times. I was not informed of the road conditions before booking.

Best Beach week!

We fell in love with Cape San Blas and My Tide: It was our first time to CSB and we will definitely be back. My Tide is right on the beach with a wide beach frontage. The water, shell finds, and amazing sunsets were unbelievable. The layout of the house was perfect for our family of 6 and a set of grandparents. We also loved how close it was to the Trading Post and donut shop. Thank you for a great week!

ALMOST PERFECT

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: STAY OCT 14 THRU OCT 21. Excellent 'All on one level floor plan!" This house was recently refurbished in and out and it showed! Very clean (with the exception of shrimp found in dishwasher drain from those who stayed the week before us...'you gotta rinse all the food off your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher..DUH!'.. no fault of the new owners, rental agency or cleaners!) Great location...on the beach! Small bedrooms, bathroom and laundry to accommodate the 'all on one level floor plan'... however, the living area is large! Fine with our crew, we all loved it! ALMOST PERFECT: Some constructive criticism (that would make this rental perfect!). The ceramic topped surface eyes hold the heat far too well! The units are either on HI or OFF...low heat/simmer is impossible! Eggs scorch unless you watch it closely! The new (high end) wall oven does not cook evenly at all...something wrong here....invisible lower element may be faulty???! The coffee pot carafe has been replaced and it does not fit the heat plate surface flush and tight (only touches on the very outer edge ring)...coffee does not get hot as a result! The front door "L" handle is about to fall off (After 20 years of rentals at CAPE rentals, most ALL have this problem. Get a quality door handle and be done with it! Our family loved MY TIDE; however, my wife will not come back due to the oven and surface unit issues (she is an excellent cook!). Despite that issue, I rated it a 4 of 5 and would have rated it 5 all around except for the cooking issues!Maybe the new owners will find the same cooking issues I explained are real and address them. If so, I will be back!

Great location, ok rental

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect location with beautiful views. House was tidy but was very dirty. Fridge handles and dishes in cabinets had food still on them. The base boards in the bathrooms were covered in hair and detritus. Floors had (I’m guessing) dog hair all over them. We were not allowed to check in until after 4pm so the cleaning crew had enough time to clean to COVID standards. As you can imagine, it was irritating to arrive to a filthy vacation house during a pandemic, basically in the evening, even though you paid for a full day. I reported the lack of cleanliness when the hot water heater broke on our second day (maintenance came right away and we had hot water again within an hour). The office offered to send the cleaning crew back out, but we didn’t want to be inconvenienced by them, especially since there was little chance the house would truly get cleaned/disinfected. Although we had a wonderful, beautiful vacation we probably will not use this rental property again.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great location, steps from the beach! However, the house had piles of fur in the corners and in the cracks of the couches. Ceiling fans and air intake vent had a good layer of dust present, and one of the beds had sand in the sheets. The pots and pans were not in great shape. The only reason I’m saying these negative things is that if I was the homeowner, I’d want to know. Great layout of the house.

‘My Tide” was a great location with perfect Sunsets..

We had a wonderful stay! Sunsets directly in front. Shelling has been awesome. Home has all your basic needs. Nice gas grill. Grocery store is within walking distance and has a great selection of steaks. Seafood market next to it as well. The Cape is in full swing of recovery mode and on track for another beautiful fun summer! I didn’t like having to drive back for check-in after a late arrival, but found a few shops while having to do so, so it wasn’t so bad for the long drive off the cape. We will be back ! We appreciate thei owners accommodations for our Golden Retriever.as well!
