Dog Friendly Vacation House / Cabin at a Winery & Vineyard !

Come enjoy a get-away weekend in the heart of North Carolina wine country, sample some great wines, walk in the vineyards, and relax with the spectacular sunsets over the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are dog-friendly, with a great fenced-in play area! Located just off I-77 and I-74 near Mt Airy, and only 9 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway, our winery house at Round Peak Vineyards is a great stopping point even if you are just passing through! A free wine tasting for up to 8 people is included. There is also an 18 hole disc golf course on site.

Round Peak Vineyards is located in the Yadkin Valley AVA, sitting at 1300 ft. in elevation in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We currently have 11 acres of vineyards producing 12 French and Italian varietals. All of our award-winning wines are estate bottled, using only the grapes grown in our vineyard. Come taste our award-winning wines and tour our winery! Then enjoy the many activities in the surround areas, including over 30 nearby wineries.

A wonderful family Christmas

Ken, thank you so much for a wonderful experience at your rental at RoundPeak Vineyard! We enjoyed all the aspects of the house and the gorgeous view from the home. Everything was comfortable and clean and my entire family thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

Beautiful Vineyard Stay

Amazing views of the winery and mountains in the distance. Loved that we were able to bring our pup and were just a few short steps away from the winery tasting room. Definitely recommend for those looking for a quaint NC peaceful getaway!!

Great property

We stayed at the home for two nights. The property was exactly as advertised. It was very clean and had amazing views of the mountains from the screened in porch. We didn’t have time to visit the winery, but there were quite a few cars in its parking lot, which I assume means it’s pretty good. I would highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable and great located at the Round Peak Winery

We really enjoyed our stay at the Round Peak Winery. The "cabin" was very comfortable and well stocked for our stay. The setting at the winery is beautiful and was nice to have access to the winery / brewery for beverages. We would definitely stay there again on future visits.

Christmas getaway

Our family spent a week in the winery cabin. My dad and I have both had cancer battles this year and it was a wonderful respite from hospitals and doctors offices! The cabin was perfect for our size family. Beautiful view of the Blue Ridge mountains from the screened in back porch. Great communication with owner. Thank you for helping make our week so enjoyable!

The hospitality, the beauty, where do one start but you must start with the excellent customer service. My mother traveled with us and the 2 hr drive wore her out a bit, so we asked the owner for another day to add and they went beyond the call of duty to provide the best experiences for us. Stayed for a wedding!

We had a great time, the view from the back porch is awesome! The house was clean and fully stocked. We didn't get to visit the winery but we will come back again. One suggestion would be to add lighting for the parking/walkway to the house.

Cute and cozy

Our stay at the winery house was wonderful. It was clean, and well stocked… and speaking for myself, the master bedroom bed was so comfortable! Our family of 5 adults was perfectly happy and especially being able to stroll the grounds and stop at the winery for a glass of wine or beer and watch the sunset from their terrace or the screened in back porch. Be aware if you arrive after dark it is not well lit outside but was great once we found oyr way inside.

Great value in a picturesque location

The home was very comfortable for our group of six. Plenty of seating indoors and out. We spent a lot of time on the large screened porch and every evening watching the sunset from the gorgeous winery pavilion that overlooks the breathtaking mountain range. We went into Mount Airy daily since it’s so close by. The owners/management were very cordial and responsive. We hope to come back!

Beautiful cabin with a gorgeous view - vineyards and sunsets. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Enjoyed the wine tasting too. Matt was awesome! If we are ever back in the area, we will be back. Highly recommend this cabin and location.

Beautiful winery/mountain retreat

This is about our 6-7th time staying at these houses, and we always leave relaxed and refreshed. It does not hurt having the winery/brewery right next door :)

The "Napa Valley" of North Carolina

Awesome vineyard property with a great vacation home. Close to town but just far away enough to enjoy total relaxation in rustic comfort. You can't beat Round Peak for a fantastic vacation.

Heaven on earth!

Well appointed cabin, screened porch with views to die for! You can't go wrong waking up to the gorgeous scenery and watching the sunset in the eve! Breathtaking! The winery is a bonus, a huge patio with more of the beautiful views and all kinds of yummy wines! The house has everything you could need and was very comfortable.

Great girl's weekend getaway!

Six of us (women in our 50's) spent a lovely weekend in the vineyard. We never left the property. We enjoyed walks around the vineyard, wine in the gazebo, sunsets and meals on the screen porch, 18 holes of disc golf (with a few shots from between trees, and lots of laughter), wine tasting, and yoga in the vineyard field. The kitchen was well-equiped with ample dishes, flatware, pots/pans. Large table would easily accomodate 8 people and worked great for games and crafts for our group. Of note; it is a high top table. Only thing missing was a garbage disposal. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and updated. Living room furniture was cozy and comfortable and was nice for lounging with tea and coffee for our leisurly mornings. We liked watching the activity just a few steps away at the wine tasting room/tent or the 1st tee for disc golf, but not necessarily having to be a part of it. Visitors were never intrusive or bothersome. We were only a 2 hour drive from home, but felt like we really got away as the property is wooded with views of the mountains. There is a very short drive to Mt. Airy. We stopped for lunch on our way in and stopped at a few shops on our way out, but as I said, we never left the property from Friday to Monday. One of our most enjoyable girl's weekends. We plan to return!

Hi everyone! We are Kari Heerdt and Ken Gulaian, and as the owners of Round Peak Vineyards, we'd like to introduce ourselves and our team. We met in Cincinnati in 1998 when we both worked for General Electric. We moved to Charlotte, NC in 2000 for a new job opportunity, loved it, and decided North Carolina was where we would stay. Careers got in the way though, and in 2006 we moved to San Francisco for Kari's work. This proved to be instrumental since it resulted in a lot of time spent enjoying wine in Napa, Sonoma, and especially the Dry Creek Valley. We particularly enjoyed the small family owned wineries. When we got the chance to return to North Carolina in 2008, again for Kari's work, we jumped at the chance. Ken had already decided it was time to give up the corporate world, and when we found out there was an opportunity to own a winery in North Carolina, we couldn't resist! After visiting, being impressed with the wines, and seeing the spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we decided to take the challenge.

We spent a year upgrading the house, and the surrounding area, to make it an ideal place for a group to stay.
