Dog Friendly Vacation House / Cabin at a Winery & Vineyard !

Come enjoy a get-away weekend in the heart of North Carolina wine country, sample some great wines, walk in the vineyards, and relax with the spectacular sunsets over the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are dog-friendly, with a great fenced-in play area! Located just off I-77 and I-74 near Mt Airy, and only 9 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway, our winery house at Round Peak Vineyards is a great stopping point even if you are just passing through! A free wine tasting for up to 8 people is included. There is also an 18 hole disc golf course on site.

Round Peak Vineyards is located in the Yadkin Valley AVA, sitting at 1300 ft. in elevation in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We currently have 11 acres of vineyards producing 12 French and Italian varietals. All of our award-winning wines are estate bottled, using only the grapes grown in our vineyard. Come taste our award-winning wines and tour our winery! Then enjoy the many activities in the surround areas, including over 30 nearby wineries.

The "Napa Valley" of North Carolina

Awesome vineyard property with a great vacation home. Close to town but just far away enough to enjoy total relaxation in rustic comfort. You can't beat Round Peak for a fantastic vacation.

March stay

This was a wonderful house for 6 adults. The owner was so gracious and available to help with any questions. The server at the winery was very pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine that we had at our tasting. The mountains were beautiful in the distance. My leashed dogs loved roaming the winery grounds.

Great location!

The property has a great location on the edge of a vineyard. The sunset over the vineyard and hills was spectacular and the ability to walk to the winery, through the vineyard...and play disc golf made this very worthwhile.

We Would Stay There Again

Beautiful cabin with a gorgeous view - vineyards and sunsets. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Enjoyed the wine tasting too. Matt was awesome! If we are ever back in the area, we will be back. Highly recommend this cabin and location.

Great stay!!

Needing to find a pet friendly place to stay, we found this online and took our chances. What a pleasant surprise!! This is a great place - clean, plenty of linens, ample seating and very friendly staff at winery. The view and grounds are amazing and the location is very convenient to attractions in the area. We will definitely return!!

Stayed for a wedding!

We had a great time, the view from the back porch is awesome! The house was clean and fully stocked. We didn't get to visit the winery but we will come back again. One suggestion would be to add lighting for the parking/walkway to the house.

Thanks for a great stay!

Ken was amazing to work with when our flight to NC was canceled twice! The home was great and we enjoyed our time there. The location was perfect. Close to Mt. Airy where we were visiting family as well as the Blue Ridge parkway. We also really enjoyed the frisbee golf course on the property as well as just walking around the vineyard. The kitchen was well stocked as advertised and their were plenty of towels and hot water for our large group. As a bonus I was able to get some great BBQ which just can't be found in the West. Thanks!

No pets but a group of 10 friends. we booked both cabins and the beds were great. Ken G. is fantastic host and has ALWAYS been available. Love the place but then again this is our 5th time at the vineyard! Many more to come for sure

Perfect peaceful vineyard get away.

The home was everything you could ask for a wonderful weekend away! Amazing views from the screened in porch was absolutely perfect for morning coffee, breakfast, and a enjoying the evening with a glass of wine.

Highly Recommend

This cabin is everything we wanted it to be. Great location, well stocked, beautiful views, quiet yet convenient. The winery had music and delicious snacks as well as a variety of wines and beer. The host was responsive from the booking to the exit and went out of his way to meet all of our needs. I highly recommend and I will be returning myself! Thank you!

Great weekend escape

This property offered a delightful and stress-free weekend away. My sister's family and my own met up here - 7 of us, including four teen and tween girls, plus three dogs. We enjoyed a delightful sunset dinner on the porch, walked the grounds, played games (we didn't even have to break out the games we brought as there were so many good ones there), and of course enjoyed the included wine tasting. The wine is terrific, as is the beer, and the atmosphere of the winery is very pleasant. Easy jaunt into Mount Airy. Rain kept us from hiking at Stone Mountain or Pilot Mountain, but one of those were on our list to do if the weather had cooperated. Well-stocked kitchen in terms of pans and utensils. We will be back.

A wonderful family Christmas

Beautiful Vineyard Stay

Amazing views of the winery and mountains in the distance. Loved that we were able to bring our pup and were just a few short steps away from the winery tasting room. Definitely recommend for those looking for a quaint NC peaceful getaway!!

Great property

We stayed at the home for two nights. The property was exactly as advertised. It was very clean and had amazing views of the mountains from the screened in porch. We didn’t have time to visit the winery, but there were quite a few cars in its parking lot, which I assume means it’s pretty good. I would highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable and great located at the Round Peak Winery

We really enjoyed our stay at the Round Peak Winery. The "cabin" was very comfortable and well stocked for our stay. The setting at the winery is beautiful and was nice to have access to the winery / brewery for beverages. We would definitely stay there again on future visits.

Christmas getaway

Our family spent a week in the winery cabin. My dad and I have both had cancer battles this year and it was a wonderful respite from hospitals and doctors offices! The cabin was perfect for our size family. Beautiful view of the Blue Ridge mountains from the screened in back porch. Great communication with owner. Thank you for helping make our week so enjoyable!

My mother traveled with us and the 2 hr drive wore her out a bit, so we asked the owner for another day to add and they went beyond the call of duty to provide the best experiences for us. Hi everyone! We are Kari Heerdt and Ken Gulaian, and as the owners of Round Peak Vineyards, we'd like to introduce ourselves and our team. We met in Cincinnati in 1998 when we both worked for General Electric. We moved to Charlotte, NC in 2000 for a new job opportunity, loved it, and decided North Carolina was where we would stay. Careers got in the way though, and in 2006 we moved to San Francisco for Kari's work. This proved to be instrumental since it resulted in a lot of time spent enjoying wine in Napa, Sonoma, and especially the Dry Creek Valley. We particularly enjoyed the small family owned wineries. When we got the chance to return to North Carolina in 2008, again for Kari's work, we jumped at the chance. Ken had already decided it was time to give up the corporate world, and when we found out there was an opportunity to own a winery in North Carolina, we couldn't resist! After visiting, being impressed with the wines, and seeing the spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we decided to take the challenge.

We spent a year upgrading the house, and the surrounding area, to make it an ideal place for a group to stay.
