We had a great family weekend at Happy Ours! The location and views were incredible! Lots of space for our large family to gather and relax as well as enjoy meals together. Only downer was that the previous renter didn’t take out their very smelly fishy trash so the place smelled terrible until we discovered it and removed it. The host was very accommodating with sending someone out to help freshen the space and get rid of the smell.

Phenomenal property! The house is spectacular and everything worked perfectly (it takes a couple of minutes for the hot water to make it to the downstair bath . . . be patient!). All the bedrooms were super clean and very well-appointed. Huge kitchen with plenty of utensils, dishware, blenders, coffeemakers, etc. (2 dishwashers were unexpectedly helpful). Outside the views are amazing, period. We didn't use the hot tub but did use the pool that had plenty of room for everyone. The decks are huge. Personally I think it's a huge plus to be so close to Ft. Macon, good grocery stores and markets in Morehead City, and Beaufort.

The perfect setup (but just one thing)

The house is incredible, two types of grills and a heated pool on the beach. Not much more you could ask for. The only thing that can be difficult to manage is the limited amount of parking, and having to move cars around. So make sure to carpool, your not going to want to leave anyway!

Happy Ours was an absolutely wonderful house. First, the views are breathtaking. The house is also exceptionally new, well built, and squeaky clean. The furniture was awesome as was the decor and lighting. Very high quality and tons of seating both in and out for a large crew to lounge and dine together all day. The pool was clean and warm. It’s a bit larger than a plunge pool size and is one of the largest pools on the block. The kids adored the bunk room and game room. The walk down to the beach is under five minutes, gently sloped and accessible for all members of our group from toddlers to grandparents. North of the house the beach is quite crowded but this part of the beach is only dotted with people. Our entire group was so sad to leave and is eager to return again. Note that parking in this area is very limited and there is no street parking. We were able to fit 4 vehicles — two full size SUVs, one small SUV and one midsize sedan without a problem, which was the full capacity. Lastly, be sure to wear shoes on the deck and be mindful of the handrails as you can get splinters. Don’t forget to enjoy coffee on the deck and count the dolphins swimming by!

Perfect house

This house is stunning and just so prepared for visitors. The views, the super quick access to the beach, the layout, everything! The house had plenty of pots, pans, plates, utensils, everything. The appliances are all high end. There is a double outdoor shower which was an amazing surprise! Was a bit disappointed that the pool wasn’t ready as originally promised and that we were living in an active construction zone (probably pretty unsafe). BUT the views and the decks on the house made up for everything. Once the pool is completed I would go back in a heartbeat. One warning for future renters: they do not have a propane grill. It’s a propane flat top. That completely messed up our dinners. We ended up having to cook most meals in the kitchen which stunk.

Thanks for your review! We always appreciate your feedback. We understand the pool not being ready was disappointing and we offered a substantial discount due to that. The areas of the property that are for guests were not under construction during your stay- safety is paramount for our guests. The owner has purchased a traditional propane grill for the property & the pool has been completed. Please give us a call when you'd like to return- we look forward to hosting you again!
