Spacious Superior: The perfect relaxation getaway!

Location, location, location! Unwind & gather with family/friends on a cute, tree-lined street in Michigan City! This large, fully updated home is stocked with new kitchenware, appliances, beach toys/towels, & two smart TVs. Less than 10 minutes from the beach & casino, & a short drive from hiking trails in the nation's newest national park. Enjoy a meal around the farmhouse table, roast a s'more in the firepit, or venture out to explore wineries, cafes, boat rentals, outlet malls, & more!

To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you!

This home has been completely renovated for the comfort of our guests! Four bedrooms sleep 12 people. (Main floor: one queen bedroom and one trundle bed couch. Upstairs: One king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and one bedroom with two trundle beds (sleep four).

New appliances, dishes, towels, and beach gear are all available for use. The fenced-in backyard has plenty of room for a game of frisbee or relaxing on the deck/around the firepit.

HOUSE PERKS:
--This rental includes a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, sink, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, hand mixer, & coffee maker. Essentials like plates, cups, glass cookware, pots/pans, utensils, & paper towel will be provided for your use. (Please note: There is not a dishwasher.)
--Along with coffee, creamer and sweetener are provided.
--Cooking spray or oil, salt/pepper are provided. Brands provided depend on what's in stock at local stores, so if you have specific brand/flavor preferences for these items, please feel free to bring your own. :)
--A hair dryer and showering essentials are provided. Bath towels/rags are available for each guest. Each bedroom has a designated closet with hanger storage and a dresser for clothing. There is also an iron and ironing board in the laundry room.
--Small beach toys for kids and a large Turkish beach towel is provided for each guest.
--A few family friendly games and a deck of cards are available for your use.
--A small charcoal grill is available in the backyard to be used at your own risk. Guests are responsible for providing charcoal and lighter fluid, and for leaving the grill in the same condition as it was found.
--Guests can park anywhere in front of the house; it is free street parking and there's always room.

TECHNOLOGY:
--Two flat screen smart televisions are hooked up in two living areas, though we recommend the outdoors over the tube! ;)
--Wifi is provided.
--A Smart Home Device is also in the house with instructions on how to use it. The device can play music/white noise, find local attractions, check the weather, etc. Guests who do not want to utilize the device can simply turn it off.
--A washer/dryer is available for your use in the laundry room.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from:
--Users who are "verified" and who already have positive reviews from other hosts.
--Renters that are above the age of 25.
--A maximum of twelve guests per reservation.
--Renters who are not throwing gatherings/events. (We do have a ring camera installed at the front door.)
We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. In order to keep the home in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

***As hosts, we have sustained damages to our properties in the past. Because we value our relationships with our neighbors and because we aim to keep the properties in top condition, we do require guests to have previous positive reviews from past trips. If you do not have previous positive reviews from past trips, we do require a fully refundable $500 damage deposit. The deposit is returned on your day check out when the cleaning team arrives and confirms the property is in good condition.***

***Smoking is NOT allowed inside or around the property. If there is any evidence smoking occurred inside or within 50 feet of the property (smoke smell, ashes, paraphernalia, etc) there will be an additional $300 cleaning charge and/or loss of security deposit if one was collected.

SAFETY INFO:
--Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the house is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) We also do not have a pack and play/portable crib. ***Guests will need to bring their own and are solely responsible for keeping a close eye on children.***
--Note that the steps in the home are *INCREDIBLY STEEP*. (The home is historic and was built in the early 1900s.) If all guests in your party are NOT able-bodied, it will be difficult to access the front door (stairs must be climbed) and the upstairs of the home (incredibly steep stairs). If you have non able-bodied guests staying with you, we recommend looking at some of our other listings to find a more comfortable fit. Even for those who are able bodied, the steep nature of the steps means you must take your time and use hand railings when climbing up/down stairs.
-- In the upstairs back bedroom, a floating floor is installed over the existing one, so guests may notice softer spots depending on the humidity/weather. The home is solid and structurally sound (and has passed all professional inspections), but some squeaking in flooring is normal, especially in a 100-year-old house. ;)

***Our pet-friendly property has a $75 fee per pet (Should be added automatically once you select the option). We allow one small to medium-sized, potty-trained dog (no puppies).
Dog Rules:

-Dogs must be crated if left unattended and are not allowed on furniture. Service animals must stay with you at all times.
-Dogs must be leashed when outside.
-Please clean up after your pet indoors and outdoors.***

Other things to note
CHECK-IN INFO:
--Guests who book will receive detailed check-in instructions and a key code for entry on the morning of their scheduled arrival. All of this will be communicated through AirBnB messenger.
--Check-in is between 4 and 9 p.m.; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive. (Note: We will try to accommodate early arrival/late check out requests, but often times, the cleaning crew requires the full time between guests if we have back-to-back bookings.)
--Our cancellation policy is moderate.

You will have the house to yourself (self check-in), but hosts will be just a short text/phone call/drive away should you need anything at all.

Michigan City is a great vacation spot. A variety of activities are available for everyone, regardless of age/ability/interests.

*Please note that the neighborhoods throughout Michigan City are often transitional, and while our guests have not had any personal safety issues in the many years we’ve been hosting, Michigan City hosts an eclectic mix of people: both locals and tourists. The police station is typically less than a mile away from all of our rentals, along with many other popular restaurants and attractions. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please read previous location ratings and reviews from other guests for this specific property, and/or reach out with any specific questions prior to booking. Over the years we’ve been hosting, our rentals have averaged between 4.6 and 5 stars (out of 5) in the location category.

A car is the best mode of transportation around the area. Feel free to bring your own bikes, as biking along the lakefront is beautiful!
