Clean unit with all necessities. Great location for our stay in the Ukrainian Village- walk ro restaurants, grocery, deli, and coffee shops. Check in and check out were very simple. Really enjoyed the stay.

Perfect location and great size for a family of three. It was a wonderful place to start an end of the day. The host communicated well and we had everything that we needed.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience. The host was very responsive and helpful. I felt safe in the neighborhood as a woman traveling alone. It was clean. One call out is that laundry is not included. You have to pay an additional fee. Additionally, you can hear people walking above you. I was still able to sleep, but just fyi if that bothers people. I would stay here again if I was visiting the area.

Cute spot - adorable neighborhood!

Perfect for our needs. Bed was comfy, host was responsive and the neighborhood is very walkable. Would recommend!

If you enjoy paying for a vacation rental that looks like it skipped cleaning day entirely, this is the place for you. Prefer floors covered in dirt and crumbs, mysterious hair throughout the unit, and dust collecting in every corner? You'll feel right at home. If you also enjoy sleeping in a room with ineffective curtains for outside light and being treated like you're the problem for expecting basic cleanliness, even better!My partner & I arrived late one night for a friend's wedding expecting a great stay based on the listing photos. Instead, we walked into a unit that appeared to have been left exactly as the previous guests left it. The floors, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were noticeably dirty, with crumbs, dust, hair, & debris throughout.When we contacted the host, we were met with responses ranging from "there is nothing we are able to do" to claims that they'd "never had this complaint before." Apparently, providing a clean unit wasn't considered part of the accommodations we reserved. Equally concerning was the complete lack of accountability, effort to verify the condition of the property, or willingness to offer even a partial refund.We left at the first opportunity the next day. We are not people who tend to complain or leave negative reviews, but future guests deserve to know what they're walking into. After 30 days' notice of our reservation, expecting a rental to be clean on arrival seemed like a low bar. Unfortunately, our bar was still too high.

I am sorry for your experience, however find your review extremely misinformed. As I explained you should have contacted me and I could have had the cleaning team return. Instead you claimed to have left without notifying me and demanded a refund. Instead, you did not vacate the unit when you claimed (which we can see from the security cameras) and instead only filed a complaint after your reservation had ended. We have no way to even verify that you actually vacated the unit since you never notified us of any problem. Even VRBO found your complaints unverified when they conducted their own investigation. We do hire an external cleaning team and have never had complaints like this before. If we were notified, we could have had the unit serviced again. I wish your experience had been better, but I find it unfortunate you take to criticizing our home which we take great pride in and have not only had impeccable reviews in the past, but have made dear friends with previous guests. I wish you all the luck in the future.

The rental was perfect for our trip. Location was conveniently central to the neighborhoods we spent time in (the Loop, Northside, and West Town) and the unit was just enough space for 2 friends to not get on each other’s nerves. Unit was clean and quiet, and the footsteps from the units above weren’t loud. Gina was accessible and quick to respond to asks/questions. Would definitely recommend.

Great location 2 blocks from the bus. Lots of great places to shop and eat within walking distance of 10 minutes or less. The neighborhood was quiet, well kept and we felt secure. We stayed 4 nights. The basement apartment was comfy, clean, and had everything we needed. The 2 air conditioners were plenty to keep us cool in this hot August heat. Host was very organized and responded quick when needed. We enjoyed the big, firm but comfortable bed. Would stay again. Thanks Gina!

Great Location, Nicely Renovated

We enjoyed our stay at Ukrainian Village, mostly due to location in Wicker Park & the discounted price we received. The house was recently renovated and was in great condition with thoughtful touches. I would not, however, rent here again. There was an inordinate amount of communication with the owners (25+messages) & there were some basic aspects of this house that were missing. There is NO ability to change the temperature of the unit without messaging the owners and we were hot our entire stay (they did install AC units in the windows while we were there, but it was still very hot). There was a 27 page welcome packet that did not list the Wifi Password (another message to the owner). While not necessary, there is nowhere in this unit to work or use a laptop comfortably. I would not recommend for 4 adults and the room got very hot and it was a tight squeeze. This is a great VRBO for a couple on a trip who will spend most of their time exploring the city & wants a good value when prices are high.
